It's incredible how in the first minute and a half, I now actually grasp the concepts my Chemistry teacher has been using for the last semester and a half
@renderinggg Yes, but being at home with a computer to yourself is an easy way to go off-task real fast :) Really depends on the individual and their self discipline in the age of the personal computer
@renderinggg Point taken, perhaps my response betrays my own struggle with staying on task. Personally I prefer using notebooks and handwriting. Of course, I'll take studying from my notebook in bed over studying at a desk in an uncomfortable chair any day of the week.
Hi!! I just wanna come by to thank you for all your devotion!!!! I GOT 5 for both chemistry and physics C mechanism & electricity ap exams last semester because of your videos! They are amazingly helpful both for starting and advanced level students. LOVE U!!
I've been using your videos for years to get me through undergrad and I finally want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH! You've really been a GPA saver and I appreciate you!
I wish to meet you someday and thank you personally for teaching me so many things clearly whenever I got fed up for lack of details in books or my ill fate of not getting someone who could help
I love this channel. Explains everything so well to the point that I have no further questions unlike other videos where they mention something but leave out certain info that could potentially lead me to understanding it better
Are you an actual teacher? If not you have a talent. You do not try to talk down and use unnecessarily complicated terms and explain things the way they are without using big words. You give plenty of examples and allow for us to try our own examples. Its amazing as refreshers and first time learners
Professor Organic Chemistry Tutor, this is a solid introduction into Polar and Nonpolar Molecules in AP/General Chemistry. Analyzing the geometry and the electronegativity values is an excellent way to learn if a molecule is Polar or Nonpolar in Modern Chemistry.This is an error free video/lecture on RUclips TV with the Organic Chemistry Tutor.
YOUR VIDEOS ARE VERY HELPFUL. EVERYTHING YOU EXPLAIN HELPS ME GRASP THE CONCEPT. I HAD BEEN LOOKING FOR CHEMISTRY VIDEOS THAT WOULD HELP ME AND I AM SOO GLAD I FOUND YOUR CHANNEL. YOU EXPLAINED SO WELL. COMMENDABLE!!!❤
Crystal clear explanation❤. My chemistry teacher just writes and writes and does not focus on explaining that much. The way you explained is just fabulous.. thanks
Bro this was the best intro to polar and non polar. My teacher just likes to talk for real she don’t be teaching but youtube helps so much. I liked the chart that showed how to know if it’s polar and non polar cause now it’s so easy
Dude you explained it so well! And your voice sounds so peaceful and calm I could listen to it all day lol. Thank you for this video. 1day before my exam.🤞A
Thank you so much that's very helpful...I'm doing materials physics and I hate it whenever it comes to chemistry...but this video was very much concise and understandable :) ...Thank you again.

Thank you so much for explaining this! I'm retaking a chemistry exam next week and the questions about the polarity are the ones that confused me now that I understand it's gonna be easier to solve the problems ❤
If the central atom has a lone pair of electrons like in SO2, it causes the electrons to cause a repulsion effect b/w them as they are like charges and thus, they try to stay as far as the can from each other, causing the the compound to bend. As for CO2, notice that it has no lone pair of electrons on carbon and thus it exists in a linear form. Please do reply if you got it.
one imp. note: the structure/geometry of the molecule depends upon the the hybridisation of the molecule and accordingly, the positioning of the elements is done, and a proper dipole moment can be drawn thank u very much ❤

Bro is carrying me through chem 2024 😭 you deserve all the blessings in this world 🙏🏼
I'm literally crying, we need teachers like you in school. Only if they taught us like this, I wouldn't be sitting and thinking I hate chemistry. Ugh
Yeah that's really if we have like him we love chemistry ⚗️

Honestly a lot of the times students are not the problem, teachers are not qualified enough 💔

Another way of looking at it:
Symmetrical = Nonpolar
Asymmetrical = Polar
but h2o is symmetrical and polar
@@scoutst3r H2O isn't symmetrical though? It has a bent structure.
edit: I get what you mean now
@Kiệt Khuê Lâm yeah I forgot to delete that
@@jacque.line_ng yeah it's kinda consuming
Linear = nonpolar
Non-linear = polar
I have used your videos as a reference for YEARS and they ALWAYS help. Thank you.

How do we know if the molecule is supposed to be drawn in a bent or linear shape?
check out VSEPR theory / molecular geometry.

As for CO2, notice that it has no lone pair of electrons on carbon and thus it exists in a linear form.
