Shrewsbury Rd, a top-six most expensive street in the world, so a world class road for your world class runs, @oldmanrunner! Greetings from Sydney Australia, missing my runs around and from the southside.
Yes...I won't be living on Shrewsbury Road anytime soon!...You've brought back memories...my final year project in Architecture School was a new Australian Chancellery Complex on Shrewsbury Road...I can still remember landing in Sydney and seeing the Bridge and Opera House picked out in sunlight through the clouds at Dawn...I quite fancy a run around Bennelong Point...Back in the 80's I hitchhiked from Townsville to Melbourne via Canberra and Sydney in two weeks...
@@OldManRunner that's an amazing memory, @oldmanrunner! Some of us 50ish blokes and others of all ages and genders run in Kirribilli Runners over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, on the side of the expressway above Sydney Cove, and down around the Sydney Opera House, then back to the pub and then to the pizzeria. 💗🏃🍺🍕😉👍
@@OldManRunner yeah with your shoe shoe haul, I'm surprised you have any liquid assets, haha!😉👍 I'm very impressed with your content to date (and aim to start similar video reviews AND scenery on my channel - my two vids uploaded are just tests, with minimal edits and production values)😉
Lockdown and no kids...that's the way to finance a shoe collection! Best of luck with the channel...I enjoy it, though it takes nearly all of my free time...but that is what it's for...
Hello Gấu. They are comfortable but springy rather than soft. I bought them for racing but when I had a sore achilles these were the first shoes I could tolerate running in. They can take going slow or walking, but really shine when you are running fast. They don't have a lot of grip and the sole wears down faster than on most of my shoes. For these reasons the Hoka One One Clifton 7 may be a better choice as it is very cushy and has more grip. I will be reviewing it in detail in a few weeks. It's also a little cheaper and only a few grammes heavier.
Do you take requests, because you could run to Cabinteely, do a virtual parkrun (my ex home parkrun) and through the radar speed trap on Newtownpark Ave, through Blackrock and across Dun Laoghaire and on to the Forty Foot and back. Swim and clothing optional of course.
I do take requests! I will do a run in Dun Laoghaire on the Pier...I have made some other videos on another channel... jj21k...It's all about James Joyce so not everyone's bag...and I am trying to get better at this so I can make more videos there...I made a very short video in June for a conference and ran between Sandycove and Glasnevin...through Blackrock Park and Sandymount Strand...I've run the entire bay...love it...but a childhood in Jamaica has ruined the Irish Sea for me!
@@OldManRunner look up some of the Cabinteely crowd! I was wondering whether you were based in Ringsend or elsewhere near where you're running. Or near to Guinness on the inner Northside? Are you a Mrs Brown Boy? 😉
Spot on...In Ringsend...so I run down to the South Wall a lot...I sometimes get a train to Bray and run back...but not in over a year as we all tried to keep away from each other...I was born in Raheny...but we lived all over...so have a good knowledge of both sides of the river...(I can't watch Mrs. Brown...give me Fr. Ted any day....) I made a video in the Memorial Gardens in Islandbridge that I am editing...will try and run Dun Laoghaire Pier whenever I get the next appropriate shoe...!
@@OldManRunner we had Shadowlands, the follow-up tv show to Love/Hate, on tv here recently, so loved seeing his runs up to the top of the sandhill. With the Joyce stuff, I'd love to see some footage around the Forty Foot and all of the coastline. All epic - language and long runs!
The Joyce videos will take a bit of time...but should be able to work through them... I have run the entire bay from Bray to Howth...though not in one go...and not filming as I went...want to film the Great South Wall in a storm...but that's a tad tricky...
It has Ambassade de France inscribed in the stone gate pillar, but I think its the Ambassador's Residence...I plan to take these red white and blue shoes past the USA Ambassador's Residence 6 times in October...but that's for a later video...all to be revealed
Jodhi. The Carbon X and the Carbon X-SPE have the same base. The Carbon X has a different constructed upper to the X-SPE and is a little, and I mean little, more difficult to put on, it takes a small bit of time and you may need to use the heel tab. It is a superb shoe and some are still available on discount..I would go for it. If you have a little more money the Carbon X-SPE is a beautiful shoe with a very nice bootie construction that wraps the foot. I ran a second marathon in mine last weekend. I have not enjoyed the Carbon X2 very much. I've only run 45k in them so far and I have not enjoyed it as much. Hoka moved the position of the carbon plate in the sole and maybe it is this that I don't like as much, I will do more testing in it. If you can get the Carbon X on discount buy it (not the Carbon X2)...and if you can't and can stretch to the Carbon X-SPE I would buy that rather than the Carbon X2...hope this helps
@@OldManRunner wow thank you for your response. I'm looking forward to buy my first carbon plate shoes. With Rocket X and new Carbon X2 in the market really confused to choose which one is for me. And yeah, I saw discounted Carbon X and Carbon X SPE on marketplace. I guess I will just choose SPE for just US$ 12 more than Carbon X. Your review really helpful 👍
Like and subscribe and click the notification bell.... a great job done destroying that shoe... it's fun sawing things in half, you'd think there would be a RUclips channel for that...

How’s the cushion? Is this soft? Is this comfortable? If I dont run so fast, just daily training and walking.

Well in another 450k or so you can have a go at the SPE version! I think you have your RUclips channel idea there...
