    No golfer in the history of the game would be able to compete with Tiger from 2000-2002

      Balzo93 You would be correct in the clip that was winning. However, the level of golf he achieved in 2000-2002 was never reached in 2005-2009. In 2000-2002 was greatest level of golf that has ever been played and will most likely never be reached again

    Most likely his greatest non-major performance....I remember this made headlines as it was his debut Tournament of his "new" Nike Blades....everyone doubted how the Nike blades would perform since he went away from the Titleist ones. #memorylane

    • @maxcaysey2844
      @maxcaysey2844 3 года назад +2

      I still hold that Nike made inferous woods... The blades Tiger used was apparantly just as good as any mizuno or Titleist, but the woods sucked. Tiger went back the the Titleist 975D like two years after he switched for a few tournaments... it was a real embarisment for Nike... Alas, it was not meant to be.
      All in all, had Nike not put up something like 200 mil dollars in his contract, the biggest ever in sports at the time, he would have stuck with Titleist, which I still believe made on average far superious equipment!

    • @hosoiarchives4858
      @hosoiarchives4858 Год назад +1

      I remember well, Tigers Titleist clubs were treated like holy artifacts and the golf world didn’t know how they would go on without them. Golf would have turned out a lot different if Tiger had stayed with Titleist

    That was that crappy first Nike driver. Man that thing was crap. ... But the ignite driver on the other hand?.. One of the best drivers ever made..but 975D is still the best overall. Not as long on average as today's, but there is still some spots I've reached with that driver that i haven't reached since.

      La Esco Blanca His swing from 2002, in my opinion, looked as if he was taking the club outside in his takeaway. This was probably done in an effort to prevent hooking the ball too much. I seem to think his 2001 swing looked more on plane.

    Its absolutely crazy how far he hit that 43.5" Steels-hafted driver. Over 350 on occasions... 2020 tech, make the drives go about 30 yards longer... He swung that club so fast. Above 120 mph for sure to get those distances. He would out drive every one on your except maybe Cameron Champ if the 2000-2002 Tiger had todays equipment.

    • @ScratchArkkitehti

      Butch said TW swung it around the mid 130s at the top end. Cam cruises at 128....apples to apples there.

      @Whoopdido777 4 года назад

      At this point of his career (this tournament) he had just recently switched over to Nike and started using a bigger head with a graphite shaft that was longer and lighter. Tiger said “Oh my God, I picked up some distance and some speed.” His club fitter said that at this point of his career, his stock driver swings were producing ball speeds north of 190 mph.

    • @SKBAB97

      Matt Anderson Wow lol. It’s crazy to think what he could have done back then with today’s equipment if he was putting up those numbers with what he was using at the time

    • @Whoopdido777
      @Whoopdido777 4 года назад

      @@SKBAB97 Yeah I think he’d be right there with Finau, Champ and Dechambeau...basically a cut above the next longest hitters like Dustin Johnson, Rory, Gary Woodland, etc. The question is whether or not he’d be able to keep it straight. I think he was reluctant to switch from the 43.5 inch steel shaft to the modern stuff was because he was afraid of losing accuracy. He never was overly accurate anyway...even during his prime. So faster clubhead speeds and faster ball speeds, but if the club isn’t in the right position equals a more offline shot than if everything was slowed down.

    Two stupid comments in a row. Tiger's better hitting long irons from the tee. Where'd he learn it from? And then Jack didn't hit his one iron as far as Tiger hits his deuce. Let Tigs get summa dat one iron from the fairway at Baltusrol on '67. With those rubber putt'putt balls they played with back then. Jack's game was thirty years advanced from the people he played against. Jock sniffers!!
