And if Malak didn't betray Revan, then we'd have a battle between Revan's Sith Empire (with Triumvirate members and Exile at his side) and True Sith Empire. Can you imagine the slaughter like that?
@oldfashionedguy91 Its not wrong they are just adding a bit to what is already known. What they are saying is Revan was originally sent by the emperor to find the Star Forge to prepare for the sith return. But if you listen closely to the video he says "The closer they got to the star forge the more BOTH SITH LORDS had images of their own empire" meaning both Revan and Malek begin thinking about betraying the emperor before they found the star forge
I hope the spirits of Revan, Traya, Nihilus, Sion, Meetra, and several other characters from both KOTOR 1 and KOTOR 2 will get to make apperance in future movies.
Yup, speaking of fleet Rakatan technology is always superior (just look how happy Malgus was to get The Foundry). And talking about Force, not only Revan and Exile had a very strong chance to defeat Vitiate themselves, but what would he even do if he faced immortal Sion. Exile was able to persuade Sion to die, that was the only way. Emperor might try to brainwash Sion, but Revan figured out the way to cloud the mind from him, so it's not a problem. And Nihilus? How would Vitiate fight the void?
@Gthang213 good idea. noticed in the new old republic game they all have revan armor. but i think revan went away either to try take him on or to hide until the dark lord comes out and attacks so he can attack him. and the exile went seeking for him and they make small army.
The Rakata build the star forge over 250 centuries ago, not 25 centuries. 25 centuries wouldn't have made sense, for there would have been far more obvious remains of the infinite empire.
Actually everyone went against each other in Kotor and KotorII,as the emperor's plan was but revan returned to the light side and he destroyed his own empire. Then he went to fight the emperor(the leader of the true sith) and after the exile helped the republic and destroyed the sith triumvirate(remnants of revan's sith empire),he followed revan, but they never returned, and the true sith stroke after 300 years.
It's off due to the info about the Star Forge, whom another person brought up, and how Bastila appears to be fighting alongside Revan against Darth Malak. Those parts aren't true. Anyone who played KOTOR would say that that's the truth.
It's called politically correct history. They want to build up the narrative that Bastila was some great Jedi Master instead of some Padawan washout who was only valued due to her power, and who fell to the Dark Side and had to be saved by an amnesiac Sith Lord.
@Gthang213,Yes, I do too. Its like you say, he used to serve him, but soon started to get his own ideas for the galaxy. But when it came to the Star Forge, he didn't see it as Malak did. Revan saw a giant battle station, Malak saw it as living. Thats why he used it a bit more, because he beleaved it fueled him with the dark side, when inface, it fed of his dark side. Just wanted to tell you that. Fun Facts.
Wow this answers so many things I have been wondering after finishing the original KOTOR. It is great to see that they aren't planning on leaving out the "origin" story so to speak.... because if we didn't have KOTOR, we wouldn't be able to get TOR. Thank you, Bioware for making such amazing games!
@MKER2 reven was no puppet he did it for his own gain as all sith do and he went after the starforge for his own soon after. and as for the hand blocking a lightsaber its just like blocking blaster fire but it takes more focus.
@ILGAR93 Is that game a mod? I have never seen it in the stores. But you're right about Revan. He did became the Dark Lord in order to save the galaxy. If I remember correctly Kreia said something like that. Even if he didn't Revan is still too awesome and I would've rather had another KOTOR game then TOR. But im not giving up hope.
Revan is the greateast, stongest, most cunning Jedi and powerfull user of the Force in the Old Republic. Revan je največi, najjači, vrlo lukav Jedi i najmoćniji korisnik Sile u Staroj Republici.
The next SW movies should use these fantastic cinematics for inspiration. I hear people say they want a Old Republic movies or shows, but not yet for me. I want Lucasfilm to try out first with adapting the High Republic era. They are going to start with the Acolyte show. But for movies, they can use the Nihil as main antagonist and take some cues from the war between the Sith Empire and Jedi Order in the past.
@Gthang213 They had concept art and teams working in animations. They were about halfway into the game when LucasArts ran out of funds and filed for bankruptcy. After they got back on their feet, they for some reason called it quits on the KotOR project.
@vreeland17, heres what I think happend, I think Revan Fought the Emperor alone the first time, but was beaten because the Emperor cheats using his Sith. He captures Revan in his fortress. Exile comes along and frees him, then they have a big epic fight against the Emperor and a whole mess of Sith. Revan and Exile combined there power and end up blowing everything to shit. The Emperor just bearly servives the explosion, and finds Revan and Exile dead in the rabble.
@vreeland17, I agree. Revan know what he was doing. He know when he was taking over the galaxy, when he was destroying the star forge, and most of all, when he dead trying to save the galaxy from the Emperor.
@Exar kun Castillo lol if Dave and Jon are involved no they won’t I think Disney has learned there lesion after the sequels all they need to do is make Dave the head of Star Wars then we’re good
@Grobbius Yes if you play the republic side you get to rescue Revan and talk to him afterwords, if you play Empire though you will have to take Revan down
@ExcelSub His name is Master Vandar Tokare. And neither Revan nor the Exile are going to be in The Old Republic, mostly because Obsidian and BioWare have both stated they still want a crack at an actual KotoR III and because neither one of them would have survived for 300 years.
i wonder if revan's disappearance after kotor 1 was planned to be "in search for sith empire", or bioware made themselves some free space they are using now.
I like how this video (and TOR as a whole) disrespects the contributions made to the story by KotOR II, but are still willing to use the destroyed Jedi Enclave song in this video.
@Digga1221 There have actually been force-sensitive humans that lived for over 300 years, but yes, I sincerely doubt we will see either of them in the game.
@HillyOTM In all fairness, you can't really blame them for ruining the ending (even though there are other ways the game could end...) because you have had a very long time to play through the game... about seven years...
@lilcompton310 this pretty much is kotor 3, im dissapointed though. i was hoping to team up with the exile and revan in this one but its too far ahead in the future.
Dick pole Because it ignores the original reason Revan and Malak fell. The same reason the Exile was exiled. The call of war spoke to them more than the calmness of peace. They found a Star Map, and it led them to Korriban, then to the Star Forge. The Secret Sith Empire story makes no sense for one major reason: if Revan and Malak were planning on using the Star Forge to attack the Vitiate's Empire, why attack the Republic first? It weakened both their forces and the Republic's. If there was originally a Sith Empire in the Unknown Regions, why not attack there first?
Because Malak didn't care. The Mandalorian Wars DID corrupt them, along with their followers, to the Dark Side. However, when Revan and Malak went to Dromund Kaas and learned about Vitiate's plans, Revan realized that in order to defeat the True Sith Empire, the Republic would need to be stronger. If they couldn't defend against the Mandalorians, they stood no chance against the Sith. So after they both failed to kill Vitiate and were mind-dominated, they began their search for the Star Forge under his orders. However, when they broke his control, it became Revan's goal not to destroy the Republic, but to use the Star Forge to conquer the Republic in order to make is stronger. However, Malak's ambition led him to betray Revan and wage the war in a much more violent way. It was Malak that bombed Telos and Taris. He wanted to rule the galaxy, while Revan wanted to strengthen it by cutting away the weakness.
FreakDaMIghet Why would he attack and weaken the Republic then? Revan and Malak were Heroes to the Republic. If he wanted to Strengthen it's defenses to attack the Sith why in space would he attack and destroy Fleets? Why would he not reveal the Star Forge (And the Foundry, a random other Ratakan War Machine 'revealed' in TOR) and take direct command over the Republic's Forces, then Strike? He would have a greater Army, a better Defense, and the hearts and minds of the Republic Citizens while attacking.
Wyatt Tyson Because Revan had already fallen to the Dark Side, even without Vitiate's influence. The Jedi (especially Atris and Vrook) would never have allied with him, even if he told them about the Sith Empire. Revan's goal was originally to take the Republic using the superior forces of the Star Forge with minimal casualties, but Malak took over and became more focused on destroying the Republic. If you talk to Atton in KOTOR 2, he even specifically says that Revan's primary goal was to recruit people to his cause, and only killed them if they refused to turn. Malak was the one flying around and bombing planets.
Block Nihilus? Only Jedi who I remember resisted was Exile and only because she was a wound in the Force, so it was impossible to drain it from her, only lose it. Most of other Jedi were already devoured by him, and after the fight with Meetra he died, so who was it who learned to block his attacks and when exactly? 0_o Nihilus might not care about Vitiate at first, but he might eventually since they had same desire - devour the galaxy (eventually). Plus if he actually was working for Revan...
@Gthang213 I'm all for expanding the MMO market, (though I hate MMO's myself) but this series won't be KotOR 345 etc. KotOR was based on the story of Revan and the Exile. Aren't you the least bit disappointed that you won't be able to walk in the shoes of the most interesting Star Wars character to confront the Sith'ari? All we'll be getting as penance is a sidequest. I bet Revan will end up being a Sith zombie that you'll have to fight. I can't stand that idea.
@theboxnet No it isn't.in KOTOR you play Revan AFTER he has been caught by the Jedi Council and had his memory removed. I was talking about when he first fell to the Dark Side. Playing him in the mandalorian wars and find out what he found. Because of what he found he became the Dark Lord. Some rumors indicate that he became the Dark Lord in order to protect the galaxy from an even bigger threat.
@FreakDaMIghet I think Revan did at first decided to serve the emperor when he and malek came back to republic space. It wasn't until after he began looking for the star forge that he got ambitious and decided to form his own sith empire. Malek just got ambitious faster than revan did and turned on him. But i do believe at one point he was a servant to the emperor. Besides bioware themselves said he served the emperor after he met him and they are the ones who created this series.
@mikesgotniceice, That moment spoiled my imagination of him. I had my own idea of what he looked like, and it was NOT that. But they DID create Revan and have a right to choose his face.
Im currently reading the TOR: Revan novel so, i think i needed this info. :) , also im very interested in Darth Malak, don't know if there's any more information about him
@oldfashionedguy91 continue.... Once they found the star forge Revan decided to take his ambitions for their own Empire and began to leave republic bases and weapons in tact so they will be ready for the Sith to return then he could have his own empire. But then Malek became ambitions too fast and turned on Revan. So it doesn't break from the original story line they are just adding a new layer to what we already know about Revan and Malek
@FreakDaMIghet Actually he knew about the other powers of the station but he choice not to use it because he saw that it was something that could not be controlled but instead it controlled the people that used it. He saw what it did to the Rakita (sorry if i spelled that wrong) empire and did not want the same thing. Malek however was ignorant to that fact. But there is no doubt about it to me that at the beginning Revan was a mere tool of the emperor
@Gthang213 Correction: Revan and Malak found the Dantooine map BEFORE they entered the Mandalorian Wars. Revan wanted to find the others, and that was his reason for entering the war.
@jakilia I honestly doubt it though if he does make an appearance it will probably be as a hologram from a holocron at best. Everything points to the fact that Revan dies trying to stop the emperor
@ultimatekotorfan Am a little dissapointed, yes but only a little. But I like this idea TOR is bringing more for the reasons I stated before. But as to discovering the fate of Revan, There is no way they are going to ruin his character by making him a "Sith Zombie". Revan is their baby. Plus Drew Karpyshan is one of the writers for the game, who was also the lead writer for KoTOR. Plus Drew announced that he is writing a book about Revan and what happened to him told from Revans perspective
This was a bit disappointing. KOTOR 2 basically says that Revan was well aware of the Sith Empire before the end of the Mandorlorian Wars. Indeed Revan and Malak were looking for the Star Forge during the actual Wars, and Revan even used Malachor V to sort out those in the Republic not loyal to him. The two's disappearance was just them finding the Star Forge which they planed on unleashing on The Sith after unifying the Republic.
Revan was trying to save the Republic by assimilating it into his own empirem that's what the narrataro meant by "Revan's own ambitions". Malak, however, screwed things up...
From what I heard about Star Wars history, True Sith Empire fell around 1000 years before Revan and Malak, with its last emperors Ludo Kresh and Naga Sadow. After Old Republic won over True Sith on Korriban (Sith native world) Naga Sadow who surived under unexplained circumstances gone to the Unknown Regions where he probably seduce population with his Dark Side magic and start to rise his new empire, but True Sith race (red skin humans) doesnt exist since then, only followers of their teaching.
So many memories from kotor coming back after watching this.
As someone who's never played KOTOR, Revan comes off as someone that fans wanted Anakin to be.
He kind of is.
After seeing this, it comes off as something fans wanted the Disney's Star Wars to be. But, as it shows, when you bet on the Dark Side, you're often betrayed by it.
That's honestly a pretty accurate description
And the Mandalorian Wars are what fans wanted the Clone Wars to be.
In what ways are they different?
"Crushing" victory at Malachor. Dem puns.
3:16 shows bastila and revan taking on malak, but in kotor, bastila stayed behind to help the republic with her battle meditation
Goes to show that historians tamper with the truth of the past to hide details they don't like.
The nostalgia is strong with this one.

I saw somewhere that these where new but they show they are old, these however are really well done.
They are non canon thanks to disney, now we have to deal with the high republic...
@@femtoservantsOld Republic is slowly making it's way back into Canon now.
after the wars the first jedi purge became with darth taya and her apprentices darth nihlus and darth sion lord of pain destroying hundrends of jedi
It's so nice to hear the KotOR music in this video. I hope the remake doesn't butcher that story.
...Thanks for recapping KotOR...
We REALLY needed that.
No one :
Revan : *change team*
@90az11
apparently it was a gift from revan when malak first tried to dethrone him
I like how they inserted details into a already established canon event like this.Good job bioware guys
Omg, that's Lance Henrikson?!?! God damn, that just made me love these videos more :D
Gnost-Dural is a badass.
1:30 Hah, "Crushing" nice.
HOW DID THEY MAKE SUCH EPIC AND CHILLING VIDEOS LIKE THIS, YET FAIL TO MAKE ENGAGING STORIES IN THE ACTUAL GAME?
What are you talking about? I personally love the stories inside the game itself: particularly the Imperial Agent one.
@@MalevolentSpirit234 I played mostly jedi knight and it was alright ig. I liked KOTFE/KOTET. MMOs are not for me
@MKER2 reven was no puppet he did it for his own gain as all sith do and he went after the starforge for his own soon after. and as for the hand blocking a lightsaber its just like blocking blaster fire but it takes more focus.
@RevanX77
Where can I find it?
btw is it for KOTOR1 cause my KOTOR2 doesn't work as it is supposed to do.
holy shit im glad i have played kotor 1 and 2 so many times... this was an AMAZING update bioware thank you guys so much
@ILGAR93
Is that game a mod?
@Gthang213 I have faith. KotOR 3 was in production before they cut it off though.
"Basheela Shaan"
*****
Yep. In case you haven't heard the narrator, he's saying "basheela" instead of "basila"
Mispronunciation NeoLedah
No shit
NeoLedah Well then who cares?
We do, me for replying, you for stating the obvious
Never seen such an epic game, before and after KotoR
@vreeland17, I agree. Revan know what he was doing. He know when he was taking over the galaxy, when he was destroying the star forge, and most of all, when he dead trying to save the galaxy from the Emperor.
REVAN IS CANON NOW!!
@Exar kun Castillo lol if Dave and Jon are involved no they won’t I think Disney has learned there lesion after the sequels all they need to do is make Dave the head of Star Wars then we’re good
@@luckyraygun1607 No. Nothing can save Star Wars. No matter. Star Wars died the day TFA arrived at cinemas.
Revan is probably my favorite Sith Lord.
I'd like a game where you play revan in his path to the dark side, how it happend and all.
I like how this video (and TOR as a whole) disrespects the contributions made to the story by KotOR II, but are still willing to use the destroyed Jedi Enclave song in this video.
@ultimatekotorfan Correction: Revan and Malek found the Star Map on Dantooine AFTER the Mandalorian Wars.
@Digga1221 There have actually been force-sensitive humans that lived for over 300 years, but yes, I sincerely doubt we will see either of them in the game.
@HillyOTM
In all fairness, you can't really blame them for ruining the ending (even though there are other ways the game could end...) because you have had a very long time to play through the game... about seven years...
i wished it came out already
I want to play it really badly
@lilcompton310
this pretty much is kotor 3, im dissapointed though. i was hoping to team up with the exile and revan in this one but its too far ahead in the future.
The Whole "Secret Sith Empire" Bull is kinda dumb. The original story of the Star Forge corrupting Revan and Malak was much better.
Why?
Nihilus might not care about Vitiate at first, but he might eventually since they had same desire - devour the galaxy (eventually).
@theboxnet
No it isn't.in KOTOR you play Revan AFTER he has been caught by the Jedi Council and had his memory removed.
Is this the voice of the guy who did the Homeworld narration
Revan was not redeemed, he was brainwashed by Jedi heretics, for redemption is only achieved of one's true and full will
Glory to the Sith!
@mikesgotniceice, That moment spoiled my imagination of him. I had my own idea of what he looked like, and it was NOT that. But they DID create Revan and have a right to choose his face.
Im currently reading the TOR: Revan novel so, i think i needed this info. :) , also im very interested in Darth Malak, don't know if there's any more information about him
oh man the song of 2:55 is just epic!
Who was the emperor at the time?
@ewok40k I agree. I hope he returns in The Old Republic. In the trailer for it the sith there is one that really looks like Revan. You never know
I hope gnost dural makes an appearance in the game.
@oldfashionedguy91
continue....
Once they found the star forge Revan decided to take his ambitions for their own Empire and began to leave republic bases and weapons in tact so they will be ready for the Sith to return then he could have his own empire. But then Malek became ambitions too fast and turned on Revan. So it doesn't break from the original story line they are just adding a new layer to what we already know about Revan and Malek
ya he might or him in a ghost form like the 1s in kotor 1 in the sith tombs.or just mentioned in the game
@TheNobleScarecrow No you are right that was a misquote. The Rakata Empire was 25,000 years before the time of TOR
at 3:29 that backround music was in spiderman lol and i wish bioware made another KOTOR for the xbox
Does anyone know the name of the music at the end?
Revan disappearing into outer space is just a convenient way to leave sequel option open...
My name is Revan and I approve,
This was a bit disappointing.
@TinyHeadHouse yep :D love it he voices this jedi master in TOR..the one doing all this research forget his name.
@MrUnclepeanuts THE EXPLINATION IS THAT EVEN THEY WERE TURNED TO SITH OR THEY HAVE DIED. I THINK SO.
