      Because he had a major setback. It's such an odd and rare injury he's dealing with that it's been a discovery process for over six months now. He could be dealing with this for the rest of his career too.

      I have 0 faith in Demko.. within 2 months he will be injured again, I'd work on trading him and shop around.

      @@gocanuckurself1 absolutely, not a huge follower of his, but always hearing about him injured. Sucks especially since he’s quite a good goaltender when on his game.

      He came back from the blood clots when everyone would’ve on his side if he retired. You hate to see it but he is done physically. He can still play but his body is not in a good place. Honestly he needs to retire so the Canes can move on.

    "When he's healthy" has been the curse for Freddie Andersen. One of the local sportscasters said that he'll be out "8-12 weeks plus two more weeks of 'Freddie tax' since he never returns until he feels at least 100%."

    In fantasy, if you lost Anderson, try to snatch up Dustin Wolf from Calgary. He's been sneaky good. Big test tonight to determine if he's auto start from now on.

    That Whitecloud hit wasn't great. I mean he absolutely elevated into it, even though it wasn't a jump. But hearing the Leafs announcers trying to draw comparisons between it and the Reaves hit, and Leafs fans acting like they'd been done some great injustice was infuriating. Like the two aren't even in the same plane of existence. There's no comparison. Reaves' hit was much, MUCH worse.

      I like that Berube simply said it.was ruled a clean hit and nothing more to say about it. He's seeing the bigger picture of we still won the game with a shutout to boot, moving on to the next game

      It was a clean hit. Tucked his arm in, didn’t jump (momentum propelled him upward) and hit through the body. Even LeafsNet agreed it was a “good, clean, hockey hit”

    Andersen reminds me of my Avs’ Pavel Francouz. He was great when he was healthy, but sadly he couldn’t stay healthy, and injuries ended up ending his career. 😞

    If you’re the Canucks GM do you see if anyone would trade for Demko? I understand that his value is obviously the lowest it’s been but is it worth it to risk the ifs? If he comes back, if he’s still as good. Also doesn’t his contract end soon?

    I think the canes might go after a 3rd goalie, bc right now it's Perets behind Spencer Martin and he's not nhl caliber at all at the moment. So bring somebody in now or you're an injury away from having to make a panic move.

    As a Canes fan....I'm glad. He single handed lost the playoffs for us last season. Give the crease to Kochetkov and don't look back. Maybe this is the last time Anderson gets hurt as a Hurricane. I hope he never see the Canes crease again.

    1:32 they're calling that an illegal hit all the time. He left his feet. The rule (unwritten) has been, if they leave their feet, even after the hit, even after they stepped off the ice, if they still leave their feet, illegal. LOL
    2:06 It's been proven time and time again that you just have to make the playoffs to win the Cup. You don't have to be the best team in the league when the playoffs START. So as long as Demko comes back during a time that the Canucks are still in the playoff picture, whatever.

      I think if there was some "program" or training that could take place to extensively show the AI what to call and what not to call, I think it could work. It'd probably lead to a lot more penalties but it'd also be something interesting.
