    I think the soldering iron which can use 220v in Thailand(Hex n hit comes fromThailand) so If you are in US, you should have a Adapter converting 110v to 220v. The soldering iron will be work. I hope that my comment can help you about that 😊

      Thani Small Leather Goods I think I just got a bad iron. I bought another here locally and the stamps work. I’ll try and put out another on branding. Thanks for watching.

    Good info, wished you would have hammered it in and see how it turned out that way.

      Robert Sadler look at 2:18 minutes. Or do you mean hammering with out the handle?

    Can it stamp fake leather just with the hammer tecnique?? Like sneakers or fake veg leather?? And around how much was the price? Over $100? Just an estimate to have an idea, thank you! Great video btw!

    Thanks for the great video Addictive Archery. Does this kit work on soft, finished leather as well? I have a computer bag to try...if you have experience with soft leather it would be of great help. Thank you!

    • @addictivearchery1123

      yellowsheep it depends on the type of finish on the leather. Some of the softer leather don’t take impressions well. The “soft” feel sometimes means the top surface is flexible meaning it won’t retain the shape of the stamp. Veg tan leather that is cased correctly is by far the easiest to stamp and tool that I have found.

      Patrick Monkman I can’t remember off hand what it cost. I know I sent them my design and they gave me a quote using that.

    Hi, May i ask about the press machine. Is it the hand press or electric/hydauolic press? Where can I buy it ?

    • @addictivearchery1123
      @addictivearchery1123  6 лет назад

      Sanaporn Sakulrattana hello. This is a hand press that was made by Tandy years ago. It is a dedicated stamp press. It has been discontinued and replaced by their new press that does stamps and hardware.

    When you hammered the small logo on the cased veg-tan, did the impression last?

  • @josesaca2185

    Hey there! In order to get that type of engraving on the leather, does the stamp has to do anything with it or is the pressure you put that does that?

    • @addictivearchery1123
      @addictivearchery1123  6 лет назад

      Jose Saca hi José. The mark left on the leather is due to the stamp and pressure. Some leather is easier to stamp than others but for the most part, if you create enough pressure it will leave a mark.

      Thank you so much for your reply! I've ordered mine already and will have it in a couple of days :) Hopefully is as good as yours.

      Addictive Archery hey! So I just got my stamp and I’m a little disappointed on the actual mark left on the leather. I am trying to use it on yellow, blue and red leathers, I’m not sure if that’s an issue because I can barely see the mark on it. I’m using just the press machine (similar to the one you have) and I try to apply as much pressure as I can and you can see it but not as marked as the ones you show on the video :(.. I was dumb enough that I didn’t order the hammerin handle, not sure if using that will leave a better mark, I will buy a soldering iron tomorrow and see if that works better, I only have a question, should I buy a 45 watts or 80 watts soldering iron? Does the watts really matter?

    • @addictivearchery1123
      @addictivearchery1123  6 лет назад

      It depends on how the leather is finished. A lot of the colored leathers have a hard finish when they are tanned that does not take tooling very well. I've found that if I add a spacer between the stamp and the piston on the press I'm able to apply more pressure. You could also try casing the leather.

      Hi Jose, have you wet the leather before stamping? (this might be obvious, but you didn't mention it)

    Does hammering it with a mallet work well on chrome tan leathers ?

      Syed Qayyum I’ve found that a press works the best to get a good even impression.

    Hey there, I watched a Hex and Hit video on branding ruclips.net/video/TN7p-wZxWx8/видео.html - and looks like you might try letting the stamp turn to a copper color before branding. Let me know if this helps any. I'm looking at purchasing the branding iron but would like to see if you have any luck with it.

    • @addictivearchery1123

      Hi Laura,
      My iron is not working any more. It started to smoke out the handle one day and now will no longer get hot enough to brand any thing. I would suggest buying a higher quality iron.
      The brass stamps on the other had are top notch. I would not hesitate to order the stamps from them again if I every had too. Thanks
