Bethesda making Starfield was by far the worst decision they have ever made. The fact that they KNEW a multi season show was being developed at the same time makes it an almost unforgivable strategic business error. @techgeek123-em7uf I admit, I got 76 when it was released. Played it for a few hours, and it just didn't feel like a fallout. I spent over 100 hours in 3, New Vegas, and 4...I know what it feels like. I booted 76 back up to give it a second chance. nah we wanted a fallout game with actual NPCs and depth into the story and world not fallout 76 when it first came out it was just running around killong monsters or players that's why we wanted a new one
When you reach a point in your life where it’s a possibility you might actually die of old age before the next Bethesda game gets released. And don’t forget the extra couple of years worth of patches to actually complete the “finished” product post launch.
I was 10 when I first played fallout 3. My kids will be 14 if fallout 5 comes out in 2034... Whole generations are passing before these games are released. it's ridiculous.
@codariousisawesome Todd has his 9 billion dollars, he clearly has no excuse to care anymore, it's all downhill from here, he's run out of good will and he knows it.
It's fairly clear that the majority of the great minds and passionate employees who delivered Fallout 3 and Skyrim left Bethesda Game Studios many years ago. BGS has gone from rags to riches, and now back to rags again. They dropped the ball on Starfield and now they can't even get their act together on the Fallout 4 nexgen update. Sad.
They either need to expand and have different teams for different games or let other developers handle some of the work, I'd be 58 when next Fallout comes out. Ridiculous.
I know, I'll probably be almost 40 by the time fallout 5 and elder scrolls 6 comes out. They are more focused on their online versions of these games than they are single player titles.
i think ultimately bethesda wants to create a good enough game people both enjoy and want to mod the hell out of, but also make money off of the modders, the thing is the modders can't really make good mods by only using the creation kit, which means there will be a lot of mediocrity. anyway i was chatting with an individual today who was invested in the modding of starfield and he said that from the file structure it looks as it bethesda were trying to force modders to only be allowed to mod their game through their store and not allow free modding to exist on websites such as the nexus. because they want all the potential money made via the modding scene, but if this is the case, this could destroy Bethesda's whole idea because modders don't just mod for money, they do it for fun and having only to use the creation kit makes things more difficult because the best mods require multiple programs to make them very well made. anyway i hope that's not the case because if this is the direction bethesda plans on going in the future of their games, they will be dropped like a bag of hammers by the modding community.
yeah i think they're too small a team to make the games they want to make. It was fine when their games were the size of Morrowind, Oblivion or Skyrim but Starfield is on a completely different scale. It's just not sustainable, especially when their games aren't even that positively received recently.
@@MybasedworldI am 43. I will be almoat 60 when FO5 will come put. It will take 10 yeara for modders to fix it. Th8s gen of game will be the last i will ever truly enjoy. I have to accept that.

I was thinking about this yesterday. Personally, i really didn’t like fallout 4 (mostly because of the writing and dialogue system) but i really think that they could keep players happier by making more dragonbron and far harbor sized DLCs for those two games once a year or even once every 2 or 3 years.
Less milking popular old game ips with dlc and more putting in effort to games and less into scamming people out of more money by releasing incomplete trash that you have to pay for endings
Fallout 76 was supposed to give fans an itch to scratch for around 10-20 years that’s the truth, they sat down in a meeting room and thought “kids love live service and it generates a ton of money so let’s create a shallow fallout live service game”. They won’t suddenly want to create a single player urgently, they will just pump out new 76 content which….sucks. It’s the GTA online affect, without gta online we would’ve already had about 2 gtas and more creative ideas like LA noire
Its only a problem because they made 76 and Starfield, had they not made those decisions, TES6 would have been out years ago and FO5 would be coming out this year or next most likely.
I remember reading that Starfield was going to keep players engaged for ten years. Didn’t keep me engaged for 10 hours let alone years. Anyway, the last good Bethesda game was Skyrim and the the last great Bethesda game was Fallout 3. I simply don’t trust that company anymore to deliver anything other then watered down slop. They have become the Peter Molyneux of modern gaming.

@@BB-ng5bfNo it’s buddy, Skyrim was and still the best game they’ve ever produced, look at the sales. Fallout 4 was mid due scraping a bulk of the roleplaying mechanics that made fallout great. And do I need to explain why starfield failed….lol
Too afraid of being outshined again like New Vegas. They are still salty about that, can’t let it go and keep trying to crap on it. Todd is a petty little boy.
Bethesda really should aim for a 5-6 year development cycle, alternating with Elder Scrolls, while letting studios like Obsidian give us more to tied us over in between. Another New Vegas style game would be appreciated. And if they did that, they could get us a new Fallout game every 3-4 years, with Elder Scrolls tiding over some of the player base as well.
This absolutely should have always been the case. Bethesda doesn't deserve a 10+ year development pass. Imagine if Obsidian had always been the Fallout spin off developer we could have gotten some pretty solid games. It is just unfortunate that Todd doesn't want to admit it and pull his finger out of his ass that the fans don't want to wait 10+ years for new mainline entries each time
@@firstamerican7450 Especially if what we get for our wait is Starfield. Not a terrible game, but a terribly underwhelming game. Especially for how long we had to wait for it.
I agree. There is no reason with how much money they generate that they couldn't make the teams a bit bigger, and output those games on a more frequent basis. Then outsource the spinoffs.
Since the release of Skyrim in 2011, From Software has produced three Dark Souls games (with the first one also released in 2011), Bloodborne, and Elden Ring.
Yeah, but those are just asset flips of their previous games. So they barely had any work to do to dish them out so fast. Thats not gonna be the case with the next TES or FO game.
@@Oozaru85 You cannot seriously be unironically defending Bethesda in this case? Every game studio on the planet reuses assets from their prior games, yes even including Bethesda. Hell Bethesda's own engine is an asset flip.
@@vamps3000 Are Bethesda's games not literally the same with just different skins and lore? Fallout and Starfield are practically exactly the same minus their setting and slight mechanics changes, and TES is the same as the other two but just in a fantasy setting. That argument just isn't valid when each of FromSoft's games are all extremely high quality experiences they are able to release often to keep the fanbase satiated while Bethesda rarely releases new experiences and when they do they are riddled with bugs, glitches and mediocre dated gameplay.
It is baffling that we have to wait for a title to one series to come out before they start development on a title for a different series. There should be a team for Elder Scrolls, and a team for Fallout, so new installments come out at the same time. Starfield should have had its own separate team as well.
Especially with the number of devs that Bethesda has is over 450 people, it's surprising they had 200 on starfield to develop it. Though I kinda hope they give obsidian the go ahead to start development of Fallout 5, or something of a spin-off, considering how well New Vegas was developed.
@AzureToroto I think there's some bad blood there between Todd Howard and Obsidian considering NV is considered an amazing game even after its bad launch and really short development time. Obsidian has pitched doing ES and Fallout spin offs more but were always denied. Hopefully when Avowed comes out and (hopefully) is great, Bethesda rethinks how about what they been doing wrong and fix their shit
As popular as Balder's Gate 3 is I think Bethesda would do well if they remade Fallout 1&2 with modern graphics, game play mechanics and kept it in isometric view.
I was a senior in high school when Skyrim came out. I am now 30, married, house, and kid. This is what I was worried about back in line 2015. Now ES6 is gonna come out, but I’m gonna be in my mid 30s and too busy to even play it.
How about another little tid bit of downer info? Fallout London, a Massive Mod based on Fallout 4's game was Supposed to release April 23rd, but is being put off due to the next gen update breaking many many parts of the mod. We are talking a New Fallout Game size mod... we coulda scratched that itch.
This video really puts things in perspective. Everyone talks about ES6, but it's just as crazy to think that Fallout 4 is 10 years old and nowhere near preproduction.
before a Fallout 5 comes out we need to wait for TES6, thyen 10 more years for F5. We're talking about 15+ years between a game and the other (of the same franchise), when before it was like 3-5. I could understand a few extra years, but the time has tripled to quadrupled.
The time has tripled to quadrupled but the quality has vastly diminished. There absolutely is no justification for them taking that long to develop the games if they come out in a state playing like Starfield
Well.. When you realize that we still don't have the DLC for Starfield or the Creation Kit, you know it's gonna be a long journey ^^ Who knows maybe Half-Life 3 will be released then !
Bethesda simply shouldnt have been trusted with these IP's. To put work of two of the most beloved IP's on hold so that Todd could shart out his passion project was ridiculous. If they had been able to fit in Starfield between other releases fine, they could have put it out and it wouldnt have been a big deal. To work on it before the release of the next two instalments of their flagship titles that people have been waiting years for made me lose all trust in them as a company.
What do you mean they shouldn’t have been trusted with their ip? They literally invented elder scrolls so there is no one to “trust” them with the ip they created it🥴 also they bought fallout. It is theirs that can do what they want.. Tim Caine who invited fallout said Bethesda has every right to do what they want with it. I don’t disagree that Starfield was a waste of resources but they can do whatever they want with their ip and there is no one to “trust” them with it.. Cz it’s theirs 🥴
I don't want to sound cocky but I saw it coming from years away. The whole concept of Starfield looked as if it had nothing to offer compared to Fallout and ES.
I want to see a reimagining of Fallout 1 and 2. They could do them in the current first person format, but I'd also settle for the classic isometric view.
I agree with the isometric game style. Fr the originals were just like that. I know no rest for the wicked isn't a Bethesda title. But that game truly shows what an isometric game is capable of especially with an unique artstyle. All I kept thinking about was a new isometric fallout game being made like that. Hopefully it wouldn't be bugged out but this is Bethesda we're talking about so.....😂😂😂
I think with the success of the show the game popularity will keep growing and there is not way Microsoft who owns Bethestha will not let the game be on shelf for that long. Especialy with success of tv show Since BGS is not working on new game of the series they will most likely give it to another studio. Fingers crossed they give to Obsidian sinnce CEO of Obsidian said he wants to return to the franchise.
The blame is on ESO and Fallout 76. I knew this would happen when they were announced. Why would Bethesda work hard on new single player games when they can make money on lesser effort multiplayer games? It's a matter of greed of course.
ESO is developed by Zenimax Online Studios, not Bethesda Game Studios. Bethesda has nothing to do with ESO. Fallout 76 however, is part of the problem.
@@DucatiDiaries Bethesda Softworks makes money off of it because they’re the publisher. Bethesda Game Studios does not. @@DucatiDiaries For the sake of the example. @@NewWasabii My point is, as long as they can make money monthly off ESO with minimal effort, they'll take forever to make the next Elder Scrolls single player.
Why? They're heavily molded and way more modern than 1 and 2. 1 and 2 are ideal for a remake and most fans ignore them because they're old/not bethesda style. So remaking them makes way more sense. @nate_d376
@@dommoore6180 Fallout 3 and NV are clearly more limited by the Engine/Hardware than Fallout 1 and 2. The amount of areas that need loading screens the minimal amount of NPCs per area, the terrible graphics (Even worse than Fallout 1) , … clearly shows how much those games were limited by the technology of their time because they were 3D when making 3D games was pretty hard for current hardware. 2D Games like Fallout 1 and 2 however where not nearly as much hardware limited as even in the late 1990s PCs where pretty good at displaying 2D games, and so they are not nearly as much limited by technology as Fallout 3 and NV.
Playing Fallout 4 again and honestly, it holds up. A newcomer wouldn't know it wasn't a recent game, especially on a decent PC. Looks fantastic, plays great and is amazing fun.
Huh How so? It looked old even back in 2015, when compared to other games released than Year, like Witcher 3, Just Cause 3, Metal Gear Solid V, … So how does it now hold up when it was already behind in 2015?
Nobody left to care these days when it comes to BGS. Other studios are producing far better results. Morrowind was a long time ago now... BGS refuses to evolve beyond that Era.
GTA 5 came out in 2013 whilst TES V Skyrim came out 2011, GTA 6 is arriving next year (probably late next year) and Elder Scrolls 6 might come 5 years from now at least.... GTA and Elder Scrolls have been my favorite video game franchises ever and yet we got nothing
I believe the issue is the people that are in charge of actually making the games. Back in the day, the majority of developers (and their companies), were a bunch of nerds, who wanted to keep a franchise going. Today however, we have corporate jocks that control everything, and it's all based on money/profit. Point being, "heart" isn't in the mainstream industry anymore. Have to go to the indie side for that.
If it were for "corporate jocks" they'd rather have released tes6 and fo5 already, which are already proven successful IPs, instead of wasting time in Starfield. Also corporates rush developers to publish games, instead of waiting 15+ years for release.
Even Skyblivion, which is a remake of an 18 year old game, redone with a 12 year old engine, is taking 6 million years to develop. Who the hell wants to play that by then? By the time these new games are ready, the original fanbase will be in their early 50s and the new gen will see it as legacy crap.
Also keep in mind that not necessarily and excessive amount of waiting time before each release from certain developers such as Bethesda, nor necessarily their IP, I feel like Bethesda on this case uses the hype that Fallour and TES causes to their public, because I don’t feel that they as developers take as much time to release things. And also this can’t be related to releasing stuff with an extreme amount of quality, for example look at from software and their 2 to 4 year wait from each release, and all of them masterpieces
The fact that I wasn’t even in middle school when Fallout 4 came out and I vividly remember playing it on release and I am now living on my own with my own career and the next Elder Scrolls or Fallout is still YEARS away is ridiculous. By the time both of those games come out I’ll likely have very little time to even play games. My opinion is that Bethesda NEEDS to outsource their IPs to other studios and let them help and develop the next games in the series. I’m sure most people would agree that Fallout should be outsourced to Obsidian for example. Or hell if they don’t want to do that, then they do need to hire more people so they can have multiple teams in house working on the multiple franchises so progress is at least being made therefore reducing the wait between games.
Im 29. Ill likely be 45-50 by the time Fallout 5 comes out.... That is crazy to me. And it will most probably be the last Fallout game ill play before kicking the bucket. Mind blown.
Besides the next gen updates, they’ve abandoned all of the fallout games, save for 76. No way they would spend any effort developing new dlc for an almost 10 year old game.
One thing I never understood was how it takes longer to develop a game. Think about it, shouldn't technology as it progresses make it easier to rapidly prototype gameplay ideas? As an 3D artist I can see Ai and awesome software updates hugely speed up my workflow. I would however, much rather an evolution in character Ai, game play mechanics and immersion than pretty graphics.
It’s too bad they wasted all that time on Starfield. We didn’t need a new IP from Bethesda, they should have just stuck with what they’re good at, Elder Scrolls and Fallout. I’d much rather be playing Elder Scrolls VI right now over a piece of trash like Starfield. What a waste! They won’t even Let Obsidian make another NV to hold is over! Ugh.
I think we are the problem here and mods.As long we buy Bethesda games over ,and over again , and making mods forever , and ever.Bethesda Games never changes
The fact that we are going to have to wait at least 5 years for a new elder scrolls and a new fallout is insane. And after all that wait it will probably still be full of bugs and extremely crash happy like every other game they have released.
Fo3 will prolly get a remaster or remake but they will not touch FNV. Bethesda hates talking about that game since it's regarded by many as the best one in the franchise. I even hear they don't have any posters up of that game in their office.
The thing is they could reduce the development time significantly if they use AI to bring all the maps from fallout 3 to 4 including the DLC to starfield graphics after that just get a new writing and designing team
following bethesda's timeframe, i will be IN MY THIRTIES when fallout 5 comes out.... I WAS TWELVE when fallout 4 came out..... WHAT THE HELL I'm 20 now turning 21 in july. IT honestly hurts how long its going to take. "luckily:' I heard there are rumors that Microsoft might try pushing out a fallout game sooner by giving it to another developer due to the success of the show but honestly who knows and most likely that will still be like idk 6 years from now. its crazy!! i also watched one video and they mentioned how we could get MULTIPLE seasons (Like 5 or 6) of the fallout show and could see it even end before the next game releases.
Starfield could've never happened and nobody would have flinched. The money and resources on that game should've been put towards the new ES or Fallout. ...
Bethesda hasn’t made a good game since Fallout 4. And that was 2015. And ES6 is at least another 4 to 5 years away. Hell who knows if I’ll even be alive when Fallout 5 comes out 🫠🫠🫠
M$ should step in to hire more staff and devs on the BGS team. Hope they get it right with Shattered Space or we'll be waiting a lightyear for the next ES or Fallout. Why they didn't add fallout shelters on planets to locate in SF is beyond me. It would've helped.
Bethesda should create a Fallout team, an Elder Scrolls team, and a Starfield team. As much money as those games make, there's no reason they can't expand their company.
It makes it worse that obsidian revealed they offered to make more spin offs but Bethesda said no. 20 years between main fallout games is crazy and something only Bethesda would see as acceptable. I hope xbox/Microsoft will help them get it together i just love elder scrolls and fallout and wish we got more games
My fear is I won’t be alive by the time Fallout 5 releases as a matter of fact I wonder even Todd would be alive for development cycle People say the new games don’t feel and play like old games for most AAA titles but that’s given the whole team changes cause well the old team got older or moved on
Whoever thought to take forever and make starfield was wrong. Games take forever to make so let's make a new IP our beloved franchises take even longer to come out. I'm 41 and ill probably only see one more fallout installment in my lifetime.
Same my first I loved it even though my brother gave me the earache saying fallout nv was the OG but I went back to play nv and I think I missed the train for that game it's just to old for me maybe remaster it ?
Tbf if people didn't buy every new version of Skyrim they'd probably have tried to make a sequel earlier. But also absolutely these release gaps are disgustingly stupid.
elder scrolls is a far more popular and wanted franchise than Fallout, but i get it, any one of these two would have been better than starfield given their limited engine. i remember an interview where todd said they don't have the technology to make what they want planned for the next elder scrolls, which either suggests they plan on using a new engine or they plan on researching a new way to make the creation engine work better for what they have planned, starfield may have been a flop, but they still made massive money on the game regardless because almost nobody got their money back because people kept saying they need to play more than 12 hours before the game got good, which was long passed the threshold of getting their money back, so bethesda made a fuckload of money, i just hope they use that money wisely, because it feels like they are on their last leg this time, after starfield and FO76, people don't trust them to make good on games like elder scrolls or even Fallout. just because they flopped both franchises of FO and starfield. i want to believe they can do better job, but i just don't have a whole lot of faith in them.

Audience reaction? 76 at launch yes but now it seems it has a big and very passionate community, while yes Starfield reaction is mixed and definitely underwhelming. But from an economical pov both 76 and Starfield are massive success. Starfield, while also being free on GamePass, managed to be in the top 10 of the most sold games of 2023 (for ex: Baldur's Gate 3 isn't among the top 20, so ofc we aren't talking about quality), the only 2023 game among the top 10 most played games in 2023 (the others were all at least 7 years older and mostly multiplayer games), is the third most sold game on Steam of past year and also had 300.000 players in the Early access week meaning that almost half a million people payed 100+ bucks for Early Access. @@Prodrentjet no it's the same engine, it was upgraded sure, but it's the same engine regardless what you think on this matter. but your right on the fact that they kept with this engine for the modding capability's, that's the only real reason to keep this engine to be honest. i was talking with someone the other day who was talking about the file structure having something to do with starfield's esp files and esl and bsa, and he talked about how some of these file structures are not used for starfield which only allows mods to work on a very specific store that bethesda plan on releasing for starfield at some point. but his issue was that it felt intentional to prevent modding outside of Bethesda's store, which he exclaimed might be why so many modders have abandoned starfield, because it looks intentional that bethesda locked out the modders that use other websites outside of their own, which is why the file structure is so messed up and why some kinds of mods won't work anymore like they did on their older games. he mentioned that if this was Bethesda's ultimate idea to do this on purpose, than this could destroy bethesda and their future titles from now on. because it means all the really amazing and good mods will never hit their newer games ever again, it will always be the lazy broken mods only using the creation kit in the future, meaning they didn't really upgrade the engine, they just said they did but instead they made it so nobody can use these other file structures which made good modding possible in their games. which is pretty nuts to think about because it's the modding scene who really make their games sell like crazy, it's what keeps their games popular all to be thrown away because of a stupid decision to prevent these mods from other file structures.

Quite ridiculous
@codariousisawesome Todd has his 9 billion dollars, he clearly has no excuse to care anymore, it's all downhill from here, he's run out of good will and he knows it.
Like I really don't know why I still care I should just give up
It's fairly clear that the majority of the great minds and passionate employees who delivered Fallout 3 and Skyrim left Bethesda Game Studios many years ago.
This makes me depressed knowing I’ll be old waiting for it😞

You mean lie to millions of people multiple times on national TV about features that will be in your game that were completely absent? You mean sell a beta for $60? Nah.
Bethesda should've just skipped to Starfield after Fallout 4
I was thinking about this yesterday. Personally, i really didn’t like fallout 4 (mostly because of the writing and dialogue system) but i really think that they could keep players happier by making more dragonbron and far harbor sized DLCs for those two games once a year or even once every 2 or 3 years.
Less milking popular old game ips with dlc and more putting in effort to games and less into scamming people out of more money by releasing incomplete trash that you have to pay for endings
That was only Fallout 3. You’re a decade late.
Online games make up too much of the cause for lack of well made and fun singleplayer games
The thing with fallout 3 is that the dlc was actually pretty good unlike the old horse armor stunt but you are right about the ending tbh
Just one problem with that. Consumers are still buying that incomplete trash. And so the cycle or releasing that trash will continue.
I must be old or something but I miss when games were released finished and had secrets that you could find and didn’t need to buy
Would be good if at least they would be good games. After starfield i have no hope for fallout and elder scrolls.

It's ridiculous that Bethesda does not pawn off their series to other developers like Obsidian anymore.
I’m glad major outlets are finally talking about this issue
Fallout 3 is 15 years old. Skyrim is 12 years old. These were the last great bethesda games. Let that sink in.

Fallout Shelter was pretty good.
Since the release of Skyrim in 2011, From Software has produced three Dark Souls games (with the first one also released in 2011), Bloodborne, and Elden Ring.
Yeah, but those are just asset flips of their previous games. So they barely had any work to do to dish them out so fast. Thats not gonna be the case with the next TES or FO game.
lets not forgett Sekiro and Armoured core 6
Its because all their games are literally the same, just some different skins and lore

Well.. When you realize that we still don't have the DLC for Starfield or the Creation Kit, you know it's gonna be a long journey ^^

Well they were trusted with Fallout, TES was their very own creation to begin with
I don't want to sound cocky but I saw it coming from years away. The whole concept of Starfield looked as if it had nothing to offer compared to Fallout and ES.

I agree with the isometric game style. Fr the originals were just like that. I know no rest for the wicked isn't a Bethesda title. Starfield is such a turkey, if it was good we'd all be playing it rather than pining for new ES or FO. I don't even think DLC can save starfield.
The worst part is Starfield showed they haven’t learned a damn thing and who knows what kind of game we will get.
17 years between games... and people still writing dont rush it 😂😂😂 ahaha.. We are living in clown asylum
Imagine if they didn't screw over Obsidian.
After starfields flop, who cares? If it’s anything like that it’ll be barely noticed
Imagine if Obsidion got to make all the Fallout games after New Vegas, and Bethesda didn't make Starfield.
We'd be in a very different place.
If not for starfield, we would've had TES 6 by now... They had to reinvent the wheel with fo76 and starfield.
Mind blown.
Let's hope season 2 won't take as long. 😂
By the time fallout 5 releases, the show could have like 7 seasons😅
If Bethesda decided to forget fallout 5 and just make tonnes of new story expansion DLC for Fallout 4, i would be happy to buy that.
I want a remaster or remake of FO3 almost more than anything else
I'd give anything for a Fallout 3 with updated graphics
Well as I see it Bethesda doesn't own the fallout IP Microsoft does now so they could give it to another studio to make if they really wanted to
Starfield could've never happened and nobody would have flinched. The money and resources on that game should've been put towards the new ES or Fallout. ...
At this point Microsoft needs to just straight up ORDER bethesda to let someone else make Elder scrolls and Fallout games.
Bethesda hasn’t made a good game since Fallout 4. And that was 2015. And ES6 is at least another 4 to 5 years away. Hell who knows if I’ll even be alive when Fallout 5 comes out 🫠🫠🫠
You'd have quite a few disagree with you on FO4. I don't know why. I enjoyed it.
The gap between Skyrim and TES6 is far bigger. TES fans recently had it far worse than Fallout fans.
M$ should step in to hire more staff and devs on the BGS team. Hope they get it right with Shattered Space or we'll be waiting a lightyear for the next ES or Fallout. Why they didn't add fallout shelters on planets to locate in SF is beyond me. It would've helped.
This is why I'm fine with the new AI implication being used for video games. It can sort out some of the tasks in seconds
Starfield was not worth the 8 year wait, that's for sure
Bethesda should create a Fallout team, an Elder Scrolls team, and a Starfield team. As much money as those games make, there's no reason they can't expand their company.
It makes it worse that obsidian revealed they offered to make more spin offs but Bethesda said no. 20 years between main fallout games is crazy and something only Bethesda would see as acceptable. I hope xbox/Microsoft will help them get it together i just love elder scrolls and fallout and wish we got more games
My fear is I won’t be alive by the time Fallout 5 releases as a matter of fact I wonder even Todd would be alive for development cycle
People say the new games don’t feel and play like old games for most AAA titles but that’s given the whole team changes cause well the old team got older or moved on
Whoever thought to take forever and make starfield was wrong. Games take forever to make so let's make a new IP our beloved franchises take even longer to come out. I'm 41 and ill probably only see one more fallout installment in my lifetime.
And fallout 4 is my first fallout game in the series
Same my first I loved it even though my brother gave me the earache saying fallout nv was the OG but I went back to play nv and I think I missed the train for that game it's just to old for me maybe remaster it ?
So you’re saying that fallout 76, ESO, and Starfield were unneeded?
I’d have to agree sir.
Tbf if people didn't buy every new version of Skyrim they'd probably have tried to make a sequel earlier.
But also absolutely these release gaps are disgustingly stupid.
They spend the last 8 years on starfield and 76…they could have dropped elder scrolls and be halfway done with fallout 5 by now. Horrible management.
Should have scrapped No mans Starfield and done another fallout.
elder scrolls is a far more popular and wanted franchise than Fallout, but i get it, any one of these two would have been better than starfield given their limited engine.
i remember an interview where todd said they don't have the technology to make what they want planned for the next elder scrolls, which either suggests they plan on using a new engine or they plan on researching a new way to make the creation engine work better for what they have planned, starfield may have been a flop, but they still made massive money on the game regardless because almost nobody got their money back because people kept saying they need to play more than 12 hours before the game got good, which was long passed the threshold of getting their money back, so bethesda made a fuckload of money, i just hope they use that money wisely, because it feels like they are on their last leg this time, after starfield and FO76, people don't trust them to make good on games like elder scrolls or even Fallout.
just because they flopped both franchises of FO and starfield.
i want to believe they can do better job, but i just don't have a whole lot of faith in them.

no it's the same engine, it was upgraded sure, but it's the same engine regardless what you think on this matter.
but your right on the fact that they kept with this engine for the modding capability's, that's the only real reason to keep this engine to be honest.
i was talking with someone the other day who was talking about the file structure having something to do with starfield's esp files and esl and bsa, and he talked about how some of these file structures are not used for starfield which only allows mods to work on a very specific store that bethesda plan on releasing for starfield at some point.
but his issue was that it felt intentional to prevent modding outside of Bethesda's store, which he exclaimed might be why so many modders have abandoned starfield, because it looks intentional that bethesda locked out the modders that use other websites outside of their own, which is why the file structure is so messed up and why some kinds of mods won't work anymore like they did on their older games.
he mentioned that if this was Bethesda's ultimate idea to do this on purpose, than this could destroy bethesda and their future titles from now on.
because it means all the really amazing and good mods will never hit their newer games ever again, it will always be the lazy broken mods only using the creation kit in the future, meaning they didn't really upgrade the engine, they just said they did but instead they made it so nobody can use these other file structures which made good modding possible in their games.
which is pretty nuts to think about because it's the modding scene who really make their games sell like crazy, it's what keeps their games popular all to be thrown away because of a stupid decision to prevent these mods from other file structures.
I dont understand why they arent either giving other devs the possibilities to create inbetween offshoots... instead of outerworlds and avowed im sure obsidian would have created awesome TES/FO games.... or why they dont build dedicated Fallout / TES teams so that we get releases faster... you can say all bad stuff about companies like Ubi or EA but at least they produce content...at least let some chinese dev remaster obsidian in ue5 or something
Waiting 13 years for a sequel is CRAZY. I don't care what good reason they mite be using. Imagine waiting 13 years for the next Pokemon games. That is just ridiculous.
They wasted all their energy on Shitfield. Of course it needs way to much time. Maybe we get one of the two in 2030 or later 😂
Starfield could have been really cool I just think they didn’t know exactly WHAT they were making and what direction they wanted to take it.
Energy they could’ve spent porting Fallout 4 to the Switch.
@@ashtondillard6906 Yes it could have. With less Planets. Better Planets. Real Time Planet Traveling and not evry 5 seconds a Loading Screen for everything. It could have been good.
@@ashtondillard6906this is it, I think it’s a jack of all trades and master of none type game. It sounds like it does many things fairly ok but nothing great. Probably because they split the production between many teams working on individual things and then when they came together nothing jelled.
But can I pre-order it now?
As a life long elderscrolls fan and my favourite franchise ever being fallout I would love if the rumours were true around the remastered versions of 3 and oblivion that would tie me over with if it were done correctly would be insane or the dream that they pass the torch to get a new spin off out hopefully fingers crossed that happens
I can’t imagine these long dev times are sustainable. 10-15 years means you are skipping entire swaths of gamers.
Disgraceful to make fans wait 17 years to make the next game like Skyrim.
The same can be said about GTA. Large games take forever to come out.
Honestly I hope ES6 flops at this point and the IP gets sold
They don't even need to expand. They can make a spin-off like New Vegas 2 simultaneously. Partnering with Obsidian, it should be really doable right now as both Bethesda and Obsidian are part of Microsoft.
That’s Bethesda for you
It's this way because of the online versions of both games. The longer you wait for the single version you will play the online version.
ESO isn’t developed by Bethesda.
This is what's so great about the tv show. Undoubtedly, those in charge of the corporate side of Bethesda are going to want a Fallout game ASAP. While that might take 8-9 years, I think that the show definitely sped up the time table for the next Fallout.
Yeah I think the same, I kinda wish this series came out earlier though as I don’t think it’ll change anything as far as when the next fallout will come out as they already have Starfield out and working on ES now. What it may do is give us a remake of new vegas or some other studio will work on a new fallout (my hope is obsidian)
I was the biggest elder scrolls and fallout fan still go back to them but the way they take 40 years to release a game I lost all hope in Bethesda atleave we have elden ring dlc coming can always depend on fromsoft
Development for games in general has significantly increased, its a double-edged sword at the end of the day.
