I am an individual who has experienced this and I hope they do keep it in the show. I have a personal difficulties with intimacy that still affect me to this day. For those who can't understand just HOW this can happen to someone and for me it was by my wife at the time, understand that power dynamics are independent of one's sex. It doesn't happen strictly physically. There is nothing in my life that was like having that particular choice taken away from me. I've come a long way though and I have my son as a result. I love him very much and am thankful for his existence. It is unfortunate that many people can't understand that this is a real issue or use their heads to understand that very real threats of consequences can happen without violence that take a person's choice away. Stay safe everybody.
I also think that people are forgetting that in the comics, after Omni-man learns about what happened, he told Mark that that was the custom on Viltrum and that mates forced themselves unto each other. I’m sure there were plenty of Viltrumites who did this, maybe even Lucan, Kregg and Thula. Most likely they didn’t have children on Viltrum but if they did they may have died from the scourge virus. Anissa did say she had multiple husbands. The only reason they didn’t force themselves unto humans was because Thragg specifically ordered them to blend in and act human so that they wouldn’t draw the attention of the coalition of planets. Anissa was wrong but it was her custom. This only made her redemption that much better.
They’ve seen shit like baby reindeer absolutely pop off: they’ll be begging to cash in on some of that dark-edgey fringe kinda stuff when it comes around.
I can understand if they don't show it - to not end up causing a controversy like Goblin Slayer but I don't agree. I think they hope the series gets discontinued before that point, what they're doing a great job for by having us wait an eternity for a few episodes at a time.
Its very key to the story. Its a big character moment for both of them and it leads to a new character coming in later. Make it a consensual relationship and it changes a lot of stuff.
It’s not just about what she did. The reason it happens is that Anissa has marky, which is the heir to the throne of the viltrum empire. If they don’t include the scene, it fucks up a lot of things in the story, and it also shows very well the emotional burden it took on invincible.
If they really want to cut it and not even imply it happened off-screen, what they might do is have Anissa seduce Mark and Mark gives in. It would still result in a child, could result in Mark being "weird" around Anissa while she keeps flirting with him, and could still affect Mark and his relationship with Eve (though in a different and probably more acceptable way according to them, cheating man vs male SA victim, which narrative do you think the producers will prefer.) I would hate this by the way but they aren't exactly afraid of changing things. After the Amber changes, I know what I expect.
@@Johanjannesmy guy they are showing her killing people why wouldn't they show her having sex with mark? Is sex more concerning than death itself stop being stupid
Im guessing what they'll do is run the scene as spotty visuals blinking in-and-out with audio playing during the blackouts, and we'll probably just hear crashing, screaming, and echoing voices, which is probably not far off from what the memory of SA looks like.
I don’t think it would be impossible to include the scene in a way that doesn’t glorify or sexualize what happens, but I also have doubt that the show would take the risk of it ending up that way.
Because most people can personally relate to rape more than death. We have glorified death to a large extent to the point where it's normal, whilst rape is uniquely evil.
@@jahinsadman1505 Rape is always a taboo, murder is not. Murder is fine under specific circumstances like self defense and war, and is perpetuated in media regardless of whether or not it's seen as being okay. Rape on the other hand is simply untouched and rightfully so as it's always a predatory action.
Even if it’s not shown in full, it really should be put in the show in some form. even if it’s just like, Mark’s uniform being torn off, or Anissa telling him “Man up, it’ll probably take a few tries.” I think the subtlety is best.
Okay but the scene is so important. Its one of the only tasteful depictions of male victim SA out there in media. Its handled with care and treated as horrific and life changing. Its important to have examples of men, powerful men especially being victims too. The comic helped me process my own assault, I am a AMAB non binary individual and I needed this kind of narrative to help not feel alone it is super important to people. On top of that the ripples from the scene have massive import to the characters and plot. It makes waves in the lives of Mark Eve and Nolans characters and its also how Marky comes to be as a character who is a character that through removing diminishs Marks late game characterization. You simply cant remove the scene without harming the show and its value.
I don't know what the thing is. But knowing how modern writers write their shows, and how modern audiences can't handle the most simple of bad things anymore. My guess is that the thing will be cut out.
Amazon wouldn’t opposed to the show going that dark since The Boys went that dark in season 1. The way they’re probably gonna do it is have Mark and Anissa’s fight start at the end of an episode with it leaving off on a cliffhanger, and then the next episode you see the aftermath of what’s happened to Mark. You don’t see it, but what’s implied without words still leaves you speechless.
I actually had to look up what you were referring to. Hazbin Hotel (also on Amazon) had an episode that dove into the subject manner in question. So if the producers of Invincible decide to not have the scene happen it'll probably be because "it isn't relevant to the story" and not because "Amazon won't allow the subject manner".
It WILL happen in the show, it is such an immensely important moment for the story, especially for the end part of the series, but it’s a proper way to show that SA (especially against men) must be taken seriously, that it’s not a joke, as that men are victims as well.
They cant cut that scene completely. That would remove marks son, a major character arc of mark coming to terms of what happened to him and accepting his son and her redemption and growth if her character before she died. They'll probably greatly censor the scene, but if they completly cut the scene it would greatly affect the story.
They better do it. In nearly 30 years of reading comics they're only ever been two stories or two parts of stories that ever made me cry both of them were in Invincible.
It's likely they will follow up the source material, but they're going to make some changes onto one of the scenes since like season 2 episode 4. They did make changes to Mark's reaction than just being happy since it was out of character. But I like the scene from the show where he is tired of his father. What he has done, but from that one I'm pretty sure the fans Will definitely want to see the scene where Anissa will pay consequences since she just get away with it
I don’t see how you can cut it out of the show. The lasting ramifications from “that” scene is really important for the rest of Mark’s character. There’s more than a few plot points that it affects. Especially with Mark, Eve, and Mark’s Dad.
I personally think it needs to be adapted. It's something we need a serious discussion about. Men getting SA'd is either ignored at best or played for laughs at worst. We absolutely need an exploration of how it affects the victim and his closest relatives.
I wanna say look at it like this. Off screen it but imply it happened if you need to but it's actually really important that that scene happens in cannon for the show even if it isn't shown. Cause it gives you moments that happen for his development and other characters. Trust me as messed up as it is. It has to happen
It’s gotta be in the show, whether we get the same thing as the comics is unknown but we will definitely get a scene which shows him not wanting it before cutting away

@@LobsterCameramanProductions whether you hated her or not, she still had a redemption arc when thragg came back with his army of thraxan babies. When her and atom eve bonded and she was forgiven by eve and mark.

It needs to be added, as it shows mens SA is a real thing and just as serious as Womens SA, it's also an important part of the story.
i've been an invincible fan for a while now and have read all the comics, seeing it become a show was insane, seeing anissa was even crazier
The other thing that made her redemption good was that she wasn't forgiven by Mark or Eve with them at best being relucant allies.
“They’re not gonna put a vital moment in the show”
For the love of god… I am NOT terminally online, WHAT’S “THE THING”?!?!?
Anissa r**** mark cause she doesn’t want to have a child with a human but still wants human aspects in her child
She r8pes him in the comics

@@madhanezhilan3905 jeez…
Its very key to the story. Its a big character moment for both of them and it leads to a new character coming in later. Make it a consensual relationship and it changes a lot of stuff.
It’s not just about what she did. The reason it happens is that Anissa has marky, which is the heir to the throne of the viltrum empire. If they don’t include the scene, it fucks up a lot of things in the story, and it also shows very well the emotional burden it took on invincible.
If they really want to cut it and not even imply it happened off-screen, what they might do is have Anissa seduce Mark and Mark gives in. It would still result in a child, could result in Mark being "weird" around Anissa while she keeps flirting with him, and could still affect Mark and his relationship with Eve (though in a different and probably more acceptable way according to them, cheating man vs male SA victim, which narrative do you think the producers will prefer.)
I would hate this by the way but they aren't exactly afraid of changing things. After the Amber changes, I know what I expect.
Whoo. Yeah, baby. That's what I've been waiting for. That's what it's all about. Whoo.
They better put it in the show I want comic book accuracy
No they need to put it out of screen!
@@Johanjannesmy guy they are showing her killing people why wouldn't they show her having sex with mark? Is sex more concerning than death itself stop being stupid
Either way i am sticking with accuracy it's the whole point why marky exist
Im guessing what they'll do is run the scene as spotty visuals blinking in-and-out with audio playing during the blackouts, and we'll probably just hear crashing, screaming, and echoing voices, which is probably not far off from what the memory of SA looks like.
I don’t think it would be impossible to include the scene in a way that doesn’t glorify or sexualize what happens, but I also have doubt that the show would take the risk of it ending up that way.
She's fucking invincible!
"There is one thing the character is very much known for doing"
Yeah, that thing in question being Mark.
That moment needs to happen because we need to have Marky born, without there isn’t InvicBoy
Killing abuse: no one panics.
Sex abuse: everyone loses their minds...!!!!
Hate human hypocrisy
But animal hypocrisy is fine? 😂

@@someperson9998 Death is inevitable, the other isn't.
Me: Oh no, please stop…..
Anissa: Why are you thrusting back? Did you just slap my azz?
I immediately think of the boys, amazon would totally green light this scene
Lots of videos talking about that scene, mostly creepy weirdos become obsessed with it, gross.
And specially down bad with Anissa, like how f up these people are in their head?

I think the real question is how they will go about Eve getting an abortion
I don't know what the thing is. But knowing how modern writers write their shows, and how modern audiences can't handle the most simple of bad things anymore. My guess is that the thing will be cut out.
She forces herself on him to try and get pregnant with his child
@__Theta__ Voiced by Becca Butcher from The Boys who has a similar arc. Ironically enough
Theres nothing modern about it. If you go back 20 years they arent going to be any more likely to animate that... They may even be less so.
So if the producers of Invincible decide to not have the scene happen it'll probably be because "it isn't relevant to the story" and not because "Amazon won't allow the subject manner".
damn guess I'm terminally online
I just finished that issue and it left me mortified and disturbed.
It WILL happen in the show, it is such an immensely important moment for the story, especially for the end part of the series, but it’s a proper way to show that SA (especially against men) must be taken seriously, that it’s not a joke, as that men are victims as well.
I feel like they'd need to include it. It's incredibly important in the comics and gives Mark one of his children.
If chainsaw man does the throw up kiss they can do the nomnomnom
Mark holds back a lot because he doesn't want to kill people but they nearly kill him all the time until he took out Angstrom
I would say, they would leave it to a offscreen situation since it makes more sense that way.
They cant cut that scene completely. That would remove marks son, a major character arc of mark coming to terms of what happened to him and accepting his son and her redemption and growth if her character before she died. They'll probably greatly censor the scene, but if they completly cut the scene it would greatly affect the story.
The only thing I hope they leave out is her half baked redemption arc where it doesn’t even feel like she’s sorry about it
You're damn right people are way too happy to see that scene. I've literally seen people begging to see that scene, and that worries me.
" those who like it (the scene) way too much"😂😂😂
I wouldn’t say I’m “waiting” for it.
They better do it.
In nearly 30 years of reading comics they're only ever been two stories or two parts of stories that ever made me cry both of them were in Invincible.
“I say let it grow”
Rule 34 artists:
The fact that lots of people are disturbed by the incident tells us it needs to be included.
So you're saying that killing people didn't make people disturbed? But a rape scene did? Is death less significant than rape?
It should have been me 💀
We not gonna talk about how mark is getting folded by a girl lol
They made Anissa and Thula look SOOOO much older in the animated show than they look in the comics
I think it would be an Amazing storyline and resonant with not just fans - they should do it
DO IT DO IT DO IT 😂👏👏👏
It's likely they will follow up the source material, but they're going to make some changes onto one of the scenes since like season 2 episode 4. They did make changes to Mark's reaction than just being happy since it was out of character. But I like the scene from the show where he is tired of his father. What he has done, but from that one I'm pretty sure the fans Will definitely want to see the scene where Anissa will pay consequences since she just get away with it
I think Amazon won’t care in terms of how graphic it is as they also have the boys which is way worse. They’ll add it in but depends on their vision
It's like watching SAW, but censored for PBS Kids.
I wanna say look at it like this. Off screen it but imply it happened if you need to but it's actually really important that that scene happens in cannon for the show even if it isn't shown. Cause it gives you moments that happen for his development and other characters. Trust me as messed up as it is. It has to happen
I’d be something to behold
**Looks at the boys, Herogasm**
