At the end of kid 90, a 40 something Soleil Moon Frye is confronted by a letter she wrote at 16 years old. Asking her now self a list of questions and hoping she feels loved. The song was written as that letter. “I haven’t shot a video in decades. Feeling insecure in my own skin I needed a mask to hide not knowing that the simplistic approach would reveal more of my vulnerabilities. I asked Director Don Hardy to shoot the video because I knew he would deliver something beautiful. The colors were influenced by the movie projections that filled the room and that consumed my body. My studio was the backdrop and capturing a raw and emotional performance was the inspiration.”

As a youngster listening to your music to a middle-aged 46 year old....This song is Amazing! I seen you in concert in Cleveland, Ohio back in the 90's. However sweet that is, this song brought me to tears. Those friends I seen you in concert with have passed on. Sometimes the strongest cannot handle life and the weakest ones can. Kudos, Linda, this a terrific song and memory catching a butterfly!

I just turned 40... I talk about Linda Perry often & how her artistry grabs moments that are like still photographs locked inside a secret vault inside of me & they just leap out. What im trying to say is we all end up turning into a semblance of our parents in becoming nostalgic about the olden days. I can’t wait to see the documentary I was such a punky Brewster fan when I was young. I was obsessed - i forgot how obsessed I was and how life was so much simpler thank you for your beautiful song Linda!
2:30 - 3:06 Literally WOW. From the line "frame by frame" to the 3:06 mark is where you feel all of the emotion she put into the song. What got me and brought a tear to my eye was the way she said "couldn't laaaaast". Its a broken vocal run, like she is on the verge of crying and barely able to hold those notes. I literally listened to that part repeatedly because of how well it was done. I am convinced that part will make anyone cry.
This song is beautifully sang by her because of her emotion. No one and I mean literally no one can do this song like that. Linda Perry is really the only one who can sing songs by Linda Perry.

I have also been sexually, physically, verbally and emotionally abused. I am 64 and just am learning why my life has been such a mess.
