You have no idea how much that's annoyed me. I've died uncountable time during raids trying to get my target back and losing focus on mechanics. I've given up trying a lot of content because of that. Especially boss encounters with lots of adds. I've even tried using personal target in every boss and mash the retarget key ad infinitum, but that ruins my rotation. If I find your game tag.Number I will send you gold for this. Thank you.
Sometimes useful : When encumbered. You can drag the item from the window with something in your inventory. This can be useful if the item you want to pickup is a trophy / junk item and youre at a merchant. You can temporarily swap the item, hit sell junk, then pick your old item back. (i appreciate this is niche).
Wow, a few of these I didn’t know about. Definitely going to comb through my settings. Here is a neat trick: if you are on a skyscale and cling to a wall, turn on autorun and you can cling hands free. Perfect if you need to grab a snack or drink.
The inventory searching ones are great! In retrospect they should have been obvious, but I never thought to salvage like that or drag and then "unsearch" that's so cool :D
A trick for deleting those items, where they require you, to type out the name: Shift click the item, so it appears in your chat window. Select the name with ctrl + a or with your mouse and copy it with ctrl + c. Then try to delete the item, press ctrl + v to paste the name of the item and remove the square brackets. No more typing out the name.
There is a selectable option now, that allows to instantly use research kits on crafted items, so just tick that box when you want them to be turned into notes. You just need to have the kits in your inventory
The evil setting did its job on me. 8 and a half year of playing and it was turned on the whole time !! I discovered a lot with this video, thanks Lara !
You can set personal target, and then fetch the target later. If you have a main target, but need to temporary do something else, just fetch your personal target when you're done. Only you will see your personal target (it's orange instead of red, and looks slightly different). You can set these in keybindings, Idk if they're set to something by default. Love, Floralei
One fun easter egg in Guild Wars 2 is that if you dance in front of the statue of Abaddon in Path of Fire you will be immediately shot into a down state or killed, I believe you also get a secret achievement for this. You can also dance in front of the Abaddon statue in the Dermond Priory and also get an achievement and be smitted by Abaddon.
I genuinely only knew maybe half of these? Great work! A fun one about gliding is you don't need to double press space to open glider! You can just hold space and it will deploy itself. Helped me a lot with Jumping Puzzles :D
Hey Lara, I have 2 thing people may not know related to mounts. Although I don't know how uncommon they are, I thought I would share them because I havn't seen them come up yet. 1. Jackal and Bond of Faith (BoF). If you use BoF mid Jackal teleport then you keep the speed of the teleport and go flying off your Jackal in the direction you teleported. At least for a short while. 2. Springer Charge Dismount. Simple one really, you can dismount a springer well your charging it's jump, that causes you to go airborn without your springer mount. Leaving you free to open your glider, or mount a flying mount.
There have been some nice QOL things like the dragging of the item amounts, which I think I knew at one point but then promptly forgot about again :D Great video
Definitely 3:20, best tip ever. I though I was going crazy or my game didn't work properly. Sometimes I even died on raids due this setting, specially on Sabetha. Thank you so much for this tip, definitely a game changer!
Not me going to the scribe station in the guild hall everytime to get my bank, when I could have had it to the guild bank 🤯 after 8 years of playing, I think I didn't almost half of the features you mentionned, so big thank you!
A resource for Research Notes is Ascended gear you get randomly. If you stat-change them in the MF they'll count as crafted. Instead of giving a pitiful amount of stuff when Salvaged they give around 300-500 Research notes when you use a Research Kit on them.
The one about clicking the event health bar for the boss in Twilight Oasis is a great tip! I wonder if it works for Saul d'Alessio's clones in Hall of Chains too?
omg that right click to attack/interact- I had no idea!! As soon as I got to that part, I paused the video, logged in, and turned that evil setting off. THANK YOU
Also this might help. I figured that if you press the tab key while you don't have any target, it will automatically target that strongest enemy around you. Really helpful if you want to target the boss right away.
Just discovered this one ! In the wardrobe, if you click on an appearance, it is shown with your current dyes. If you click it AGAIN, it's shown with all dyes removed !!! Pretty nice to know when you have very dark dyes equipped, so you don't have to go back and forth between your wardrobe and your dyes...
The last one (Guild Bank to Bank) made my jaw drop lol. Until now (9 years and counting) i have been running back and forth to a Guild Bank then Bank just to transfer stuff. The targetting thing (to not loose your target) also caught me off guard. Thanks Laranity! : )
You can put undiscovered salvage in the shared slot so the salvage kit will skip things in shared slots You can type /wiki [ping item] to open browser wiki tab about that item You can disable mount ability from be used on jump input (especially useful for beelte racing enjoyers) You can instantly dismount few frames after springer jump to get shot high in air and quickly mount to ex. Griffon You can toggle chat to be always visible in a box or transparent-popping in when new messegaes are sent You can swap weapons during channeling interaction while opening chests or completing hearts - to skip the channeling and move on to the next
Wooooah, knew all of them, until you got me with that last one! Never realized you could access your bank from Guild Bank, 10 years of playing too hahahah
When moving stuff in inventory, you can drag and drop it on the bag icon in the left of the panel. Example, I want to put some guild banners into my shared slot. Just drag it to the shared slot icon. This only works if there is a slot open in the desired bag. In your example, you could have dragged from your search result and drop it into the share bag icon.
There were a lot of things that I didn't know about this time (especially search and guild bank related), but also some things that I did know, but I didn't know that others didn't know (language toggle, drag to change amount). Weird sentence, but true. Looking forward to a part 3, as I am pretty sure there are even more things hidden in plain sight. Just recently I told some other 10-year-veteran about the possibility to move the shared inventory slots bag to the bottom instead of having it on the top of your inventory, but I think that was in your last video already. Another thing I just recently started to use are the filters for the trading post that are hidden behind the cog wheel, especially the attribute ones: When trying to fined the named items for certain stat combinations and you can't remember the name, you just filter by the stat combination. You don't need the numbers, as just having the stat name means it must be present. A lot easier to limit the item list this way. Maybe we also need a version of this video for new players covering the stuff most veterans already know but new players need to know?
at around 3:50 you brought up th 'right click to attack' issue. I have known this pain for 12+ years. You have earnt my subscription in that one point... Not even counting ALL the other videos, content, tips etc, you provide :)
There’s another use of the “Drag to buy in bulk” feature that I expected you to mention. You can do the same thing when you’re crafting something at a crafting station to adjust the output quantity without typing.
This can be used for quite a lot of things actually. Like you can also use it in the TP to change the quantity. Almost always when you have a field where you can type a number you can drag to change it
@@Moosetapheles Okay, after a quick test I realized I swapped two things in my mind. But there is still a trick in the TP - you can't drag it, but you can use your mouse wheel to change it up and down.
Oh wow, I didn't know the trick for selling directly through. Thanks again for a second episode, really great!! Others I already knew them. You succeeded your challenge 👏
7:00 the dragging for number inputs works for other UIs too, like the crafting UI (strangely enough it doesn't work for the price input in the TP when selling things)
But you can use the mouse wheel for the prices in the TP. That saved me a lot of time for my "put it 1 copper below the lowest/highest bidder" strategy :D
Another great one to go along with AoE skills; If you double-click or double-key-tap the AoE skills, it will instantly, automatically cast it on yourself. Really useful for when you need to drop an aoe centered on you instantly without moving your mouse around to either your screen or the minimap.
You know you play too much when you already know them all :P Still I great video! Many of these can be game changing if you did not know about them before. Some other easy ones that I often see people miss are these: When a Jumping puzzle or a mini dungeon is the daily you can open the daily page for the puzzle/dungeon and then click on the "Suggested Locations:". That will open the map and ping the nearest waypoint or POI. The search bar in the inventory don't only search for the name of the items it also searches for words in the description. So you can type "consumable" or "double-click" to see consumable bags that you can open. It is an old trick from the dark days before salvage all, rune salvaging and the Unidentified gear. You had to type "Rare", "Masterwork" etc to quickly salvage the right rarity. 7:00 You can also use this trick in the TP by using the scroll wheel to quickly and accurately buy larger number of items. One "click" up or down on the wheel is one item. This also works for the price of the items you you can quickly change the price without typing or using the small arrows. Not so useful but easy to miss. The White Mantle Portal Device is a 2 way teleporter. From the tooltips with the "Entry" and "Exit" portal it sounds like it is one way only. But nope. Teleport away :D
RUclips just suggested this video, finding out why i randomly retarget enemies/friends while right clicking camera after nearly 12 years of playing.. so busted!!!! Thanks for the info Lara!
The language toggle is actually so cool!!! As a German player I sometimes struggle with using with talking to other players about specific things in the game and I have trouble using the wiki as the German wiki is missing a lot of information
1. When charging a jump with a springer, if you press the dismount key X before the stamina bar runs out (at around 20% left) you will dismount the springer in air and then you can activate your glider to land more easily where you want. 2. If you press space + v (dodge) at the same time, you will perform a dodge jump/barel roll in air, which will give your jump a bit of an extra distance. 3. You can double jump of walls or other objects if you time the next jump and the distance from object right, but its really hard to do, having 25% passive movement increase skill helps. 4. You can shift right click on map to draw for your teammates. 5. When doing time trials with a beetle on the world map, if you miss a checkpoint you can quickly reset to starting position by pressing X in top right then clicking reset, you can start again by simply rolling your beetle close to the time trial npc and clicking play. P.S. thanks to Lara Vivifica for teaching me the parkour stuff xD
Thank you for these tips! I kept losing my targets during combat, and figured out it was caused by right click (if you scroll far enough after right clicking, it's fine, but if you do a short drag, you deselect your target), but I could never figure out how to 'fix' it. Can't believe it was just a setting in the options menu >.< I must have scrolled past it hundreds of times over the past year...
Thank you! Gonna check my right-click settings for interaction... That would explain a lot :D I didn't know several other features as well, but this one would be by far the most useful in WvW fighting for me :D
Fun fact about the Bank access at the end, because ANY crafting station gives you bank access, that means the Scribe station too, so belong to ANY Guild w/a Hall and you have instant access to your bank from ANYWHERE Any time you want. The research note was a good tip, I was clicking over and over in patterns and crap to not get bored, clicking in one spot over and over will be easier. I also don't use Normal targeting, I hate the green circles, I use instant cause it's... instant, lol, so I *think* I have that option you mentioned ticked, but now I'm gonna have to go check cause chances are I've been missing at long range w/out realizing maybe. womp womp wommmmp. This is a cool series, I'm all about secrets on my channel too, but not this kind, this is more useful than map breaking or JP workarounds. 😅
The guild hall is forgotten about so often, even though there is useful stuff in it. You can access a vendor for gathering tools and (formerly) repair armor.
One thing I noticed is that you can now choose to use a research kit while crafting. I don't know when this was added, but it means that the items in question never it your inventory.
I have watched also the first video and learned so much from it. Very good good stuff and eye openings for me. We in Mortalisgame always love to watch how content creators find different ways to give good value to old or new players even in games what are out long time now.
Oh wow. I thought there'd be only one or two I didn't know of but it seems I didn't know almost half of these. Way more than the first video. Also way more useful features aswell.
You should do some non-combat tips and trick for each class! Like how you can use daredevils 5 staff skill to trivialize jumping puzzles, or use the prototype position reminder in conjunction with a mesmer portal to go back and fourth with portals to help
Will have to check this one again to see if it still works, but before when I upgraded my gear to a higher or different stats but wanted to keep the same look and colours I had, I would transmute the new gear to the type I had, then switch from old then back to new gear to lock the colours onto the new gear.
Another excellent Lara Learns video 🥳🥳🥳 I knew just over half of these 🥰🥰🥰 One I passed onto MrsMezzy last night was, In the Inv options there is a option to highlight the rarity of items in your inventory with a coloured border. I couldn’t understand why when I was asking her to check if she had a green (uncommon) dye she didn’t know what I meant , as the rarity border was not switched on for her lol.
2 tips regarding personal waypoint: - Remember how there are jumping puzzles in the game where the Position Rewinder is useless such as Searing Ascent in Draconis Mons? This is where personal waypoint comes into play. You can get away with things like spending more Oakheart's Essence charges than you should by putting down a PW to "save your progress" in the JP, go get another Oakheart's Essence and port to that PW to "resume" your progress. - The cooldown of the Personal Waypoint skill IS AFFECTED BY ALACRITY. And 1 tip regarding the healthbar trick: - Aside from Amala, there is another boss that you can use the "click healthbar" trick against: Vishen Steelshot in Dirzzlewood Coast. He also spawns fake clones of himself. I'm still waiting for more use cases for Personal Waypoint as the community exploit it more. Maybe you should explore this in the next entry of this video series.
I knew about half of those ^^ Last video were more obvious and well known ones compared to this one. but especially as someone that started gaming in another language the swapping language one is something I had to figure out to being able to communicate with my guild in the beginning. Only took me half a year to completely swap to English :'D The one about the guild vault is something I only learned some months ago. Through this little trick you can also access your bank through the Vault Transport (Dolyak) that you can use from the guild storage (same line as banquets and worldboss spawners).
Since the last video I've been using that toggle enemies trick :D Especially against Amala! I always think about your video if I do this :D And yes: you definetly succeded again with your challange. :D Nice video! 🥰
Gonna try this tip about randomly loosing targets. Fingers crossed my right click is enabled so it's the issue. This has been driving me crazy lately in fractals. Thanks a lot :]
When you get a new backpack skin that comes with straps - it takes forever to type in the name when you want to delete both of these. It makes much more sense to quickly equip the backpiece straps - then consume the skin, then only have to delete one item
You can also ping the item in chat to copi it (ctrl+c) and then paste it (ctrl+v) on the delete window. You have to erase the "[ ]", but is WAAAAAYYY easier and faster. Hope that helps someone XP
@@mariolanda4871 Omg, that makes sense. xD I usually collect these kind of items in some corner of the bank and place them on keyfarm char to delete them. 😂
I've been playing since the beginning and just found an interesting feature. If you go to any merchant, on the bottom right of the merchant screen will be a number followed by up/down arrows, then the "buy" button. Clicking on an item you wish to purchase, then click on the the above mentioned bottom-right number which will highlight the number so you can insert a different number. However, with the number still highlighted, left-click and hold on the number, then move the mouse upwards and downwards. The number will increase(move mouse up) or decrease (move mouse down). Also by doing this, the cost of the item you had clicked on will show you how much it will cost you depending on the number on the bottom.
I find those video very useful, I already started to use those tips. Thanks a lot ! But since I speak french I don't understand what you say at 5:05 which is unfortunate since I always lose time to self-center to heal myself when in fight...
Alright, I give it, the right click annoyance for losing my target was the first thing new to me in these vids, Lara, I've been beaten 😞
I HAVE SUCCEEDED
Forgetting order, but it was either that, or the locked ground targets that was the first one I knew
Reddit beat ya to it by a week for this one 😬
Turning off right click is the QoL feature I needed, thanks ;)
You have no idea how much that's annoyed me. I've died uncountable time during raids trying to get my target back and losing focus on mechanics. I've given up trying a lot of content because of that. Especially boss encounters with lots of adds. I've even tried using personal target in every boss and mash the retarget key ad infinitum, but that ruins my rotation. 5:35 Since (Awakened) Amala also guards the Great Hall in Domain of Istan, this trick also works against her outside of Fractals.

The inventory searching ones are great! In retrospect they should have been obvious, but I never thought to salvage like that or drag and then "unsearch" that's so cool :D

masterpiece!
This is a really nice tip!
Also if you ctrl + x it you also remove if from the chat box and not accidentially send it to map chat later.
3:04 You can also do this while crafting the items. You can press craft on lets say 250 items and then just salvage away as fast as you can :)

A resource for Research Notes is Ascended gear you get randomly. If you stat-change them in the MF they'll count as crafted. Instead of giving a pitiful amount of stuff when Salvaged they give around 300-500 Research notes when you use a Research Kit on them.
To build on the guild bank one, you can also spawn a guild dolyak to access your personal bank, which acts like a black lion bank spawner
What thing lets you spawn a "guild dolyak"?

3:07 this is the smartest thing I have learned from GW2 UI, now you are my information muse
1 and 3 intrigue me very much. With 2, I prefer the term "flip" :P
omg the research notes one blew my mind: THANKS!!
That would explain a lot :D
I didn't know several other features as well, but this one would be by far the most useful in WvW fighting for me :D
These tips are awesome! Thank you!!
Omg tytytytyty for that tip on losing your target I’ve had the same issue since I came back about a year ago can’t thank you enough❤❤❤
I had no idea about the event healthbar trick, thanks for the video!
7:05 the scroll wheel also works for this when you mouse over the number! and both work on the trading post too
edit:typo
Omg, I did not know most of these. Wow, you are just great!! Thanks!
I've been on GW2 since open beta and learned 3 new things this time, thank you!
Awesome tips! Love to see more videos from you!
Oh wow. I thought there'd be only one or two I didn't know of but it seems I didn't know almost half of these. Way more than the first video. Also way more useful features aswell.
You should do some non-combat tips and trick for each class! Like how you can use daredevils 5 staff skill to trivialize jumping puzzles, or use the prototype position reminder in conjunction with a mesmer portal to go back and fourth with portals to help
i did not know the majority of these, thank you, Lara! i love you
I've loved teaching people to click on the enemy health bar in the right of the screen during TA fractal, people have been so thankful haha
Will have to check this one again to see if it still works, but before when I upgraded my gear to a higher or different stats but wanted to keep the same look and colours I had, I would transmute the new gear to the type I had, then switch from old then back to new gear to lock the colours onto the new gear.
Success. Well done ! Really cool part 2 :) thanks 👍
Both videos were great, I learned a thing or two! Thanks :)
Lovely video and even tho ive been playing for over 6000 hours still manage to find new stuff to learn from these thanks!
Another excellent Lara Learns video 🥳🥳🥳
I knew just over half of these 🥰🥰🥰
One I passed onto MrsMezzy last night was, In the Inv options there is a option to highlight the rarity of items in your inventory with a coloured border. I couldn’t understand why when I was asking her to check if she had a green (uncommon) dye she didn’t know what I meant , as the rarity border was not switched on for her lol.
2 tips regarding personal waypoint:
- Remember how there are jumping puzzles in the game where the Position Rewinder is useless such as Searing Ascent in Draconis Mons? This is where personal waypoint comes into play. You can get away with things like spending more Oakheart's Essence charges than you should by putting down a PW to "save your progress" in the JP, go get another Oakheart's Essence and port to that PW to "resume" your progress.
- The cooldown of the Personal Waypoint skill IS AFFECTED BY ALACRITY.
And 1 tip regarding the healthbar trick:
- Aside from Amala, there is another boss that you can use the "click healthbar" trick against: Vishen Steelshot in Dirzzlewood Coast. He also spawns fake clones of himself.
I'm still waiting for more use cases for Personal Waypoint as the community exploit it more. Maybe you should explore this in the next entry of this video series.
Challenge succeeded Lara, i learned something new from this video as well. Thank you
I'm brand new to the game, so everything in both videos was new and awesome for me. I really like your tip videos though! Very accessible
Wow. So many of these are really great!
I knew like 3 of the things you talked about. Thanks for the tips.
I had the right-click option on for 10 years too and only learned about its true evil nature some weeks ago - disabling it was a life-changer! ^^
OMG OMG Love you so much for all the things I never knew playing this game for 10 years :DDDD
This video got me to sub. Keep up the good work!
Both good tips!!
@@mariolanda4871 Omg, that makes sense. xD I usually collect these kind of items in some corner of the bank and place them on keyfarm char to delete them. 😂
Lara, this was very useful. I thought 'you can not surprise me'. And you did. Very good and useful video :)
Thank you Lara!
Watching Laranity's Twitch is a learning experience! Thanks to the streams I already knew all of them :D
I didn't know like half of them! Kudos!!
omg that research note tip will be a lifesaver :D
Open world map -> hold shift and then scroll to move between the different surface levels
Only learned this one recently through word of mouth
I didn't know you could drag an item while searching your inventory! This is something I need - thanks!
I find those video very useful, I already started to use those tips. Thanks a lot !
But since I speak french I don't understand what you say at 5:05 which is unfortunate since I always lose time to self-center to heal myself when in fight...
