    Please keep sharing your health struggles, as you wish to, because many of us are going through similar things - we appreciate you being real and knowing we are not alone.

      Thank you, friend. I get so worried every time I say something. I never want people to think I'm whining or asking for sympathy. At the end of the day, it's significantly altered my life in the last 6 months, which also effects how I homeschool and run my house. Thank you so much for your support ❤

      I second this! I also struggle with health issues and it’s comforting to be reminded that we’re not in this alone. I will be praying for you.

      Yes, agree 100%, keep sharing!
      Mandy you don't sound like your making things up at all, I too battle autoimmune diseases and honestly I appreciate when people share about their struggles too❤

    Hi! Fellow homeschooling mama with autoimmune issues here. It is debilitating even though people can’t see it. I get that so much. You’re a brave and generous mom homeschooling while handling chronic health issues. Keep resting, keep going. 💕

    I was right there with my autoimmune issues about a year ago. Diagnosed 8 years ago but not really suffering until it just totally took me down. Could barely get through the next minute of each day.
    I am finally healing thanks to a strict diet and a fabulous doctor who has run ALL my bloodwork to help heal the underlying causes. For me, diet helps tremendously but it isn’t enough (I’ve done autoimmune paleo and added in what works. Very similar to Danielle Walker from Against All Grain.) Mine is a thyroid issue so I have to add that back in and supplements to help. But the combination has saved my life and I’m finally back to a happy normal I thought was out of reach forever.
    I highly recommend The Autoimmune Solution by Amy Meyers. Praying that you find the same hope and healing!

    Praying for you, friend! I’m so sorry your year hasn’t gone as planned.
    It may not be my place but if you have the time, please look up carnivore diet for autoimmune disorders. If you disagree, that is totally fine ❤ but I just felt an urgency to pass this on. 😊

      I am severe autoimmune also and I completely live on a varying diet of AIP and carnivore. I definitely agree with going a severe diet change. It really does help a lot.

    Totally know how you feel sweet lady. I have an undiagnosed autoimmune issue (it’s been 13 years). They know it is something, but it totally confuses every specialist and I have adverse reactions to the meds that should help the symptoms. You don’t sound crazy. Basically take it one day at a time, keep your faith and take care of yourself the best you can. We have a year round homeschool because my son and I are both chronically ill. We just learned to lean back and take it all one day at a time.

    I think I'm done shopping for curriculum for next year. I'm buying in advance with the sales. I made a curriculum inventory spreadsheet to keep track of what I have so I know what to buy as my kids get older.
    Praying you feel better ❤

    I’m in a similar spot with my teenager. We really have to figure out dual credit availability that makes sense for her before we commit to anything else next year.

    Please don't ever think that we think you're making it up. I became severely ill 4 years ago, and i still deal with issues daily. People asked me for the first year... "are you better yet?" "Well, you look great!" That's great and all but i was soooo ill even though i was fighting to walk around and do just a few things. These chronic issues are not visible on the outside. Many of us here are walking with you. Prayers for continued healing for you, and you are not alone. ❤

    Girl, look into the carnivore diet. I can almost promise it would be life changing for you. Also look at what it’s done for Mikala Peterson. I know she had severe arthritis and even had a knee replaced at 17. She’s symptom free eating the way she does. I know it sounds crazy, but just research it.

      I’ve already changed my diet, with little results after a year. It helped with some minor issues but not my back (my main issue). It’s been frustrating.

      YES!! That’s what I was thinking too! There is a gal on RUclips who had 9 autoimmune disorders, was almost dead, and has done a complete turnaround with Carnivore.

    I am so sorry to hear your struggle. I was just diagnosed with an AI disease this fall after experiencing sudden onset of severe fatigue and joint pain. It is really life altering. Hard to get use to this new norm. Some diet changes have seemed to help a bit.
    Being open with my kids about how I am feeling on a given day has been really important. Some days I just can't do what I have planned. I feel for you feeling behind with planning. Same here. My goal is to get one area decided and ordered each week until summer. Hang in there!

    I have never dealt with autoimmune disease before and don't really have any specific advice regarding it... But I have recently dealt with many health issues that work greatly lessened when I stopped drinking regular coffee. I replaced it with decaf coffee with almondmilk and tumeric or an anti-inflammatory tea. Sending prayers ❤

    I'm so sorry and will be continuing prayers for your health. How did you enjoy Masterbooks Chemistry? I hear mixed reviews on MB high school science. I'm using their elementary science and love it.

      Ww used only the middle grade chemistry. I’m probably not the right person to ask, as chemistry is my least favorite thing to teach lol! My son liked it alright but it was not my favorite.

    Im a little torn between Generations and Sonlight. Is Generations rich in literature and reading? I love all the books that come with Sonlight. But I from what Ive read about Generations it seems to be packed with scripture. How are the read alouds scheduled throughout the year? What does a day look like with Generations?

    I have some of the problem, but I just lock up out of nowhere sometimes. It's my lower back and I be in bed a lot some days, can't really work or even walk, can't really drive because it locks up sometimes and I have to pull over and wait it out.

    • @mandy-maltz
      @mandy-maltz  5 месяцев назад +1

      Oh that sounds awful, I'm sorry. The only thing that locks up for me is my jaw, but I think the AIP diet and Humira has helped that lately. I have more issues standing/walking. I have to balance sitting and walking, and make sure I'm not up for longer than 45 minutes or so, or the pain starts in.

    Have you looked into detoxing? Homeopathic? We had to do that with my husband. He had a parasite. Was in fight or flight

    • @mandy-maltz
      @mandy-maltz  5 месяцев назад

      I have, but what I have is autoimmune and genetic. I already have bone deterioration and fusing in my spine going on. I have to take Humira right now to slow it down.
