- Joan and John Cusack talk to an audience at the Toronto Fan Expo 2016 about their careers. This brother and sister act takes home the award for co-starring in the most movies together. Including 1984's Sixteen Candles, 1989's Say Anything, 2000's High Fidelity and, most recently, 2008's War, Inc., John and Joan have worked on an amazing 10 movies together.
Love John! He's an amazing actor. He's sweet, funny, charming and gorgeous! I watched Say Anything earlier, tonight.
John Cusack is one of my favorite actors of all time. I've seen all his movies. Also, Joan has certainly played In many films. She's very talented, as well as, John. They're unique. Very likeable people. Good people. Seems like the best actors, never get the regonition they deserve. John, I know can go toe-toe-toe with any other (A) lister movie star. He doesn't get caught up in the fake-hype of Hollywood. What you see, is what he is. He's like a breath of fresh air. If I'm being honest, I'd rather see John Cusack ' movies, than any other.

i've had a crush on joan since Toys (not Toy Story). then one day in 2008 or 2009, i was recording some guitar parts for a friend's band's album i was guesting on. it was at a professional recording studio in vancouver with several individual recording sections, if you know what i mean. so i'm sitting there inside this soundproof booth laying down these fills on a song and i look up in the middle of a riff and there's john standing there with his arms crossed behind the producer watching me do this and i just immediately break into a sweat and my hands start shaking and i stop playing and the producer stops the track and stares at me for 5 seconds and then says something into his mic to me (which i have no idea what he said cuz i was so distracted) and i'm just like "um... is that john cusack standing behind you?" in this quivery voice (cuz i'm such a huge fan) and john kind of jumps with a sudden giggle and this huge embarrassed smile on his face and steps up to the mic and says "sorry for the distraction. please continue".... and i'm just sitting there, staring at john cusack in this frozen state thinking "wtf is happening right now? is this real life? did i die in a car accident on the way over here and don't know it?" and then he just kind of clues in that i am full blown rattled by his presence and gives me this quirky presidential-like nod and wave and leaves the room.
i got my focus back and finished the session. then i ask the producer about john and he tells me john's recording something in the next studio and just walked in (which is kind of a no-no in the business) but he was still fairly A-list hollywood at the time (or at least in my mind) so it's like he gets a pass. I never saw him again so I kind of lament not getting to meet him. I thought maybe he would come by again later or have me sent over to watch him work, too, or something.... but nope. just one professional entertainer shadowing another way-less-professional entertainer out of maybe boredom or curiosity.
i guess the difference between us is that if i had popped into his studio; besides the fact that security or someone in the room would have bounced me expediently, john probably wouldn't have even flinched if he saw me walk in, even if i was more famous than him..... but at this point, i don't know who he'd be surprised by since he's worked with everyone.
never forget.... this is the guy who was photographed riding in the middle of a convertible between Johnny Depp driving and Hunter S Thompson holding a blowup doll... cigarettes hanging from all their mouths. Who the hell are YOUR friends?

Lisa Foos Yes they are! I just love her personality, especially in the series "Shameless" If you havent see that, i suggest to watch it. Its an awesome show!

Was so nervous meeting him....i lost my thoughts and questions.....told him i loved HIM instead of his WORK....and he laughed and told me to have a nice Fall, but autographed my GPB picture regardless. Wanna go meet him again at a con and make up for my idiocy.
Nothing wrong with loving an artist . I bet he was flattered as he can be just as shy/nervous to receive a not everyday touching words from a fan so his laugh was just his defense mechanism. He probably hasn't heard I love you from a fan or often just because of the fear of looking like a fool to him. That's actually sweet and spontaneously wonderful. Probably not common for him to hear of something directed to him personally and on the contrary, John may need to here other compliments such as yours instead of hearing the same predictable ones like "I love your work/movies" which I assume he knows by heart so I prefer something new for someone like John and I believe you nailed it but that just my opinion. Great approach! I'm sure he understands the jitters from fans. I LOVE John Cusack too and his work as well as his thoughts! I got so thrilled when you said that he said to you to have a nice Fall because Fall is my favorite season! 😊🍁I'm a BIG fan of John Cusack and I want to marry him or be his maid😊I hope I can meet him in the near future. That would be my ultimate gift and wish come true!!!💖💕
