- Painting in intuitive layers over a primed canvas, using spray paint and brush and palette knife, I take the viewer from start to finish through a 32 x 24 inch abstract painting, while I chat about what’s going through my mind as I make choices that come from within. That’s what this type of painting is about. Trusting your instinct, [ sometimes doubting it too ] and working from your own sense of aesthetics is like playing a jazz improv; you have to play with rhythm, and a certain amount of composition and ‘feel’ what to leave in and what to leave out, and in the end it’s just you and your materials trying to make something happen with no plan.

Wow...this is not what I expected....loved parts of it through the stages. Several times I thought it was finished....but no, big surprise ending and I love it.❤
This was a joy to watch! Love it👏💜
Your description of your thought process is so helpful... it's unlocking something in my own painting. Thank you😊😊😊
Very comforting when I think about the messy work I do. I love the bright colors, which I'm mostly afraid to use. Your abandon is so inspiring.
Galiz, thank you; You can do it!
Absolutely love this. And your commentary is inspiring ❤ Thanks so much for sharing 🎉
You are so welcome! Thank you Elle.
Daring and interesting. I’m inspired by your free-flowing creativity. Cheers! 😊
Paintover; Awesome! Thank you!

That was excellent, appreciate it 🤟
Glad you liked it! thanks Paul.
Thanks for sharing, beautifully done! But at 10;18, I saw a totally different painting.......did you paint all over it again?
Yes thanks for writing Ellen ; it’s the same painting, there was a point when I painted without checking camera was on so i think I mentioned it so apologies, I missed out a bit. But it’s the same guy:))
@Freeformax thanks...I am dutch, so sometimes I dont understand it all, now I do:)) succes with all your art, beautiful style of painting you have!
Thank you and for replying to my comment Ellen :)) Dutch heritage is art heritage !
I would love to learn how to do abstract paintings. My mind doesn’t quiet down long enough for me to allow something to stay in one place for a long enough. I don’t know about composition, values. It’s quite frightening for me to even attempt to do something abstract. But my heart wants to do it badly, flowers always pop out. any suggestions? I love how your painting turned out. Thank you.❤
Debra thanks for the comment. I think if I can learn basics in composition and values, anyone can, and the basics are all you need really to start, and you will progress by doing, and if you can go on a course or two, that will help .. It sounds like abstract painting may be the outlet for you, if you have ‘that type’ of mind. 😅, I suggest you should buy a few cheap large canvases, and don’t be scared to mess them up. Next stop; a Freeing Yourself Up painting course held in Portugal or the states.. Looking for some interested artists, beginner and non, to join me somewhere awesome.
The spray paint does it has a strong odor? I am an asthmatic person. I have never tried it.
Yes, do not use the solvent based cans, only try the Acrylic paint cans!
@@Freeformax thanks a lot
Ok wait, where did the pink circle come from?.
Yellowbird, Thank you, it’s back to how it is now; I used a later photo where I had painted more, but two minutes later I washed it back off.
