Shane gave everyone the day off so that no one would be snide and make comments about all the moaning sounds emitting from upstairs. Heck, he probably got this delivered on a day when the store isn't open, just so he could spend the entire day with his... "beloved". ❤😂😂🎉
No SQ2? Isn’t Shane a Sonor guy? And when is Yamaha getting its act together? Awesome kit, btw. And I agree, the DW story is a great one. John slept on the floor in the early days and that earned my respect for his humility and their passion and commitment.
You should remove 1 of your tom toms . It looks to cluttered. But 1 thing your behind on is the height of you bass drum beaters, put it as high as possible so there more bounce and rebound makes for tighter bass drum sounds. Awesome kit
Unboxing of a lifetime! Well deserved, laddie! Shane is one of the most kind, considerate, and finest quality humans I’ve met in my 60 years! Get yourself to his drum Mecca!
I agree! Stop shopping at the box stores or online with super mega company. The prices are great and you will NOT get better customer service. 90% of the time the price is exactly what you find out there on the internet. They will be right up front with you with good advice. Shane gave me advice on electronic drums 7 years ago that still holds true today. He told me to spend more money. The 400 dollar e-kit was not going to cut it and was not going to be the best to learn on. This was back in the old store and he had nothing to sell me e-drum wise. He was right! I have spent 1000's of dollars that I didn't need to. I said GOOD advice not that I took his advice. 🙂We have experienced the down fall of locally run music retailers because of the domination of Guitar Center. I love this store and it makes me happy to go in there and see a ton of people on a Saturday. It reminds me of the old days going into that Junky music store and just spending a hour looking at my next thing. BTW bring your wallet! You're going to need it! 😋
ANY buisness man like Shane that keeps a brick and mortar drum store open during a time of the internet deserves much much more than this awesome drum set
I can’t even find the right words to describe this kit, it’s simply a phenomenal sounding and looking DW kit, honestly one of the best I’ve ever heard. That’s about all the drums I want for my dream DW kit, and the maple/mahogany shells are some of the best DW offer. And the tuning on this kit, and all the other kits you guys have is second to none. Fantastic video everyone, hope to come by the shop some day down the road!
Talk about 'drum porn' ... MY GOODNESS! WOW, that is spectacular, and they sound amazing! You now have 1000 ways to set up your kit!😆 Your description of DW and how it relates to you and DCP and your sentiments about what you do and why easily explains why you're the best! One question; from all the views of the video, the 12 and 13 look like an 9x12 and a 10x13? Oh, and that finish selection! WOW! Thanks for sharing Shane, congrats!
The drums sound great, but what really touched me was Shane's story at the end. The way he expresses his gratitude and explains why DW means so much to him and the sincerity with which he does it is genuinely moving. DCP is unmatched. Congrats Shane!
Well done, as always, Shane. Your eloquent words describing the history of the company, The drums, the sounds, and your motivation is exceptional. Best of luck with the new kit.
And thats y after endless hrs of comparing drums Pearl Tama Ludwig my choice was the choice I knew it was going to be the drummers choice DW, which was my first choice but since you are the greatest drugstore on the planet and put out 6 million comparison videos you had me doubting myself but I’m glad I finally made a decision of buying the greatest drums from the greatest drum store And I’m sure I speak for everyone. I appreciate the sacrifices you’ve made for us.
I knew you could play like a boss, but I had no idea you could JAM like that! Also, I want to know what that Artisan cymbal model and diameter that is? Sounds magical!
Great video. Beautiful kit. Very heartfelt monologue at the end. That was textbook small business entrepreneurship 101. Well deserved kit and success. Many more great kits and much success for years to come.
I am a busy drummer. I too have a 15 piece kit, but Tama. I LOVE having that many drums available. Once you have them set up in a more permanent setting and play them for a while, you'll start to figure out exactly where you want everything, and how you can better position everything to make it both more compact without having to eliminate gear, and ergonomic for you and your playing style. It may take some very careful adjustments here and there, and maybe two or three complete reorganizations (take pictures of what works as you go), but it's so satisfying once you find the sweet spot for everything. I'm also an open handed player, and with 4 floor toms, it made it very easy to split them with two on each side, which also gave me a more relaxed playing position and more powerful floor tom playing because I could hit two without having to twist my body to one side of the kit. Have fun!
Best looking and sounding DW kit I have ever seen - congratulation ☺️👍 - ambassadors top and bottom are always, IMO, one of the best choices for top of the line drums - and not tuned too low. Nice 🥁
Reminds me of the huge Gretsch kit in their poster/catalogue in the 80's!! The difference being the massive hardware(cymbal stands) Gretsch offered back then.
Hello from Sweden 🇸🇪 I just love this channel! And what a wonderful drumkit! I would love to play those drums😊 I started to play drums when I was 8 years old, and I am 60 now and it's still fun. Shane, you are a lucky guy😊
Love it! Its like my 9 piece DW. I have the 8/10/12/13/14/16/18/22/22 and waiting for the 20” (yes the old size before 21”) gong. But yours looks so much classier, has Maple Mahogany (my previous kit had that, what a sound), has the short bd sizes!!! One tip. Get the rack too. Congrats!!!
All I want is Gretsch BroadKaster in 12”, 14” toms, an 18” kick and an extra 20” kick for big band. All in Satin Walnut. And I’ll never be able to afford them. Ever. It breaks my heart every day. I’ve got a quote from you guys. It’ll never happen. Watching this makes me want to cry. 😞
I walked into a store for a hi hat clamp saw 2 collectors kits for sale I fell in love with one went back next day and tried them out then picked them up the following weekend when my wife was at a bachelorette party. Timing was perfect. My favorite kit I’ve played🥁🔥 I love watching the DW videos of Don and John
Thankyou Shane and Congratulations! that is an amazing drumkit,I'm shure your going to enjoy it! You may need a trunck to take in any where however.Really cool kit! Thanks again.
WOW!!! Awesome kit. Fun video too. Sounds fantastic!!! Thanks for sharing I know your are enjoying your new kit!!! Also thanks for the great customer service over the years. Loyal and longtime DCP customer in TEXAS. Keep swinging and all good things!!!
Wouldn’t be my choice but we are all different with what we like. I’ve learned that there are so many good drum companies to pick an incredible quality set. It’s the sound you like is the most important. Pearl, Tama, Ludwig, Yamaha, etc… all have high end quality sets. You gotta go with the sound. Personally I like Barton drums because of the way they sounded on this stations review.
Really well done video! The kit sounds F A N T A S T I C ! The kit looks M A G N I F I C E N T ! Extremely classy all the way around, I honestly could not imagine a drum kit sounding any better than this one! (Unless the professor was there to give it a test drive, although yours WAS wonderful!) Congratulations! One day I will come back to this video and take notes on ordering my own. Great timing too as DW was just sold from my understanding... 😉
I dig it, good decision. It's a unique sounding kit. I can definitely hear the mahogany difference yet it projects perfectly loud enough. It's very open without being flubby or airy. The majority of kits I've heard in my 49 years listening to them can be labeled by a genre or two they would likely fit most comfortably, rock or jazz, etc. That kit doesn't come across like it has a favorite anything, it's like it's saying ''I like sticks, brushes, hands and feet. Check your adjectives, pronouns and hairstyles at the door, buddy. I ain't got the temperament for pigeonholing''. That can be intimidating for someone who isn't well rounded and versed in speaking in many voices, and that even applies to recording engineers because it's an open field with that kit, you got all the colors to play with there.
WOW What a kit! 😎 My dream kit is also a DW maple/mahogany double kick drums 2 or 3 up and 2 down, I would also change the top heads to Aquarian Focus X clear and the batter heads on the kicks with Aquarian Force 1 clear heads, drumheads really is a personal choice for every drummer out there! Enjoy the MEGA kit Shane I hope you get to record and gig them live someday, All the best Janus
I was a 15 yr old kid in 85 when I first started playing hair guitar. Ratt, Dio, Ozzy, Dokken, etc., was what I was into. 9 piece minimum drums with equal number of cymbals was what everyone played. These modern Bass, Rack Tom, Snare, and Floor Tom set-ups, 4 pc., is just 🌈👬 as f. I don't know who thought that was a good idea, but they should be pu*ched in the face. Must've been a drum tech/roadie. These monster sets are the way to go. 👍
It’s really funny how perspective is, the American way would be « let’s get a 20 pieces DW kit because why not and I’m forty man, and yeah, throw 4 AAX cymbals in there for good measure », compared to the European way « let’s get a 5 pieces Sonor kit with 28 Istanbul cymbals and be gentle with that », and then a lot of other styles and traditions, Yamaha, gretsch and others…congrats to you for your sponsored 20y 20pieces achievement, you’re sure gonna have tons of fun with that kit (I’m naive enough to think so 😂), marketing aside 😅, enjoy!
Shane, first of all.. absolutely amazing looking and sounding kit! WOW.! Great video, and thank you for sharing the milestones, correlation's, and the history's and parallels that were/are very interesting. You clearly have worked your butt off to get where you are, and this kit is beyond well deserved. Congratulations.!!! I do want to ask, have your taste's in drums changed over time? You were always a HUGE Sonor guy, and a Birch drum shell guy. Will this new DW kit be your new primary kit?
Hahah, incredible. Sounding and looking. Second only to Bozzio. Striking fear in the hearts of all house sound guys. Sick🤘Glad your coming around on the wood finish.
Wow! Go big or go home! I love this kit. I have also recently purchased my dream 13 piece Dw purple heart kit. Big kits give you so much room to create any sound you want! Enjoyed your playing on them. What mics are you using on those bass drums? They sound amazing!
This is an amazingly honest and open unboxing and story. Covered a lot of topics. It is refreshing to hear from a store owner/sole proprietor with a passion for the business. It left me with a couple questions: Did it really take a year between ordering the kit and delivery? Isn't Roland known for e-drums? (What do they know about acoustic drums?) Did Rush demonetize this?
just wow, beautiful , you have great taste. sound is killer. i love when someone gets the kids face when he as a new toy, shane got that look while opening the boxes. well deserved.
Wow! Thats thing is just mental haha! Good on you for going all out! After all we only live once and for an uknown amount of time. Hope it brings you all the drum joy you've dreamed it could!
Without any foreknowledge, I'm guessing this kit cost $20,000.00. Thats without cymbals and pedals. But with everything, new heads, cymbals, stands, pedals, that would bring it up to 30k. How close am I?
Great stuff as always Shane. Thanks for sharing the personal side of yourself and how you approach your business. It does make a difference. I mentioned how much I like your videos and how they always sound great to a friend of mine who works for Sonor. Immediately he texts back saying Shane is very good to us. Anyway it shows you can do well and care still about people and drumming.
Wow, what a kit, reminds so much in look and eve the sound of Simon's, probably even a bit better sounding than Simon's. The tuning is fantastic. I thought they came out of the box like that until you mentioned new heads. Your playing is improving too! Would love to know the mic and recording set up, the sounds is just insane.
Something tells me my z06 was cheaper than this DW.
Not to mention Not much of this kit will fit in the z06.
hahahaha
That's just a thing of beauty
Something tells me my new car was cheaper.
Depends - he gets it at cost so who knows
And this is why DW is the Rolls Royce of the drum world... Absolutely stunning!
Shane gave everyone the day off so that no one would be snide and make comments about all the moaning sounds emitting from upstairs. Heck, he probably got this delivered on a day when the store isn't open, just so he could spend the entire day with his... "beloved". ❤😂😂🎉

I want one too 😭😭😭. wait a minute, i'm not even a drummer. lol
ANY buisness man like Shane that keeps a brick and mortar drum store open during a time of the internet deserves much much more than this awesome drum set
Now THIS is the kit of a BOSS!! Much respect always DCP!! TOP NOTCH!! 💯 🥁
Thanks and yes, rather fitting for the BOSS!
Being the owner of DCP certainly has its perks! A truly beautiful kit Shane, may it bring you years of enjoyment. All the best to all at DCP.
It sure does and thanks!

18” floor toms are extremely underrated
Talk about 'drum porn' ... MY GOODNESS! WOW, that is spectacular, and they sound amazing! Well done, as always, Shane. Your eloquent words describing the history of the company, The drums, the sounds, and your motivation is exceptional. Best of luck with the new kit.
Thank you Steve!
They sound as good as they look. I wanna hire you to tune my kit!
It’s like if you combine a Simon Phillips kit with a Neil Peart kit.
Awesome kit!! Dude I know you're gonna break down and order that snare!!! lol
Iv never cared for DWs toms but these sound great maybe it's the difference in heads
Curious how much this kit cost lol. $20,000? Looks and sounds awesome and I love this channel!
Dope kit. I think it’s more than 20k tho. Shane went full out. Lol.
Haha also wouldn't be surprised if it is more@@DMBCJ21
Is that the Terry Bozzio starter kit?
Oh man. That gong and floor tom sound GREAT!
CONGRATS SHANE... fuckin KILLIN IT❤❤❤❤❤
Good idea- Watching a new bad@ss drum kit vid
Bad- idea- Watching a new bad@ss drum kit vid at 10pm lol
Reminds me of the old Ludwig Octa plus!
Sounds *amazing.* But why does everyone always tune their concert toms so low? Pull a Peart and crank those babies up!
Shane... Shane... Shane..... I feel as though I know where you got your name & see that you adhere to the integrity of your namesake if it's so!
And thats y after endless hrs of comparing drums
Pearl
Tama
Ludwig my choice was the choice I knew it was going to be the drummers choice DW, which was my first choice but since you are the greatest drugstore on the planet and put out 6 million comparison videos you had me doubting myself but I’m glad I finally made a decision of buying the greatest drums from the greatest drum store

That's how I roll too- 1 huge kit & use what the music & stage space requires.
I also enjoy getting my Freq on with those Sabian Hats. Pretty much my go to pair and have been for a while lol
Great Shane!! Love the kit and your story….
The drums in the picture at 16:35 (Tama ASII) have maple shells XD
Congratulations, Shane!!! Your exuberance came right through on the video!!! Looking forward to seeing you all next week!
15 piece kit?! THAT’S NUTS!
Shane! That's nuts man! Awesome! Love it! Rock N Roll! Keep Rockin'! 😀👍👍DC
Thank you! Glad you dig it!
Wow the most kick ass video ever !!
Thank you!

Reminds me of the huge Gretsch kit in their poster/catalogue in the 80's!! The difference being the massive hardware(cymbal stands) Gretsch offered back then.
I think I’ve fallen in love with the sound of 23” bass drums because of this video!
Super sincere - love your angle on drum retail business and so looking forward to the day I can acutally walk into your store and say Heh!!
They sound and look awesome you are a lucky man.
That was awesome!!! Great choice, congratulations!!!

Bit of a Simon Phillips influence there, no?
Wow, the panning reverses when the camera switches angles. Well done, mixer dude/dudess.
Hey, thanks!
Congrats!!!
Shane, you look like the 🦁 Lion King 🤴 behind that gorgeous dw kit!

simon phillips vibes for sure
Good call. I was thinking Todd Sucherman.
Neil Peart would be proud! 😜
Sounds great, and you play them well 👍

Amazing. Don’t sell yourself short, Shane. You sounded great. Loved hearing what the drums mean to you, and your affection for DW. Congratulations! 🎉
Thanks so much!

Bye bye one up one down! AWESOME KIT. AWESOME VIDEO. AMAZING OUTFIT IN LIL NH!
Got yourself a genuine bonafide Simon Phillips sized kit there bro! Enjoy!
Shane Peart.....you guys are great...i'm glad i ordered my set through you....waiting the 6 months hurts...lol...
Awesome kit Shane!! Congrats on your beautiful dream kit and the sound like a DREAM!!
Best I'VE ever here you play. They ARE YOU!

I miss my DWs 🥹 I’d be happy with a 4 piece … congratulations!
The toms sound extremely good! Congrats Shane!
Thanks and totally agree!
Shane your timing and playing improved so much. Congrats on the beautiful kit.🎉
I don't normally watch the unboxing videos but .. this one I couldn't miss!! Congratulations!!! 🎉
Also the Workmanship and Quality was so neglected when the legendary Names like Ludwig, Rogers, Gretsch were in these cooperate ownerships.
Neil Peart-ish . A little more than Neil Peart's Tama kit during his Moving Pictures Era kit. Still beautiful drums
Hahah, incredible. Sounding and looking. Second only to Bozzio. Striking fear in the hearts of all house sound guys. Sick🤘Glad your coming around on the wood finish.

Did those bass drums have the mounting hardware during the unboxing? I feel like I missed something
Congrats man- smokin kit!!
Woah, I didn't expect every drum to sound so freakin' good! Maple/mahogany might be a new favorite combo for me.
Watching this and seeing your reaction made me nearly as happy as if I were unboxing it myself. 😆 This kit is so classy!
Congratulations. Well deserved.
Thank you Kevin!
Wow excelent My music favourite acoustic allways rock jazz blues etc My favourite thanks You very Match the drumm Center
