The music in Doug was legendary, you didn’t really notice as a kid because you were just vibing with Doug, but the music was really unique, fun and well done, plus, a ton of ukulele!!! Pork chop was always playing uke!
Nah listening to all the scatting you knew it was special, all the music was fire yet different from my normal Motown hip hop upbringing. I loved it and till this day I know a lot of the songs.
The chord on the guitar at 2:12 is the sonic amalgamation of everything wonderful about my childhood. Just four notes, and it captures everything I loved and miss deeply about this time.
2:02-3:50 I was in tears reliving the old Nick toon days and the nostalgia. I’ve every single Doug episode ever made and loved the show and still do! 🤓🤓🤓
It's funny how my quickly my brain went from "huh, that's a little weird seeing a couple of old voice actor dudes gearing up for a concert," but as soon as I heard the beatboxing and those first four notes on the guitar, I'm a nostalgic puddle of happy tears. It has to be similar to watching Jim Henson turn a puppet into Kermit.
If someone saw this and didn't know what it was they'd think it was weird. This whole thing really touched me and channeled my inner child. I can remember hearing these sounds while drinking a kool aid burst as a young child in long island. Only in the 90s
My favorite cartoon score ever! When it comes to the 90's, I will never take off my rose tinted glasses. Best decade to be a kid hands down. I'm so thankful i got a taste of when life was still sweet, sigh* sadly life has soured over these past 20 Years
Honestly, the best riff in Doug was the love theme (the one they play first). It feels really timeless. It's a shame they couldn't really pull the Beets stuff together.
There IS a Doug score and I put it up on a playlist! Definitely take a look, it might make you happy. Keep in mind that there's more than one song per video.
@@poiisonivy8937 Haha Skeeter has always been my favourite character, his voice actor has great talent and I kinda want disney continue the story of Doug
Oh, man ... this is soooo nostalgic. Thank you, Fred Newman and Dan Sawyer, for being part of my adolescence and for seeing music in a simple and magical way!!!
I don't even know how to describe how this simple show..along with the music was able to make such a wonderful yet emotional show. Anyone else understand what I am saying? Hearing this brings back those feelings.
It’s amazing the lasting impression these little noises had on my memory. I watched Doug when I was 7 or 8 and even now 30 years later I Can remember these so vividly.
who rember the episode when he went to the concert...I dreamed of being a grown up an doing that. it was a magical episode ....it captured some of the magic of a night like that.
Oh boy, this is my childhood in a freaking video! Didn’t know how much Doug background music I would recognize lol. And when that guitar first comes in at 2:13 on the theme, I got chills!
The love of this music is exactly why I do my 90's recaps. So much fun to re experience these amazing shows again. to put it all back together so no one forgets. (0's cartoons have some crazy underrated music, look at "Hey Arnold" lol.
You can just tell they put so much heart & effort into this series. I miss my childhood. Things seemed to matter to people more back then. At least we still have this. Doug was one of the best cartoons of our generation.
I’m so happy I showed my girlfriend this! We both watched Doug when we were younger and didn’t know each other and now we know each other and know this. Cool
02:13 cuando suena esa guitarra es inevitable que no te salga esa sonrisa, es simplemente magico. Es como si me encontrara un instante con el niño de 8 años que veia doug los sabados por la mañana
Wow, so I finally get to see the guy behind all of those wacky sounds and vocalizations that made Doug so awesome. Not to mention that AMAZING music. I love it. Shame he forgot the lyrics to Killer Tofu though! And the voice sounded way off. Oh well, was still neat to watch. Wish you could buy the complete Doug soundtrack on a CD. I'd love to have full versions of a lot of the show's unique music, like the "Athletic" theme that plays when Doug joins the football team and the music that plays on the Lucky Hat episode. It was all soo good.
There was never an official CD to buy in stores, but there was one handed out to people who worked on the show. I uploaded that CD to a playlist if you wanna check it out :)
boblen221 I tried, I'm not really sure how to do that. I clicked on your name and it just took me to your Google + profile. I didn't see a link to your youtube channel there.
Fred Newman is a great actor comedian and a good sound effects artist he’s good at making noise through his mouth I remember him from Doug and between the lions
Dois senhores maravilhosos! Obrigado por existirem e fazer parte da minha infância da melhor maneira que se pode ter feita! Vcs serão eternos na minha vida e de muitos que curtiram Doug lances funnie!
Holy crap, these guys are so freaking crazy! I love it! I always killed myself wondering where in the world they got those crazy sounds from in the cartoon!
This dude engraved his weird sounds into my memory forever, what a mad man.

Don't forget the Mickey Mouse Club! Fred is a legend!
Yes it was
The musical vibe was almost entirely why I liked Doug.
I've been doing the "Chika-pt-ah" sounds ever since I first heard it years ago. This is so great
2 older gents having fun while bringing back my childhood........i love it

I've been watching "Doug" on Hulu lately, and it's just as good as I remember it to be.
Yo I've been watching it non-stop too. Omg I love this show!!!

@@poiisonivy8937 surprisingly it has aged very well. I have been watching it too. It had a very quirky unique style. It hasn't lost any charm.

Me too. That would awesome❤
🎶I NEEEED MO’ ALLOWANCE!!🎶
It already exists look it up, it just tracks from the show but there is an official album
I wish I could like this a thousand times. Seriously, so much nostalgia it's emotional.
Doug inspired me to start writing in a diary. I’ve been writing in journals since 1996, and it’s all because of this show! Good times!
5:05!!! That little tune used to be stuck in my brain for days when I was a kid.

I hear you!!
I'm a grown man smiling watching this with a smile. What's wrong with me
The voice talent on all these shows back in the day was on another level
he actually does the teeth thing when he does the Mr. Dink voice.
Not even afraid to write the comment. This made me cry for my childhood. I miss it like hell.
"I eat my sugar cereal, but it makes my teeth BACTERIAL!"
When you're feeling kinda cruddy just stick right by your buddy
And don’t you try to eat to to too much fried fooood!
“O-WEE-O, KILLER TOFU! AWEEA”
Heavy lyrics!
This was my jam as a kid

This music was such a big part of my youth.
This brought me back to my childhood watching Doug. I had the biggest smile on my face. Good times! 👍🏽👏🏽
If I Die Young I want these people to play at my funeral
Honestly, the best riff in Doug was the love theme (the one they play first). It feels really timeless. It's a shame they couldn't really pull the Beets stuff together.
Straight up as soon as I heard it I heard Doug say Patty Mayonaise
Yeah it was kind of weird, they just couldn’t get on track with the Beets. And at one point it seemed like he couldn’t remember the lyrics.
God bless Doug Newman. Why isn't there a DOUG score?!?!?! I'd buy it in a heartbeat!
There IS a Doug score and I put it up on a playlist! Definitely take a look, it might make you happy. Keep in mind that there's more than one song per video.
this i took xtc and listened to the doug score almost ten years ago and my real name is doug lol
There is a RARE CD. From 1994. Which shows. Most of the score
Also it’s Fred Newman
This has got to be the coolest thing ever. I would pay to see this
Thank You Fred Newman & Dan Sawyer for contributing to my amazing childhood 🤩

Literally would pay to see them sing killer tofu and the theme song alone. Like a whole 90’s nostalgia themed concert! It would be lovely ❤️
I always liked banging on a trashcan, that was my personal favorite.

The one where Doug and Skeeter got stuck at the Diner and met the Beets and rode with them to the show?
Oh boy, this is my childhood in a freaking video! Didn’t know how much Doug background music I would recognize lol. And when that guitar first comes in at 2:13 on the theme, I got chills!
This is great. Way more entertaining than majority of mainstream music these days
I loved Doug. There was such a strong visual art and music presence in it .
I'm....gonna go watch Doug now. Thank you 🤩😆
Fred Newman is a an Amazing actor and a Really Good Sound effects master He was Skeeter on Doug and I recognized him In Between The Lions
Never knew this happened...
- King - right and like where? Total wtf , probably Oregon seems where all this type of stuff happens.
I just exploded from the nostalgia.
Amanda F.
right..?!
Crazy that all the sound effects from the show is made by one man.
If only these guys knew the impact they would have. I still catch my self scatting like this guy from time to time.
Watching this video brought me so much joy & some tears too!
Thanks!
I feel like this is why I am so weird 🤣
Little bear. Doug. Rocket power.
I love how they tried to fake us out by starting with the whack ass Disney version before doing the real version that we all wanna hear
This was such an awesome performance!!!!!
As a kid I often wondered what instruments were used to make these sounds…crazy how a big part of it comes from one man’s mouth.
Take me back to the days of Doug. 🤘🙏❤️
I'm literally crying in 2019
It’s because of you guys I hum this everyday, literally everyday
Doug had some pretty hilarious themes, especially the theme starting at 5:05
The sushi restaurant was another gem
This was the music they played whenever something silly was going on
The egg song
I NEED MORE ALLOWANCE!!
I seem to remember it when Doug was at the nurse's office, trying to make up an illness, and the nurse sent his ass right back to class. 😂
Man this was so much cooler than I thought it was gonna be.
*puts up lighter and sways in audience*
Mad lads. Forever ingrained in a generation. Hope they're doing well.

That Killer Tofu song is so awesome. Love the hook
The only nostalgic video that could double as a catatonic youths video. I love Doug!
That was amazing. Thanks for a great childhood.
Also I worked at a music store for years during high school and college and am only just now realizing that THAT'S how you play a nose flute

Bill Clinton is more talented than I thought.
Doug Gresham Haha, I thought the same thing, but it's not him. I don't think Bill could pull off that Skeeter impersonation so well!
Doug Gresham Plus he's a lot thinner than Clinton, lol
Eugene Rossi Hahaha you are right. I enjoyed the video. He really is talented, making all those unusual sounds and all.
