Oh my goodness, you are a genius! Thank you for your video. I'm a new first time homeowner of a two story home. I'm approaching my second year and due to the amount of leaves in my back yard, I'm reminded of cleaning my gutters. As a single female, the safest option is to hire someone but it's also to most costly. Your brilliant mind has given me the means of doing it myself. I have been thinking about making or creating a tool of some sort to reach the gutters over patio but wouldn't solve solution of second floor gutters. Saw one of your older videos and someone posted a comment for twostory solutions and you responded with the link for this video. Once again, thanks for posting such great videos and thanks for responding to the people who comment on them.
Thank you for your explanation of the link we provided on our first video. We appreciate your letting us to know how to got here so that we can improve our reach.
excellent thank you, and the idea of using phone for viewing is genius. the gutter where i am is first floor and has a small plant firmly embedded in there.
Hate to tell you this but, I came up with this way of cleaning gutters 32 years ago. Today, I have a better way of cleaning my gutters on my 2 story house. Good video though. PS, for those of you that think that this does not work, you are way wrong. It does work.
nice to learn someone else had something similar 32 years ago. For the old technology time when we only had digital camera, I had this one: ruclips.net/video/-meZaZRcnL8/видео.html , with newer technology, we now have wifi as you can see in the current video.
Thanks man! I felt like a dork with my giant pole and taped up hose, but it worked! It dislodged a giant plug and I have free flowing gutters now. All without needing a new hip!
Glad it helped! I like your comments very much, full of positivity and energy. I am just as happy as you are not needing a new hip, thank you for taking the time to share your result.
Great idea, worked better than a blower ,power washer or vacuum. Had a clog inside the down sprout,15 minutes later, it was dislodged and fixed. Did not have to spend any money as I had the parts to make this tool. Thank you so much
Thank you for taking the time to share, your comments will help many other viewers. Also just FYI, here is a newer video: ruclips.net/video/AM6lpjKFtrw/видео.html
Hey - genius- amazing video, plan on using this idea ! you saved me from climbing 2 storey with ladder ! THANK YOU !- Question for you -can you use a power washer if you have one/ Would this damage the gutter? Thanks Genius Asian !
when you have a small noozle, it will generate pretty strong flow with normal pressure. Try it on the ground before using it in the air. I also have a newer video to improve more: ruclips.net/video/AM6lpjKFtrw/видео.html
Mr GA, Taping a cell phone or camera to the hose, in the right position seems tricky. I'd rather use a drone with a camera. I know that would be tricky too but more fun. It also justifies my purchase of buying one. LOL I hope you can make some genius videos that involves using drones ;-)
What you need is not a drone that can fly fast, but a helicopter that can stand still in the air because you can not move your water jet too fast, the water jet need to advance a little bit at a time. Also you need another person just to operate the drone. So since you need the camera to be not moving and you don't want to waste another person to operate it, then why not tie the camera to a pole...?
@Behind the Veil The theoretical maximum vacuum is only 14.7 psi. A real vacuum device is much lower than that. When you have long hose, the vacuum pressure decreased, making it a weak device.
I'm building something like this at the moment with 3/4" pvc pipe for 20 feet- with the pipe being the transport of water as well however I realized it will not work with 3/4pvc as the pipe flexes far too much at 20' without water. Wood as used in this video would work as shown in video but the extension they made in this video is NOT 20feet (even though the calculation given is correct). Also, wooden paint roller extensions do not reach 20', metal may.
Today I got out my DIY tools and shot a video for you to see here: ruclips.net/video/B5ZXeX4OUkw/видео.html Both metal and wood should work because notice that I used two clamps (this video is 4K resolution, you can see details) to attach the metal on top of the wood, it still works.
We don't know how many Chinese are treated from ladders, it's censored by Commies. Not very genius if you ask me. But good video and I gave you a thumbs up on your device.
Yes, China not only censors but also has The best Great Firewall of China. However, you need to separate two groups of people. The first group are those in China believing everyone else in the world are brainwashed by the evil capitalists, because that was what they were told growing up. The second group of people are those who left China and live in US long ago, these people in the second group may not be in love with the gov. Still I thank you for your positive thumb up toward my video.
an astonishing 500,000 people each year in US fall from ladders. So you may suggest people not to climb ladders to avoid the injury. They should either spend big money to hire someone to clean, or use my DIY technique without climbing ladders, a newer version of this video is shown here: ruclips.net/video/AM6lpjKFtrw/видео.html
Yeah, you need to spend some time/effort to setup your operation on the ground. If you use ladder and fall, you will need to make an appointment with your doctor, visit the doctor, that will take more time. The government CDC says that there are 500,000 injuries each year, caused by falling from ladders. So if you don't spend more effort in the beginning, then you may have to spend the time/effort in the hospital, plus you may have to spend money on co-pay if you have medical insurance.
Thanks for the video, it's something many people may want to take advantage of. I'll just call a local cleaning company and have the covers set up on the gutters for future low to no maintenance. And you have a point about climbing, falling, hospital visits, etc. However this set up shown can also be dangerous and cause physical damages to oneself as well.
@@missaint1029 yes, if you hire someone you won't be injured. In fact, if you have money, you can hire people to do everything. If you don't have unlimited money, then your priority should be based on the death rate, the death rate is as follows: Heart disease: one in six Cancer: one in seven Car crash: one in 103 Fall: one in 114 For example, instead of hiring someone to clean the gutter, you should first use the money to join a gym, to move to less polluted areas, not to drive (order online) etc.

the branches from a bird's nest may be too thick, as you can see the black debris from the video, some of the black debris were decomposition of small branches, but it took at 3 years to decompose.
you may use a long telescopic extension pole, attach a coat hanger like this one: ruclips.net/video/-meZaZRcnL8/видео.html . Although the probability is low to be successful for one trial, but if you try 20 times, one of the times you may pick them up. @@brynleylewis7390 agree with you that the disadvantage of certain solutions. However my other options are: 1. climb ladders to risk the injury; 2. hire a professional. So I decided to leave it, as you could see from the video showing black debris. You will always have build up and dams, but if you are patient enough, it will get better when they decompose. Anyway, whatever you do, please don't climb the ladders.
@Semper Fi there are an astonishing 500,000 people each year fell from ladders and are injured. Some may be scared, other may not had anchored the ladders correctly. Since there are two moving parts, the end of the ladder that touches the ground and the part that touches the gutter, and two feet, two hands, any of the four contact points could fail, thus there could be multiple reasons of an accident. Even if you can secure all four points, there is still non-zero probability of one of the 500,000 people who could not focus on this task. If all 500,000 follow my advice not using the ladder, they will not be injured from falling. If they only anchored properly, some of them still may fall.
gutter viper uses leaf blower, but not every one owns a leaf blower. If you do have a blower, you still can use similar idea in this video, except instead of flushing water to the down sprout, you blow air to drive leaves over the gutter.
