I am the girl who hooky speaks to who didnt know who he was 🤣🤦♀️ i had heard of joy division but didnt know the members. He was really lovely and we chatted afterwards and he got us into the music venue for free as we helped him carry some equipment downstairs haha. Its funny reading these comments about 21 year old me 😂😂
That's awesome! It's surprising that back then you had only heard of the band. I'm Brazilian and by the time I was 21, I already knew a lot about Joy Division. They are quite well-known here. Did you not like rock much at the time, or did the band not have the same fame back then? Or are there so many good bands in Manchester and England that Joy Division got lost among them all? Haha
I was into my music, but it was more small bands that I was listening to at that age. I wish I had known more back then and not been as clueless but it was so fun meeting him and finding out he was in a band that I'd heard about but not realised he was in it xx
It's really neat to see Peter go by and get nostalgic about all these places in Manchester he used to frequent, and give a little bit of a history lesson along the way. Also I would've toppled over from shock if I saw Peter Hook in my street like those two girls haha, I would be asking him questions like crazy.
Depends on how appreciative of music you are. Nothing against those kids, but anyone who's into their music knows of bands/acts way before their time at least.
At 3:57 Luke's being asked "You started a club called the Electric Chair, it was in this building?". I think the interviewer got two things mixed up. There was a club called The Electric Circus and there was a punk band called The Electric Chairs.
Roadhouse has gone now! And hooky had just left/kicked? Out of New Order here! Still interesting video in that those girls didn’t know that Hooky was in Joy Division?!
@@t0268 yeah little alley way at the side of the apartments takes you straight to the canal side well worth a walk down there was there 2 weeks ago for a trip down memory lane before parkinsons kicks in lmao 🤣
You think that girl was born in 2010? She's looking mature for 1 years of age! For the record I was born in 1974 and I can name every member of Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch. Ner! :P
Well we can see like in the video .... All bands nowadays sucks so hard.... Holly shit the band on this videos is like those modern indies bullshit songs .... We miss the punk rock... True Punk Rock.... True punk Spirit
i think its bollocks what theyve done with the factory / hac name all that classical bullshit . the retro revival nights are legti of course but what the fuck has classical music got to do with rave music?
I was lucky to talk to Peter Hook when he had a concert here in Hong Kong on 31 March 2014 since New Order performed in Hong Kong in 1985 at Canton Disco.
"I used to be in a band". You're a fucking legend Hooky. You are always welcome in Ireland.
I’m so happy that girl didn’t reply “…who?” when he said he was in Joy Division lmao
yeah he never played a single record in the hac though but he gets booked as a resident now on the retro nights.
@nobby styles yet he played many times there live, but don't let facts get in the way of being a knob.

Legendary bassist.
I used to be in a band... Huu? Joy Division ... Really? 😄
they clearly have never heard of the band !
The only thing that would have made this scene totally complete, was if she'd been wearing an Unknown Pleasures T-shirt. 🙄😂
oh my god. I would scream if I saw him in front of me.
Nice one. Brings back memories, good ones.
He’s so much prouder of his Joy Division years than his New Order times

I used to be in a band, how much times you used that Peter?
0:51 Cannon Street - remember it well. Across from the fruit and veg barrows (now long since gone).

No Hook, No Order.

"You got to get history right when you're escaping from West Ham fans." Hilarious.
All gone now. Or going.
Rumour has it no one has ever seen Hooky’s wallet.
Two young lassies didn't have a clue....
PETE COOK IS BEST DJ EVER!
1:34 standard "northern quarter" band - completely forgettable.

These teens. For shame…
they are at least 20.
Really? I wonder how many bands you know off that were around 30 years before you were born?
A lot, a hulluva lot
