Out of curiosity, how would you compare Caustic to Rytmik (specifically Ultimate since I still use that)? Idk, I guess I want to "upgrade" my music making capabilities but don't want to use something like FL or Ableton as I'm not a fan of using plugins. Needing more than what I'm given just to make something good both annoys and stresses me out. I'd probably would have been moved to Rytmik Studio a year ago if it were most optimized as I can't run it on either computer I use lol (I can just barely get it to run on my other computer, but only after setting the audio buffer to its highest).
Since you're using this and have made some pretty good music with it (I've mostly heard dubstep and hip-hop type beats), I'm curious on if it would be something I would probably use. If you've ever heard my music on Rytmik (I'm sure you have), I mostly make hip-hop, electronic (usually EDM and DnB), and rock just to give an idea on if I could make these kinds of songs on Caustic. I'm also gonna assume it has automation, something I wish Ultimate had.
TL;DR - I want to "upgrade" my music making capabilities and I guess am interested in giving Caustic a shot (well, another shot as I did try it once). I'd like to know the strengths and weaknesses of Caustic and if it would be a good move for me from Rytmik. Also knowing what genres Caustic is capable of making would be nice.
(I haven't talked about the video at all lol, but these are nice samples. I was listening to it while writing this)

In my opinion, Caustic is a lot better than Rytmik Ultimate/Studio. It's optimized so much better, you have more customization, more features, etc. It's definitely a good DAW if you're looking to upgrade from rytmik. I do agree with you that you that FL/Ableton can be confusing/stressful at times. And I think (for me at least), Caustic is that "perfect in between". Its pretty good with almost any genre of music you want to make. (even better if you have a lot of presets/samples) and It really doesn't hog CPU like AT ALL. Honestly I feel like one of the coolest things about caustic is the fact that it's free. It's really good for a free DAW and I feel like not enough people know about it. But... Rytmik is still the best DAW on the 3DS for sure :)

@@qtopp Okay. I'll give it another go and try and see how I feel about it. And yeah I can agree Rytmik is the best for 3DS. I'm honesetly surprised I've spent over 3 and a half years on it lol
