ANY buisness man like Shane that keeps a brick and mortar drum store open during a time of the internet deserves much much more than this awesome drum set
I'm guessing DCP has an internet presence. In fact, I know they do. I've bought several things from them. Great bunch of guys that really know their stuff. Great videos, too.
You do realize that most of their sales are online, right? He doesn't have to "keep a brick-and-mortar store open" because he runs a boutique shop that carries drums most other stores don't have and he's had a huge presence on RUclips for years too.
Unboxing of a lifetime! Well deserved, laddie! Shane is one of the most kind, considerate, and finest quality humans I’ve met in my 60 years! Get yourself to his drum Mecca!
I agree! Stop shopping at the box stores or online with super mega company. The prices are great and you will NOT get better customer service. 90% of the time the price is exactly what you find out there on the internet. They will be right up front with you with good advice. Shane gave me advice on electronic drums 7 years ago that still holds true today. He told me to spend more money. The 400 dollar e-kit was not going to cut it and was not going to be the best to learn on. This was back in the old store and he had nothing to sell me e-drum wise. He was right! I have spent 1000's of dollars that I didn't need to. I said GOOD advice not that I took his advice. 🙂We have experienced the down fall of locally run music retailers because of the domination of Guitar Center. I love this store and it makes me happy to go in there and see a ton of people on a Saturday. It reminds me of the old days going into that Junky music store and just spending a hour looking at my next thing. BTW bring your wallet! You're going to need it! 😋
Wow! Thats thing is just mental haha! Good on you for going all out! After all we only live once and for an uknown amount of time. Hope it brings you all the drum joy you've dreamed it could!
Shane, me and my wife are watching together, and she said, "He looks like he's building a Fort, and he looks like he's never coming out...... I wonder if he played with Army men as a kid?" Shane, I just had to share, and knowing your "love" for Sonor, I think I'm smelling what's cooking....... (you'd be surprised what I'm thinking, but I better not say and start rumors). Enjoy them! They are GORGEOUS and sound GREAT..... now get yourself a perfect swivel throne and share your enjoyment because right now, this old Drummer is playing vicariously! Peace and Blessings Shane! By the way Shane, this is One Phenomenal Presentation! Well done!!!
And thats y after endless hrs of comparing drums Pearl Tama Ludwig my choice was the choice I knew it was going to be the drummers choice DW, which was my first choice but since you are the greatest drugstore on the planet and put out 6 million comparison videos you had me doubting myself but I’m glad I finally made a decision of buying the greatest drums from the greatest drum store And I’m sure I speak for everyone. I appreciate the sacrifices you’ve made for us.
This set is exactly what want. Everyone has a story and this belongs in mine!.Every facet of this configuration fulfills my musical needs. As anyone passionately purchasing an instrument of a lifelong dream I plan to save up acceptable deposit and set an appointment to visit DCP this year to demo it if possible and see about ordering and financing it. The only wish I'd ask for is a possibility that every person involved in the entire process, from start to finish (materials sourcing, parts and finish production, management and assembly, packing, shipping and DCP Sales, to simply add a few lines regarding their contribution go into a small story booklet to go inside the gong drum and nicely burn their personal signatures in order of involvement outside the gong drum wall where the drummer/owner can see it as a Drum Set Heritage. Be sure to leave fine signature lines and space page in back of booklet for future owners. Because if I'm going to buy it you can for damn sure be sure I'm going to be proud to play it and pass it on to future percussionists. Glenn Cheetham Tunkhannock, PA.
I can’t even find the right words to describe this kit, it’s simply a phenomenal sounding and looking DW kit, honestly one of the best I’ve ever heard. That’s about all the drums I want for my dream DW kit, and the maple/mahogany shells are some of the best DW offer. And the tuning on this kit, and all the other kits you guys have is second to none. Fantastic video everyone, hope to come by the shop some day down the road!
The drums sound great, but what really touched me was Shane's story at the end. The way he expresses his gratitude and explains why DW means so much to him and the sincerity with which he does it is genuinely moving. DCP is unmatched. Congrats Shane!
All I want is Gretsch BroadKaster in 12”, 14” toms, an 18” kick and an extra 20” kick for big band. All in Satin Walnut. And I’ll never be able to afford them. Ever. It breaks my heart every day. I’ve got a quote from you guys. It’ll never happen. Watching this makes me want to cry. 😞
I walked into a store for a hi hat clamp saw 2 collectors kits for sale I fell in love with one went back next day and tried them out then picked them up the following weekend when my wife was at a bachelorette party. Timing was perfect. My favorite kit I’ve played🥁🔥 I love watching the DW videos of Don and John
Shane! Awesome video and most awesome was your description of YOUR vsion when you were discussing DWs vision and ethic! . I have an awesome Dw kit from 2005 and love it and appreciate the workmanship and mostly the amazing sound of the kit. Likewise, l truly admire your story and true dedication to the drum community!
I am a busy drummer. I too have a 15 piece kit, but Tama. I LOVE having that many drums available. Once you have them set up in a more permanent setting and play them for a while, you'll start to figure out exactly where you want everything, and how you can better position everything to make it both more compact without having to eliminate gear, and ergonomic for you and your playing style. It may take some very careful adjustments here and there, and maybe two or three complete reorganizations (take pictures of what works as you go), but it's so satisfying once you find the sweet spot for everything. I'm also an open handed player, and with 4 floor toms, it made it very easy to split them with two on each side, which also gave me a more relaxed playing position and more powerful floor tom playing because I could hit two without having to twist my body to one side of the kit. Have fun!
Yikes. A stage hand's nightmare. "I'm a busy player" Well, cost sunk fallacy means you need to hit every drum and cymbal every time, so it better be busy...
just wow, beautiful , you have great taste. sound is killer. i love when someone gets the kids face when he as a new toy, shane got that look while opening the boxes. well deserved.
This kit sounds as amazing as any of the most impressive kits you've reviewed on here, which, all things considered, is hardly surprising. So much musical tone and low end. I have to wonder if some part of that comes from the fact that the kit is so big, and how much sympathetic resonance must be coming off a load of drums, including a load of big ones whenever you playing on one of the others. Something else that really stands out is how pleasing the closer pitch intervals between the 12", 13", and 14" toms are relative to what we're used to hearing from most kits with 2" or 4" size intervals. So happy for you.
Reminds me of the huge Gretsch kit in their poster/catalogue in the 80's!! The difference being the massive hardware(cymbal stands) Gretsch offered back then.
Shane, greetings from the other side of the country, the Pacific Northwest in Washington state. Thank you so much for letting me open, set up, and play such a beautiful drum set, even if it is vicariously. I can only imagine what it feels like to sit behind and play such a gorgeous piece of artistic beauty. You are a very fortunate young man, my friend.
I purchased an 8 piece DW maple mahogany kit with African chechian wrap 14 months ago .They are arriving next week .after listening to yours. I can’t wait to get mine.very excited. Thanks for a wonderful unboxing.
You can see the sheer joy and happiness as he's unwrapping those drums. They are absolutely beautiful but I would not want the responsibility of tuning them!!! LOL.
That is one of the most Beautiful ,Amazing, Complete Drum Sets I have ever seen !!! Thankyou for sharing this with us. It's hard to pick a favorite maker. But if I had to it would be D.W. .
Well done, as always, Shane. Your eloquent words describing the history of the company, The drums, the sounds, and your motivation is exceptional. Best of luck with the new kit.
Hello from Sweden 🇸🇪 I just love this channel! And what a wonderful drumkit! I would love to play those drums😊 I started to play drums when I was 8 years old, and I am 60 now and it's still fun. Shane, you are a lucky guy😊
Sounds amazing and looks amazing too!! Makes me sentimental about DW too. Hope to being able to afford a Collectors soon, so that I can enjoy the heritage of John and Don as long as it's there! ❤
WOW!!! Awesome kit. Fun video too. Sounds fantastic!!! Thanks for sharing I know your are enjoying your new kit!!! Also thanks for the great customer service over the years. Loyal and longtime DCP customer in TEXAS. Keep swinging and all good things!!!
Great video. Beautiful kit. Very heartfelt monologue at the end. That was textbook small business entrepreneurship 101. Well deserved kit and success. Many more great kits and much success for years to come.
Hahah, incredible. Sounding and looking. Second only to Bozzio. Striking fear in the hearts of all house sound guys. Sick🤘Glad your coming around on the wood finish.
WOW What a kit! 😎 My dream kit is also a DW maple/mahogany double kick drums 2 or 3 up and 2 down, I would also change the top heads to Aquarian Focus X clear and the batter heads on the kicks with Aquarian Force 1 clear heads, drumheads really is a personal choice for every drummer out there! Enjoy the MEGA kit Shane I hope you get to record and gig them live someday, All the best Janus
So glad you guys decided to do this. Infinitely better than any video just showing a kit of this magnitude. Shane is one of us in this video. His reaction is how we'd all react unboxing our dream kits. No jealousy. Can't be jealous of anyone living their dreams. Just joy. But also: that's a bloody amazing kit. So many drums. Great sounding drums and from what you're telling us, you deserve them. DW makes a great product and they where lightyears ahead of everyone else in terms of inovation and custom options. Lets' hope they keep innovating and maintain the quality standard we're used to.
It’s so nice to see someone play a big drum kit. The trend has been everybody play a four piece kit lately. Maybe larger drum sets will come back in style!

Unbelievable! That kit sounds so damn good! Those kicks are amazing! I felt like I was a kid on Christmas morning! Thanks for sharing your kit with all of us.
Beautiful presentation, Shane! Congratulations on this milestone, the best drum store founder deserves such an amazing kit. Thanks for letting us see and hear it
That is truly SICK! Reminds me of the last time I saw Genesis in Ottawa about 12 years ago and Chester had switched to DW! The same finish I believe and similar sizes but a single kick. Love the 23" that The Professor made so popular! It must be like Christmas at your place! I hope to visit your store someday!
The ULTIMATE Christmas morning unboxing even if it's in August! Beautiful finish inside and out and fantastic sound! From an "old" drummer, I'm happy to see toms mounted on the bass drums. Best of luck with the new kit Shane! You certainly deserve it! And as someone who was actively playing a lot at that time, perfect telling of the DW story.
Thankyou Shane and Congratulations! that is an amazing drumkit,I'm shure your going to enjoy it! You may need a trunck to take in any where however.Really cool kit! Thanks again.

I want one too 😭😭😭. wait a minute, i'm not even a drummer. lol
Something tells me my z06 was cheaper than this DW.
Not to mention Not much of this kit will fit in the z06.
hahahaha
That's just a thing of beauty
Something tells me my new car was cheaper.
Depends - he gets it at cost so who knows
They sound as good as they look. I wanna hire you to tune my kit!
Wow! Thats thing is just mental haha! Good on you for going all out! After all we only live once and for an uknown amount of time. Hope it brings you all the drum joy you've dreamed it could!
Being the owner of DCP certainly has its perks! A truly beautiful kit Shane, may it bring you years of enjoyment. All the best to all at DCP.
It sure does and thanks!
The drums in the picture at 16:35 (Tama ASII) have maple shells XD
Now THIS is the kit of a BOSS!! Much respect always DCP!! TOP NOTCH!! 💯 🥁
Thanks and yes, rather fitting for the BOSS!

SHAKE MY HEAD. THAT KIT IS PHENOMENAL AND I SOUNDS LIKE HEAVEN. I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO AFFORD A DW KIT. BUT I WOULD LOVE TO PLAY THAT KIT.
Wow, the panning reverses when the camera switches angles. Well done, mixer dude/dudess.

I thought this video was a joke when it was announced. So glad it was not a joke. This is SO COOL!

I purchased an 8 piece DW maple mahogany kit with African chechian wrap 14 months ago .They are arriving next week .after listening to yours. I can’t wait to get mine.very excited. Thanks for a wonderful unboxing.

Great looking drum set love the concert toms and the bigger double head rack toms and the gong drum. Enjoy it for many years to come.
Your older brother and also monster kit owner Todd Suchermann is really proud of you!
Shane your timing and playing improved so much. Congrats on the beautiful kit.🎉
I think it’s safe to say everyone is happy for you to have this dream kit!!! Well done and deserved.
Sounds amazing and looks amazing too!! Makes me sentimental about DW too. Hope to being able to afford a Collectors soon, so that I can enjoy the heritage of John and Don as long as it's there! ❤
Over the top awesome!!!!!!! Way to hang'em out there!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah, Tom tuning was spot on to showcase that tone!
Glad you liked it!!
Awesome kit, Shane! You deserve it! I can remember when you didn’t sell DW. I bet you are glad you do now!
Got yourself a genuine bonafide Simon Phillips sized kit there bro! Enjoy!
Watching this and seeing your reaction made me nearly as happy as if I were unboxing it myself. 😆 This kit is so classy!
I loved the unboxing and the playing, but the history lesson & personal experience sharing at the end is the real 💎
Thanks for watching the whole thing!
They sound and look awesome you are a lucky man.
Hahah, incredible. Sounding and looking. Second only to Bozzio. Striking fear in the hearts of all house sound guys. Sick🤘Glad your coming around on the wood finish.
Shane! That's nuts man! Awesome! Love it! Rock N Roll! Keep Rockin'! 😀👍👍DC
Thank you! Glad you dig it!
Congratultions for this fabulous kit and thanks for your kind words about dw. I think I must have a dw kit 🙂
So many lovely drums.
The toms sound extremely good! Congrats Shane!
Thanks and totally agree!
I would love to play on that drum kit ❤
Great sounding drums and from what you're telling us, you deserve them. DW makes a great product and they where lightyears ahead of everyone else in terms of inovation and custom options. Lets' hope they keep innovating and maintain the quality standard we're used to.
I don't normally watch the unboxing videos but .. this one I couldn't miss!! Congratulations!!! 🎉
Awesome kit Shane!! Congrats on your beautiful dream kit and the sound like a DREAM!!
Very Nice Kit Shane!!! really enjoyed enjoyed the story of the commemoration to Don and John. what a great reason to buy this kit. Congratulations!
It’s so nice to see someone play a big drum kit. The trend has been everybody play a four piece kit lately. Maybe larger drum sets will come back in style!
They sound out of this world
Not shocked that your "old standby" took a backseat this time around. Sonically, you're in the same zip code but maybe a little fuller on the low mids and bass. It's a great looking and sounding kit chosen at the right season for all the right reasons. And like I've said before, several of the key elements that made your "old love interest" reign at the top of the food chain for so long are no longer part of the program. Hey, special steel at mass quantity costs money, right?
And since we no longer have to worry about shells being in-round at the top of the price line, or bearing edges being sloppily cut, or not being able to get 6 standard shell types with an additional 10 available combinations(!)...good lord. It really IS a custom market that can be tailored to the n'th degree, just as it should be.
Congratulations, Shane; it's a winner!
Congrats man- smokin kit!!
Such a beautiful kit and fully deserved. Congrats from the UK
Drums sound incredible..
Absolutely massive! And what a finish! Great playing at 6:53.
I like that lick too!
That's the life! It's good to see you enjoy this kit!
Thanks for letting us see and hear it
Shane Bozzio is your new name ! Amazing kit, amazing sound, and beautiful story !
2 observations:
1-the smile he has when first sitting down within the monster.
2-Love the symmetry of a double bass kit…looks fun.
Congratulations Shane!, a very well deserved kit 🎉!
Wow!! Thoroughly enjoyed this. Nothing like unboxing a new kit, especially DW. Especially this one. Thanks for sharing !!!
Super excited to see a 15 PIECE, crazy huge drum set!
BEAUTIFUL Kit! I could feel the joy in this one. Enjoy brother.
Thank you and yes, plenty of joy!
these drums are the best DW that I have heard.
More drums than you can poke a stick at...almost! Beautiful.
Thankyou Shane and Congratulations! that is an amazing drumkit,I'm shure your going to enjoy it!
You may need a trunck to take in any where however.Really cool kit! Thanks again.
Real talk shane, this is beautiful. Thanks for all of what you do. One drummer to another.
I can only imagine how much it all cost. It's a absolute gorgeous kit. I would love to have a DW kit someday.
