Isolation is still and ever my best favorite album. The live I went for the first time in my life was TOTO when I was 13 years old. That’s Fahrenheit album tour so I missed to see Fergie performance. I missed Fergie and RIP.
Fergie was quite possibly the best vocalist ever employed by Toto...It’s unfortunate he was only in the band for one album. As far as Joseph Williams a close second, that’s debatable. Bobby Kimball in his prime, could vocally hit notes that Williams could only dream of hitting.
@@lastchance7463 True. But I don't think the high notes are what determines those things. Joe had a rougher and more hard rock style sound, which I prefer to Kimball's soul/R&B style of singing. But that's all a matter of taste of course. I tend to like those kinds of vocalists in general 🙌
@@MichaelHolmgaardFor me all of their singers brought something to the band. Fergie brought more of an Arena Rock sound, Bobby more of a Pop Rock/R&B sound to the band, and Joe brought a softer rock and kind of soft R&B sound to the band.
first, toto blew my mind with bobby kimball. then, fergie stepped in and blew my mind again and i wish i had gone to see them while fergie was alive!!! i have to say that while toto has always seemed to have problems with their lead singers, every one of them were the very best choices that any group could have ever made. each one of them seemed to be tailored for the group. fergie is gone and so are mike and jeff porcaro. i'm very fortunate to be able to say that i met and spoke with mike porcaro while they were doing the mindfields tour in atlantic city, he was truly a very gacious man....and i've met a few rock stars in my lifetime and i could tell which ones were a bit fake. mike porcaro was the real deal and i will always treasure the time he and his lovely wife spent talking and taking photo's with me before the show. mike also had me moved right to the front of the stage. one of my favorite things to do at the shows that i went to was to be able to look the mucicians right in the eyes and get an up close look at their guitar work while they play. that night was also great because lukather remembered me from their kingdom of desire tour when they hit baltimore. all in all toto are some of the very best musicians in the entire world and it gives me goosebumps when i think that i was actually listening to them alot on a.m. radio back in the very early 70's before they had even thought of putting toto together. i believe that most people would be shocked to find out that they've played on thousands of recordings for thousands of arists and i think the fact that they all grew up in california, going to school together and hanging out with some of music's best artists is what made them who they were and still are. it's sad that jeff and mike are gone and steve porcaro is now deaf in one ear, fergie died of cancer and bobby kimball is suffering with a touch of dementia. from what i understand, david paich has diabeties but is still working with luke and joe williams. luke and joe have actually put together what is the 15th incarnation of toto and they're reall good and they've grabbed some top notch players. they're not the original group but they're okay.
All great dudes! Great human beings. Bobby was a great friend untill his health issues. Fergie was truly a great buddy I miss dearly (did his website for 25 plus years). Luke is Luke. Always taking care of his friends and fans. Always remeber what we talked about the last time, freaky memory on him, but I love him dearly! No one is like him.

Damn, Ferg should have been huge. I wish he did more with Toto. Isolation was such a solid, thorough, unique album. Mr Friendly is such a banger.
