SuperTDSmith I never implied that it was another language. I simply made note of your horrible English skills. The fact that you misunderstood this only further proves my point that you don't understand the English language.
MrUnknowntaco It's copy and paste. I watched the first episode yesterday. The dialogue, the scenes, right down to the gestures are all what we have seen in breaking bad..except in spanish. Also, the guy who plays Walter Blanco is not very good...everything feels forced because he's basically mimicking what Bryan Cranston did.
The colombian scripter told to his actors:: "the script it is on this DVD, chapter 1, set to spanish sub and learn all the phrases and gestures; note: just change walter white for walter blanco, we start filming tomorrow at 9:00"
This is great for my beginning Spanish students, especially for those who have seen Breaking Bad. They know what's going to happen and they can focus on listening comprehension.

it'll divert. the columbian drug trade is far different than our's here in the state. for starters, their primary mode of function is shipping, not indulgence. while columbians do about as many drugs as most, they're mainly financiers. therefore, it's going to be interesting how things are handled once "gustavo" comes into play.
Eduardo Arias and you saw this contract? unless you have, what's to say what can and can't be filmed? often times, most adaptations veer into their own story to become it's own entity. Colombians have a different taste in fiction all together; and if the showrunners are smart, they'll taylor it more towards their liking....or at the very least, make it much more believable regarding cultural differences.
Of course, look at my name in the credits, I'm one of the producers in Colombia (although I'm from Venezuela). I had to see the freaking contract before agree on it.

This isnt an adaptation or remake of any sort, it is only Breaking Bad with different actors speaking spanish and with lower cost of making. This is a shameful disgrace, that's what it is. Hell, the SCRIPTS ARE THE SAME. I just browsed a few episodes on Netflix, checked out the "Ozymandias" begginig, it is the very same script WORD BY WORD. Seriously, what the fuck is this? I would consider classifying this as a remake or adaptation if had different characters, some different plot lines, all this while staying true to the original Breaking Bad concept. But no, it is just the same scenes re-filmed with different actors and different language. That's why they could finish the whole goddamn show in less than 6 months, all 60+ episodes until WALTER BLANCO dies and a crappy song starts playing instead of the excellent my baby blue. No one had to write anything !
Not everyone in the world has such easy access to the original Breaking Bad. This is entertainment for the people in Latin America who don't have the chance to watch good foreign TV shows. Good on Colombia to broadcast something a little different than mind-numbing telenovelas.
@@xaviergeissmann8231 everybody's got internet nowadays. They should instead search it in Netflix. It's both dubbed and subbed for Spanish speakers. I'm from Colombia (the country where this shameful rip-off was filmed) and I can tell you this show is not worth watching unironically unless you have abnormally low standards.
Fun fact: This won't be the only foreign remake for much longer, there is a South Korean remake in production, directed by Lee Chang-yeol, the first season is planned to come out this year, I just think it's interesting that this series will have two foreign remakes, I think the new one won't be as good as the original, but will likely be better than this one due to them being able to have a bigger budget, hopefully it's half as good as the original.
Everyone's so butthurt it's glorious. It actually looks really good; really good actors. The show has to be exactly the same because they're not the creators. It's just a Latin version. The actors don't seem good to you because they're different. That's just it. I remember when the original first started it took me a while to get over the fact that I wasn't watching Malcom's dad.
spanishforyou123 People could just watch a dubbed version. But they wanted to make this, probably for cultural reasons, who knows. Maybe more people watch a show when the characters actually speak their native language.
Señor Chang They have recently had plenty of TV shows like this, what are you talking about? El Cartel, El Capo, La Viuda Negra, Pablo Escobar, el Patron Del mal, La Reina del Sur etc. All are about drug cartels and crime bosses. It's actually kind of overloaded with those kind of shows.
This show looks like it will be awful. But the idea that Breaking Bad requires the original cast to retain quality is so narrow minded. When The Dark Knight was coming out fans everywhere complained that no one could match Nicholson's performance. Most agree Ledger surpassed it. All I'm saying is keep an open mind.
It might be pure bullshit to you. But to some of us it is pretty exciting. I have some family members that don't speak English, & I am exciting for them to see Metastasis, now they will be able to believe me that Breaking Bad is the best tv show out there. Enough with the criticism. They are putting the show out there for Latin Viewers, get over it
Dina J. People often miss out on a lot who only speak one language. There is some great acting in this clip. I wouldn't say it is BS but I do agree that Bryan and Aaron set a pretty high bar:-) But I feel the Spanish/Columbian version is going to explore another aspect of this story and I look forward to watching it.
I love Spanish/Latin remakes. Perfect for learning the language when you already know the plot. Just missing full subtitles on this show. Copy more, please.
I don't understand why there are so much thumbs down. I'm a big fan of breaking bad, and I think It's a pretty good remake made by fans in their country. This trailer was well done. I can't do something better than this. (Sorry if my english is bad i'm french)
It's not a fan remake, it is a Spanish language adaptation that takes place in Colombia. I'm not knocking it. I am just saying this is going to be a real show and not just some fan trailer.
You can fault this show for many things, but "metastasis" is actually a really apt name for this series. It all starts with cancer and spreads outward from there.
I don't get why this video has so many dislikes. Honestly I can't find anything wrong here. I read comments of people complaining about copy-paste, poor acting, parody etc. Let me point out some facts. First, I am from Greece and believe me I have seen a lot of "remakes" of popular foreign TV shows. The script differed a lot from the original, they only kept the basic idea. It was AWFUL. Seriously. Besides there are so many people from Colombia who haven't watched Breaking Bad for some reason. So, this "copy-paste" may give them the urge to search for the original series. People get this as a parody and I don't blame them. It is completely normal after watching the absolute masterpiece, Breaking Bad. But, give "Metastasis" a chance, they seemed to put a lot of effort to make it look EXACTLY like the original, it's terrific that even the camera angles are the exact same as at the original! Even the places that it was filmed seem very fammiliar to me.
Why is everybody so pissed? It's just a remake of a great show for viewers that aren't fluent in English. My family is Colombian and most of them don't speak much English. I know for a fact that they will LOVE this! I'm excited that my family will get to experience this great show that we all know and love! And if you don't know any spanish or have already watched the show, guess what?? Nobody is forcing you to watch!
actually it doesn't, and I'm saying why would they go with a remake when its unnecessary and a worse option. And why would you want to defend it, looks like you have the desire to be a bitch.
To be fair, the standard of acting set be Breaking Bad's cast may as well be god-tier. While I'm willing to give Walter Blanco and Jose Miguel Rosas a pass, I'm REALLY worried with how they're going to handle Gus Fring.
To all people who say that this adaptation is terrible, just think about it for a second. This is basically the same story, the same scenarios and the same ideas with almost no changes whatsoever other than the obvious, and the acting is pretty decent. If you say that this is a bad series then you say the same about Breaking Bad, so don't be absurd.
Your argument is shit, it's a terrible adaptation due to the simple fact that, by your own admission, it has no reason to exist. Tell me; if this is a scene-by-scene remake of Breaking Bad, literally down to the hand motions the actors make, then why should I bother even watching this when I can get the same experience, guaranteed to be excellent, by just rewatching the original series? Let's take the US adaptation of The Office, for example. If you ask a fan about the quality of the first season, most would respond that it's pretty poor because it's basically a straight adaptation of the U.K. Series, with Michael Scott just being an americanized version of David Brent and each episode re-enacting plots from the original series. It's almost universally agreed that the series exponentially improved in quality the moment it started going in its own direction and actually fleshed out Michael Scott to make him completely different from the original series (from a pathetic narcissist to well meaning but incompetent). Now let's take the 1998 remake of Psycho, which was universally panned by critics specifically because it was just a shot-by-shot remake of the original Hitchcock movie; why bother wasting your time with this one when the original did the same thing, only better? Just because you're making an adaptation of a prior existing work, doesn't mean you have an excuse to be unoriginal.
JovesLikeMagger Why should you bother watching this adaptation? the answer is you shouldn't. This adaptation is made by Colombians for Colombians and Latin american audiences, who have no interest whatsoever on you watching or liking this. This is quite simply a brilliant story adapted to our culture for our enjoyment, like many others. If you don't have any interest on watching it then you should have no reason to hate on it, other than infantile jealousy.
That's right! Many shows on American networks are remakes from British originals. Remaking a show to accommodate for a country culture isn't a new thing and America has been doing it all along.
Exactly. Homeland, House of Cards, The Office, ect. All adapted American remakes from foreign TV shows. What pisses me off even more is that fact that so many people on the internet are willing to jump on the moralist bandwagon when a politician or celebrity pulls some racist shit, but look what's happening right now in the comments section. Bunch of close minded, hypocritical cocksuckers.
Yeah, this unnecessary. But how hypocrite of americans to bash a remake when they only would watch remakes of British TV series, even though they are in the same language!
You said it, dude! And I often have to ask myself why they took some great shows that can`t be done better. If a remake needs to be, then why not taking some shit-show and turn it into something special?
Why all the hate? If we remake it, it means we love the British version so much that we're paying homage to it. Like the Office - both versions were fantastic. There's nothing wrong with remaking something as long as the credit goes where its due.
David Clark Are you serious? If a remake is going to be done, then it`s all about making fast money without giving any kind of effort! THAT is reason why well known stuff is remade. For example this incredible unnecessary US-Version of Oldboy or this damned US-Sherlock called Elementary. The same crap like this Latin-version of Breaking Bad. If you want to make a hommage to something. Then you`ll take just some scenes or moments and quote sparely in you own original product. Like Tarantino did in Django Unchained. But not the whole piece of work somebody else created.
there's no problem with remake. However, the problem with this fucking remake is that it just apply the same dialogue and scene of the original show, with inferior quality and acting

I think I am the only one than thinks this is going to be very good, no as good as BB, but every BB fan wants to see more, and this can help. Colombia has produced good histories, like some years ago they created the most famous TV soap opera than has ever existed ("bety la fea", btw, USA created an adaptation of this),and the pablo escobar series was very good too, so, I think this adaptation at least deserves a chance.
In fact, if they want to make the whole story fitting in the context of Colombia, it will be cool to watch. However, a scene-to-scene adaptation will be just bad...since BB has its American context.
inferno0020 That is the way I see it. If the adaption fits Colombia (even if it does follow the basic concept and plot) than it will be quite good and possibly even take the show in interesting new areas. If they try to cram a round peg in a square hole then it will suck.
I remember when the first season of Breaking Bad aired... everyone was being so judgmental and called it boring. Then look what happened.... it became the greatest show of all time. My god, I'd watch the shit out of this. Its hilarious how accurate this is to Breaking Bad Season One's Script.
It is not a remake, is just a copy+paste
Fernando Luna Fukumoto No its a remake.
The colombian scripter told to his actors:: "the script it is on this DVD, chapter 1, set to spanish sub and learn all the phrases and gestures; note: just change walter white for walter blanco, we start filming tomorrow at 9:00"
Fernando Luna Fukumoto That is literally the point

This is great for my beginning Spanish students, especially for those who have seen Breaking Bad. They know what's going to happen and they can focus on listening comprehension.
If you want your students to cringe to death, yeah, it's great.

Yes.
AwesomeBrickSauce It's not that they can't get the english version, anyone who has internet can get it. It's just that they want to make a latino version of the series to make it more "relatable" for them which subsequently means poorer writing, acting and a overall sense of unoriginality.

Breaking Bad is not Breaking Bad without Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul. This is, if you'll excuse me, pure bullshit.
Even the places that it was filmed seem very fammiliar to me.
it’s exactly the same scene for scene. i love it!
Why is everybody so pissed? It's just a remake of a great show for viewers that aren't fluent in English.

Las series y novelas Colombianas son las mejores de América latina
To all people who say that this adaptation is terrible, just think about it for a second.
This is basically the same story, the same scenarios and the same ideas with almost no changes whatsoever other than the obvious, and the acting is pretty decent.
If you say that this is a bad series then you say the same about Breaking Bad, so don't be absurd.
the acting is actually great. you have to understand colombian television. this is a step up from their typical bullshit "novella" approach.
not the same actors, nor the same charisma, neither the same acting thus it's only bullshit
If you don't have any interest on watching it then you should have no reason to hate on it, other than infantile jealousy.
gonzayare because its an adaptation... fuck I cant believe how difficult it is for people to understand the meaning of the word ADAPTATION!
US rip offs foreign shows, no one bats an eye. Foreign country remakes US show the fan boys go crazy.
Thank you
That's right! Many shows on American networks are remakes from British originals. Remaking a show to accommodate for a country culture isn't a new thing and America has been doing it all along.
Exactly
Wrong. English people act the same way and always say "the English version is way better."
David Clark
Are you serious? If a remake is going to be done, then it`s all about making fast money without giving any kind of effort! THAT is reason why well known stuff is remade. For example this incredible unnecessary US-Version of Oldboy or this damned US-Sherlock called Elementary. The same crap like this Latin-version of Breaking Bad.
If you want to make a hommage to something. Then you`ll take just some scenes or moments and quote sparely in you own original product. Like Tarantino did in Django Unchained. But not the whole piece of work somebody else created.
there's no problem with remake. However, the problem with this fucking remake is that it just apply the same dialogue and scene of the original show, with inferior quality and acting
and they even copy the fucking intro
cant believe they actually copied this masterpiece and made an english version

I think I am the only one than thinks this is going to be very good, no as good as BB, but every BB fan wants to see more, and this can help.
Colombia has produced good histories, like some years ago they created the most famous TV soap opera than has ever existed ("bety la fea", btw, USA created an adaptation of this),and the pablo escobar series was very good too, so, I think this adaptation at least deserves a chance.
In fact, if they want to make the whole story fitting in the context of Colombia, it will be cool to watch. However, a scene-to-scene adaptation will be just bad...since BB has its American context.
inferno0020
That is the way I see it. If the adaption fits Colombia (even if it does follow the basic concept and plot) than it will be quite good and possibly even take the show in interesting new areas. If they try to cram a round peg in a square hole then it will suck.
Name me one single decent drama (straight) remake in the history of TV shows or movies.
I remember when the first season of Breaking Bad aired... everyone was being so judgmental and called it boring. Then look what happened.... it became the greatest show of all time. I think this will be good, not as brilliant as the original, but good.
