Well, glad I'm not the only person who uses this method! Two people who've never spoken before but use the same technique can't be wrong, right?
these two peeps gotta be on to something!!!
@@liveandletfly oh for sure!
Excellent video! Will add that you could do voice-overs for Rod Serling.
Good tip brother. Thanks for the video
Hahaha, you said good "tip"! 😅
This was really good information
Thank You
This was a lot more than fixing inserts. 😂
I like to be thorough 😅 You ever have a friend that asks you to come over and help lift one little thing? Then before you know it there's also 20 other things you're helping him with? Yeah, I'm THAT guy 🤣
Would Boiling water , do the same job..if you don't have a Butane torch ?
With my limited knowledge of PVC conduits/PEX pipes, I can't say for certain if it will or will not change with heat gun vs water bath! However, I doooooo know these pipes are designed to use with water up of 60°C or 140°F MAX.
PVC deflects at 150.8°F or 66°C, this is when it nolonger holds shape while under load.
The melting point is 185°F or 85°C, this is when it becomes liquid--and definitely NOT an archery bow! 😅
I suspect any hot-water bath, or oven" consistently held between 150-185°F or 66-85°F could help sous-vide the PVC up to and keep at workable temperature conditions! :-D
Let me know what you end up doing! I'm fascinated by your idea!
Good luck!
Also a drop of generic hot glue on thread will keep points from vibrating out.
Great tip!~hAHAHAH...I said "tip"...
Are Duramax hot glue sticks the same as Stanley Dualmelt sticks?
Those will work! Go fix your arrows, then make some holes! 😁
It's so annoying how the archery shops won't sell you the correct inserts. Or I have to rig something at home to get the head on. Or just glue it. They always want you to buy their arrows.
So what do you do when you can't unscrew the field point from the insert? I hit the Bigfoot and smashed right into the steel frame of it. I got the insert out. Cut it back about an inch to cut off the damaged carbon. Now i just can't get off the field point.
two sets of pliers or vise grips is my go too…expect at minimum some minor damage both though…but should still be reuseable if you want to!
bear-able!
🤣
can you tell me the insert shaft outside diameter pls as i would like to make my own
The shafts I use are about 6.2mm inside diametre!
Gangsta
You bet!
@@liveandletfly brother man I want you to make more videos on everything
Shoot at a box full of old clothes not at bricks and anvils 🤣
Ah! Brick walls…yeah…those work extremely well for stopping (and destroying) arrows!! 🤣
