- The 2024 Paris Olympic Games were Australia's most successful, and in four years, Los Angeles will come through with its star power, so what will Brisbane bring to the 2032 Games?
#ParisOlympics #LAOlympics #BrisbaneOlympics
It's Raygun's home country. What possibly could go wrong?
It's the home country for an Australian Olympic field hockey member got caught while trying to buy cocaine in Paris. He only got a slap on the wrist warning. What possibly could go wrong?
He was probably Raygun's drug dealer. That's why she danced like that 😏
Lol, the Aussies said the Commonwealth Games were expensive, and then went up and signed up for the Olympics.
Typical Raygun moment 😂
Brisbane should admit defeat and hand it over to Tokyo to have a post covid Olympics like they deserved.
Tokyo probably doesn´t like this idea.
We don't need flashy new stadiums as long as they work and have enough capacity which is debatable. I don't remember a single thing about the Paris Olympic stadiums or any stadiums for that matter except for Beijing's nest and cube (but at what cost). What people will remember from the host is the flag handover and opening and closing ceremony. Ask people about Paris years from now and they probably think of Celine Dion, Eiffel tower and poop water.
Stade du France existed for decades. Had excellent capacity. A 40k capacity is disgraceful. Some 5k seats will already be taken by organisers and athletes’s families and coaches.
A mistake to have it there! One have to google Brisbane. After London, Paris, Tokyo, Rio and LA, the marketing for a games in place like Brisbane will be a nightmare. Phrases like “You are going to LA/Paris/ Rio ..etc” will be laughably dampened. The bid was won during Covid when nobody paid attention. Now that the world is up again, you see
2:56 that image is over 30 years old, and the first image you use of Brisbane is nearly 15 years old. Utterly embarrassing for the Project.
Edit: I could be wrong, it may not be 30 years old it might actually be closer to 40 years old, that could be Brisbane in the late 80s
I noticed that too. It’s so bizarre to use photos that are decades old 😂
Brisbane doesn't need to go big, they need to stay small...a cozy Olympics would be also a good experience
Can’t wait to hear Welcome Country
If Tom Cruise is for LA 2028, then barbie, wolverine and thor for Brisbane 😁✌🏼
As a French guy I would Say that Australia IS a true Sport country. People are practicing a lot. They deserve to build the best.

This is like Brisbane doing a raygun. 😂
00:36: your showing Yseult, a French singer as if she was American. She interpreted My Way, an American rearrangement of a French 1960s song, Comme d’habitude, by Claude Francois as a bond between Paris 24, France, to LA 28, USA. The message was also that Paris 24 did it its way, different from other Olympics.
These past couple of years has been really embarrassing to be an Aussie
Don't need to be embarrassed, I'm sure Aussies will do great!
Summer Olympics during the winter. Excellent
It's like that whenever the Summer Games are in the southern hemisphere (ie. Sydney and Rio).
@gilbydog7350 I live in brisbane so I'm all for watching the games away from the sweltering heat and extreme humidity. Which going be Excellent cool temperature in qld the sunshine state.
KYLIE MINOGUE FOR OPENING CEREMONY
And kid laroi.
Hasn't the world suffered enough after Ray Gunn? 😮
32 Years from the last time she did the Opening Ceremony and Closing for the Sydney Olympics. Man I feel old.
Be'lakor for opening ceremony
no crocodile dundee it's better!!
Brisbane bogans will stuff up the Olympics like Ray Gunn stuffed up breaking! Remember, the unaffordable Olympics was only given to Brisbane because no other city bid for 2032 games. And even then, only 72 out of the 80 IOC delegates voted in favour of Brisbane being allowed to host the Olympics 😂😂😂
Brisbane will bring its own unique flair to the 2032 Games, showcasing a mix of natural beauty and modern infrastructure. Imagine the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre (QSAC), surrounded by lush forests where you might even spot a koala, adding a distinctly Australian touch to the event. The city will also boast a new casino, offering world-class entertainment, and the new river rail will provide seamless transport spectators across the city. Iconic venues like Suncorp Stadium and the Gabba might be host thrilling events. Let's revisit these thoughts in a few years to see how Brisbane evolves!
To be fair every single host city has a few casinos, it’s not really the kind of entertainment people look for.
Its okay if you guys cant do it. Sydney will just pick up the slack like usual
40,000 athletic stadium for the Olympics?? Is this a joke?
QSAC is adjacent to a cemetery, which will be the first thing you will see in overhead shots. It's also lined on two sides by some very busy roads. You won't see any Koalas, because the forest will be cleared for a proposed metro line extension.
Looking forward with an opening ceremony with Raygun😊
Forget about flash stadiums that bankrupt a city. Even the London Olympics stadium often put forward as a great example of sustainability is now in trouble.
And don't forget the stadium for the Birmingham commonwealth games an old running track with temporary stands. All the athletes said the atmosphere was brilliant.
It not the stadium that make a successful games it's the people.
You hold your Olympics on track with grass mounds for stands and because of the Australian people it will be fantastic.
But a 40,000 capacity is a bit small
40k seating capacity is more than enough already..
Yea great si that 1/4 of the stadium is already booked for sponsors
As someone who lives in Brisbane I can say the Olympics should be held here and we should waste a lot of money and we should do over the locals all for a woke waste of money like the project.
Hope you will get the stadium before your submarines 😅
I think that a city with just little bit over 2 million inhabitants is too small to host the Olympic Games with its countless sports venues. Rio 2016 and Athens 2004, both cities larger than Brisbane, have many sports facilities that are no longer needed or are falling into disrepair. It is now allowed by the IOC and I think it would be better if Brisbane shared the games with another city. For example Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth.
Now that the world is up again, you see
They don't have to market it, it's the olympics, every bed and ticket will still be sold. You really think the bid was won because other cities werent paying attention? No one else wanted it
Just getting there to Brisbane from Europe and the Americas will already be expensive enough.
Brisbane still has a beauty about it.
We got 8 years left till 2032 the planning should be finished right now and the building should begin. What the IOC is doing to Brisbane is testing whether they can spend as little as possible which won't work.
Solution:
1. Go big or go home, either go with gabber or Victoria Park because LA is gonna be a show stopper.
2. Advertise the games a year in advance to build up the hype for the games.
LA and Paris are actually examples of where the IOC is testing whether they can spend as little as possible. Both cities have a very small number of new permanent venues, in LA I believe no new permanent venues at all are planned.
Brisbane is planning a number of new permanent venues (I believe around 7), so this will be an expensive Games for the city to host.
The Brisbane games will probably end up being like the Athens and Rio Games, which both proved to be very expensive for their second tier city hosts.
@@gilbydog7350 not really. I'm pretty sure we'll use these facilities even after.
@@gilbydog7350 Only two facilities need to be built for the games - the athletics stadium and the white water centre. All of the the facilities have been scheduled whether or not Qld got the games. And if the Gabba had not been so shoddily built in the 90s the athletics would have been sorted as well.
I still remember the Sydney 2000 cauldron. I stood under it in 2002.
Don't invest in new stadiums, built proper rapid transit instead (tram, train, metro whatever), it will serve your city for way longer. Plus Brisbane has a fantastic river front with a beautiful skyline, so you can host the Olympic opening ceremony on the Brisbane river too!
Surely RayGun will be a part of this
Surely not.
Breaking already dropped as an Olympic sport. AOC won't renominate it for Brisbane either.
Raygun will be the main act for the opening ceremony 😂
Stephen Bradbury to light the cauldron
Nah, some just get some Brisbane bogan with a dropped cigarette! 🔥
It's the people that make a Games!
It sounds good, but it's not really. All the recent Olympic city hosts (Paris, London, Sydney, etc) have good people. It's big budgets, infrastrucutre, and venues that make the games. and of course the athletes, but elite athletes are in every Games.
@@gilbydog7350Ray Gunn was the exception in this year's Australian Olympic team.
They just have to do it their way and do it stressless.
Funny they complaining about building a 3 billion stadium but yet they want to do an useless facelift to such a small space who comes up with this rubbish they reject all this great projects
As a French, I beg the future olympics hosts to follow what Paris intends to initiate : organise as most as possible the ecolo-friendliest Olympics!
Please, do not start to destroy even more the Earth than the humanity is actually doing. It is just a complete non sense just to organize more memorable than a previous host city.
At the end, people will forget Olympic Games 2024 in 10 or 20 years. But the environmental cost of this event will impact the actual living people on our Earth
My opinion is that they have much time to prepare and it will be great olympics (as usual !) but very expensive. When the city has to build a new stadium (like Los Angeles), you know the bottom line will be negative.
LA is not building any new stadium. Everything is already built.
@lalakersfan88 yeah, the only thing people are really sweating about for LA28 is the traffic.
Waste of time and money Cancel it no one cares I use to not anymore and my friends don't spend the money on useful things more hospital how about a new DAM will need that in future.
Hoping that Billiards will be added to the 2032 Olympics.
look guys, as a Brisbane boy, I think this is a good opportunity to give the town a face life, its at least got its own Eiffel tower at la dolce vita restaurant
Got decent venues for all sports, decent accommodation and decent public transport systems? 😮
Well, maybe the millions of immigrants Australia is letting in will build it all? 😂
except they're not, they're gonna throw 3billion at Qsac for no good reason
The Gabba rebuild was the perfect option but NIMBY activists made it political. Bad, bad decision by Miles... and I am a Stephen Miles supporter.
Be'lakor for opening ceremony
Go Brizzy 💪👊!
Bro Brisbane isn’t half as good as Sydney or Melbourne. So what the heck
Queensland is not the most passionate about their sport
Fans are lame in Australia no atmosphere at games can’t sing songs properly
Go to European or South American football thats passion
Australia has a long long long way to go
Raygun will be 44 by then 🧐
@@russellhill7486 can still perform at the opening ceremony.
Move to Sydney!
0:15 huh? You make it sound like swimming in the seine was a highlight of the games 😂
It was. Everybody thought it would t be possible but the works done the previous years to clean the Seine and make swimmable again for Parisians worked. Every single event in the Seine took place and even athletes praised it.
@@brunol-p_g8800 Especially the dozens who were infected with E-coli.
Does any city not pollute their rivers? Fresh water is precious but not valued by humans.
How does Brisbane follow LA? Easy... Tom takes the flag from Paris. Keith from Caboolture takes the flag from California with a guitar over his shoulder.
Nope! Crocodile Dundee should 😂
So Brisbane bids for the Olympics and got no stadium to host the athletic??? The Gabba will expire in 2032 and need to be rebuilt anyway so why don't use this opportunity to do it. This stadium could be used after the Olympics anyway.
40k seats is tiny
It’s all we need. Considering cost of living struggles and advances in technology many people will just watch on their tv or stream it.
Think of the ticket prices! 😮 Leave Olympics for the tourists.
LA will be 60k. You won't notice the difference on TV and would barely in the stadium.
@@chriswatson7965 Los Angeles memorial coliseum capacity is 77500 in its standard form, during the two previous jos in LA its capacity was pushed to over 100,000 in 32 and 92,000 in 84, so LA will not be 60k...
Bring back Nikki Webster!
I think Brisbane's gonna beat the gayest opening ceremony of Paris if Kylie Minogue and Troye Sivan's gonna open.
Surely the cheapskate Olympics in Paris released pressure
If Brisbane is feeling pressure appoint Ashley Klein to the games
Brisbane is officially going to be a huge joke
Paris held the worst Olympics in history tainted by a woke discourse and a place where a man got a medal for hitting women in public. And let's not talk about the opening ceremony... at the moment the bar is set very low I would say, but I believe LA would raise it back, that's who we need to benchmark against.
What total nonsense. The bar is held extremely high due to Paris 2024. Take it from the spectators. Non Stadium Opening Ceremony. 95% Existing Venues. Fan Catwalks. Olympic Lounges. Public Marathon. Women's Marathon. PDC Medal. Strong ESG Reporting, Sustainability and Cost Control. Your petty little feelings about the Olympics being your so called "Woke" does not change the fact that it is these economic and managerial factors that are putting pressure on the next cities in line.
What nonsense. It was by far the best ever and I have experienced every one since 2000. Many people who were there with me agreed. Everything from the majestic venues, sustainability agenda, artistic performances and athletic spotlight were immaculate. B32 and LA28 have a lot of competition.
@@emmastokes-o3u The venues were great, Paris is magic in that sense with the exception of all the sh** in the Seine which made the swimmers sick. But I was coming from the perspective of the woke discourse, the disrespect for other faiths and the nonsense of letting men fight against women and stripping the medals from them.
