Just came across your channel and I have to say I am amazed you started with no experience. I got my CDL but scared to get started right now.
Glad I found your channel..we are owner operator as well (power only) and been looking into hauling Amazon loads since we don't own a trailer just yet. Thanks for the detailed info! Gonna definitely watch your channel. Keep up the good work brotha!
A lot of people will tell you not to run Amazon. But I can be honest. I will be doing a video of 4 weeks contracts only gross and net. So you can have bigger picture if it's worth it or not. Honestly I fine with the net and being home everyday. It's drop and hook freight. No more than 20k lbs. Average is under 10k lbs.
@Manny Actual wow! That doesn't sound bad at all. And yes I will be keeping an eye on your channel brother. Thanks for responding be safe out there!
Just finance a used one only asking for 3-4k down if it’s a dry van not too new not too old trailer
Every truck should have extra airlines...no excuse
Thank you Manny 👍👍
Thanks man, I looked all over not just youtube but the entire internet and couldn't find actual numbers of fuel cost for running Amazon short term contracts and how it compares with what the fuel surcharge Amazon Relay pays. Your video pretty much explains it all. Most youtubers talk nonsense almost their entire video; yours has real substance and information others may need. Thanks
I have some new videos with more numbers check it out it may help.
@@mannyactual How long did it take you to get access to Contracts? It says 3 loads from the loadboard and should have access to contracts. Thanks
@@alemsegedmissonne594 how ever long it takes to get rating of 90 and above
thanks for the information, sir. You said you don't idle your truck and have a generator connected to your AC. Can you share what type of generator it is and how did you get it all set up to enjoy the AC without a need for idling?
Check out latest video
$2.14 a mile with all those stops. I can get better rates than that with JB Hunt, and other brokers plus the DAT load board. One pick one drop. thanks for sharing this information. I thought Amazon would be worth it.
Youe reviewing older videos. How about you go check out the more recent videos
You can do a little better on $$ if you book individual blocks off the board vs whole contracts. Plus you have more control over which days and times you'll work. My opinion.
I tried in the the SA area. They come up randomly. If it was more consistent then I would have no problem you just have no idea the next day will look like. There also times where nothing comes up on the load board. Way to risky for my liking.
Owner/operator content😊
I always look at Google maps before I go to a location I never been to
hello i found your channel and im glad i did im from texas as well ne truck owner i would like to speak with you maybe we can collibrate i need a company to put my truck on with doing amazon which im very familiar with i want my own authority but need help with which diretion to go
I currently am not taking on drivers. The market is fluctuating and I don't want to be responsible for nobody not making the money they think. If you want to run Amazon , G Byrd trucking is well established company running Amazon and is taking on lease drivers. That company is growing within Amazon. I hope this helps.
How old does your authority have to be?
Do you actually need to have DOT active for more than 180 days? My DOT was originally active in August of 2021. But I was working with a company that provided their DOT so I deactivated my DOT since July of 2022. This month I’m activating my DOT again and wanted to get on board with Amazon Relay. I spoke to my insurance broker and he is setting me up to be compliant with Amazon’s requirements. But I can’t get through to talk to any representatives of Amazon to get a direct answer if the 180 days is applicable to everyone.
Those changes are recent. I'm unsure how that would play out for you since you already had it active in 2021.
Watch those logs for sure bro the safety audit will happen. They just hit me with the entry one last week. Im scrambling to get my logs in order not looking to good
Did they call you first or send an email?
@@mannyactual they will send an email to the email registered on the fmsca website. Also a call from your auditer tp turn in those docs
What is the rule for local so you dont need eld? 170 mile radius?
@@SuperBertd no eld just time sheets make sure you fill them out
Is there a mile restriction?
Do you think you could make it running Amazon loads running under your own authority with a $2000 a month truck note? Thanks for your videos
Depends it you have other expenses like car insurance, car payment, mortgage, etc. Personally if you have a mortgage and car payments and other expenses. Then $2000 note is going to put you in a whole even running the Amazon account. Drivers who are surviving right now are those with paid trucks if you pay close attention. I have a cash truck. I'm making it I have stable income with the Amazon contracts.
@@mannyactual my expenses are less then $700 a month all combined.
Thanks. I’ve never done the contracts because I didn’t like the idea of agreeing to do loads and have no idea how many miles or where it’s going
From what I have done max 13 hr block is 500 max miles round trip back home. 37hr block 800 miles max round trip back home. I see for week Amazon keeps it under 1600 miles.
13 hours is under 500 miles 37 is under 800
I use to do the 37hr contracts. They had me drive over a 1000 miles. In the end the pay only came to 1.65 per mile. Amazon is trash.
Not to mention they drop your score even if it’s a mistake on their end. They will find a way to blame you
@@brianhammer998 I didn't see those rates out of San Antonio. I totaled at 2.26 per mile and just one 37 hr block was about 700 miles. I don't plan on doing 37 hr blocks again it's what was available
Just out of curiosity here. Do you ever get stuck with trailer when doing 10hr reset or 34hr reset?
Depends on scheduled route
You did two 37 hour blocks in a week? So basically you netted 2300 dollars in that week right? Just wanted to make sure, your videos are really helpful thanks bro
Yes at end of video I go over total. To add 37 hr blocks that start on a Friday will go towards that weeks check. Anything after Friday for the 37 hr block won't count for that weeks check
@@mannyactual awesome thanks for the reply. I drive for an Amazon freight partner and got a lot of experience. I’m also in SA so if you got any questions message me or I can give you my number just lmk bro
@@ThePrankingHQ if you see the logo on Volvo truck give me a honk
I hate contracts because they always give u night blocks from the board at keast u can know the time u will start
I do contracts weekly
they the best, how much you doing a wekk
Ouch brother this Net still before insurance which aprox 550 to 600$ a week and ofcourse 15 to 25 cpm meintance ! You got after all 900$
I pay $1100-1200 month for insurance
@@mannyactual brother that’s for bobtail and cargo ? Can you provide me with agency details?
@@Modiaaa Carrier HQ. They give you everything you need to run Amazon, Uber freight, Convoy. All the trailer coverage you need when your bobtail
@@mannyactual they are in San Antonio?
@@Modiaaa I think that company is out of Illinois
