    After receiving some feedback I went back to do some very specific testing.
    I mentioned that, as a healer, you might want to not be in a subgroup in a large open world squad so that your regen could hit more people, and that it would prioritize low health targets. I was mistaken on that!
    After doing controlled testing, the regen will always hit your party of 5, or, if you are not in a party, or your party is not in range, it will hit the nearest 5. The regen boon is not as smart as direct heals, which will always hit targets that need healing first that are in range.
    One NEW thing that I learned during this test, is that if you use an ability that does direct healing AND Boons (tested with astral glyph of the stars, and fern hounds "Regenerate" (the F2 skill where it howls) those skills can hit 10 targets in a weird way. It will do the boons they say they do on 5 NEAREST people, then do the heal component on up to 5 people in range that need the heal. It will not necessarily do the heal and boons on the same people. So the heal has a limit of 5 targets, and then the boons have a limit of 5 targets and there may be some overlap.
    This is a VERY niche situation, but I found it interesting enough to share.
    Sorry for any confusion!

      This is really good to know as a Druid. That means I can't give my spirits regen but if I overheal they will get that eventually unless there's some kind of pulsing damage.

    • @MuklukYoutube
      @MuklukYoutube  2 года назад

      @@kaltaron1284 Correct on the healing, it can be difficult to keep them alive on boneskinner if everyone is dying for example as no healing spills over to them. You can give them regen with staff 5 if you stack them up first, as staff 5 doesn't appear to have a target cap.

    • @kaltaron1284
      @kaltaron1284 2 года назад

      @@MuklukRUclips Thanks for the tip. As the description reads "Allies that pass through the wall gain boons." I wouldn't have guessed that you can use it to top off the spirits. I normally prefer to camp Axe + Horn but this is a good reason to whip out the staff. Might as well blast it afterwards for even more regen. Only problem is that you might mess up the cooldown reduction trait (wiki is still healing) which I mostly want on the first Avatar skill.

    Does anyone remember the times when combo finishers were import sources of boons and having 25 might was actually an important deal?
    On Stabililty: While it allows you to ignore many boss mechanics, there are also some that ignore Stability.
    Swiftness (and Super Speed) is esp. useful when you have to escort an NPC like Glenna or Desmina.
    A a boss example for corrpting boons would be Slothasor via the Slublings. A boss who steals boons would be one of Saul's Vices (first one) or one of the Largos Twins.

      "Target > Party/subgroup > Squad > other Players > Minions > other Minions > NPC"
      Something like that?
      I more so hope the boon priority in non squad envairoment was the person with least amount duration, the least amount stacks or least amount healing 👍 That would enable you playing Healers and Boon supports in open world without feeling stuffed when your boons reach those closest to you and heals are taken by everyone between 1% and 99% and that person at 1% is not getting healer because all the people with 99% between us 😂
      Target getting priority in boons would mean you could choose to prioritize the specific NPS or Player that is not on your sub group for Boons and Healing and I think the Healing should also prioritize the Target as first target 👍 would also make the Specter little by little better 😄 but man how I'm sad that Heal Specter is not a thing yet.

    For condi build, the gear you use is Ritualist. It give concentration, expertise, condi damage and vitality. It have minor stat in concentration, meaning it provide as much concentration as harrier but less than diviner.
    This is particularly annoying as a condi alacrity renegade. We need 80% concentration for full alacrity uptime, which is something you can only achieve with a 6 runes providing +25% boon duration (Rune of Leadership is the best one) AND an additional concentration source such as food+utility or the Sigil of Concentration.

    For me boons are a double-edged sword. Because many of these boons can be kept up 100% of the time, this becomes the new baseline. So groups will expect players to keep them up all the time. So why do I see this as a double-edged sword? Well, first of all it's boring (imo) to have to actively keep boons up 100% of the time. Also the GUI doesn't allow resizing or grouping of the boons that are on players. So that means that they remain small and the same boons aren't in the same place all the time. So that makes it even more tedious. Then there is the issue (imo) that it makes the dps output a LOT higher than groups who don't have this sorted. I think you said twice as much but I think it's much more. Just look at crit and the damage multiplier. That alone makes you do more than three times as much damage than if you don't. And with alacrity and quickness and might added into the mix...well that increases DPS even more. So even when a group does use those boons but only manages 50% coverage or doesn't have all those boons available in that group, they will do considerably less damage.
    GW2 said that they didn't want to use the tank/dps/heal trinity. But healers are back in (and sometimes tank), but moreover there are more roles needed now. Might, Quickness, Alacrity, Fury all have to be provided by someone 100% of the time.
    My personal preference for boons or buffs would be that all of them would be limited so you can only use them some of the time, but others disagree, I get that. But there's nothing much tactical about having 100% crit 100% of the time for the whole group. It makes the upkeep and the result superfluous when you think about it. And I also don't care much for the huddling together for the sake of boons. It makes melee vs range a bit pointless. Anyways, that's just my opinion, but there it is.

      If you're in a pile of 50 people but only grouped with 5 of them, your boons will just stack on those 5 until capped out.
      If you are in a group with all 50 of them, or not in a group at all, your boons will hit the nearest people, except regen which in that one specific situation will hit injured first.
      I wish I had thought to include that in the video but I did not.

      (the build: Tempest/Water/Earth for that 40% protection. All souths. Elemental Bastion. Full Harriers. Dagger/Horn.)
      Used this build roughly 10 times in Dragon's End before giving up in depression because I can't heal anyone who needed healing :< I would have to run Arcane & Staff for revives
      ^ but Now days I play Full DPS Blood Magic Scourge because I get to deal 10k solo damage while reviving people who go downstate 👍 only valid open world solo support build I like because anyone who is downstate needs help. While yes Heal Tempest can revive also the Blood Magic just feels better with F4 pulling 5 people and you able to drop wells also while dealing way higher dps 🤤
      Regeneration in my knowledge uses literally same rules as any other boon like Protection -> 4 closest = Have you done experiments to confirm if Regeneration is following different rules? Simple, get 10 people in line in range. Have 4 farthest players get hurt to 5% hp. Use Scrapper Healing Kit 5 Infusion Bomb and tell me who got that Regeneration? 1) The 4 people who are at 5% 2) the 4 closest to the infusion bomb 3) swiftness and Vigor went to the 4 closest and Regeneration went to the 4 farthest 😱 It is rare to see ability that only gives Regeneration 😓 Healing Kit 2 Bandages? If they hit the people who have lost hp then it is not Regeneration prioritizing but the pure healing prioritizing and Regen is just side product 😓 on top of that I think Healing Turret F1 might only give regen and work like healing skill? but to find that one specific skill from all the other skills 😱
      Would make sense that healing ignores anyone who is 100% hp but good luck finding anyone in Dragon's End from the 50 peoples who is at 100% hp while you can see more than 5 people at less than 10% hp and always few in downstate.
      The simplest fix how to make open world solo support gameplay more fun would be to make boon priority and healing priority to the lowest hp/duration/stack with same rules that you always priorities Sungroup > Squad > other players > NPC that would open up playing pure healing builds in open world and being able to heal anyone with 5% hp without having to stand on top of them 😱
      The down side of making boons and healing prioritize those with lowest hp, boon duration or boon stacks is that 1 player could upkeep permanent Alacrity on 10 people with certain builds played well. Currently untamed can be played in level that you give 100% Alacrity uptime with 0% boon duration and adding 100% boon duration would make it possible to upkeep Alacrity on 10 targets if the Alacrity was given to the player with lowest duration 😅 Currently it would be 5 closest but you are always closest so 4 closest 😏 5 people would be left out and if you swap the players around 1 player is now farthest from the 5 players and gets 0 alac because you give alac to yourself ........

      @@MuklukRUclips You could pick up on that in a seperate video on healing priority. The video was already unbelievably long for GTTP. ;-)
