No. I like Double Impact Tawara, he is surely one of the best character in the "shonen" genre (well, tenjo tenge is quite serious and mature but I wouldn't class it as a seinen) but the only reason Bunchichi even survived his fight with Shin is because Shin was doing his best to simply stay in control of his bloodlust. Remember that before killing himself Shin just put Bunchichi out of commission with only one blow (a elbow to the stomach) while simultaneously stomping Mitsuomi (the latter was in his boosted form). Bunchichi is the strongest natural character, that's what I would say, his power comes from himself, he has no special hereditary traits or medical induced condition like Mitsuomi, afaik.

Shin was the one who chose to be beaten by Tawara because if Shin could even try and fight without the Katana (Reiki) he could get out of control and kill everyone including Bunshichi and Mana. It was all explained by Fu Chien in the 20th (or 21st) episode.
It's kinda satisfying to look a guy like this being a strong character instead of just a muscular weakling like in other animes. By the way, I can hear Franky 😂
@@dantevic not really... If u compare old dragon ball z with super for example in the newer one everything looks like it's made of plastic. The methods they're using nowadays are seen as a progress because it's faster to make and there's more special effects but it ends up looking shallow

I started watching this anime after watching a scene of that hero guy bit on bunshichi's arm and it did nothing to him. but I saw this scene I came to know how strong this guy is.
I have no doubt he was actually the strongest character in the series. Kinda like Shunsui, Stark, Isshin, Urahara (Bleach), Shanks, Kizaru, Reyleigh (One Piece), etc. They don't take the fight seriously/don't care enough about being the strongest. If they did, power scaling would be a mess
As someone who read the manga first I was very disappointed with that car destroying scene because in the manga the flashback was interrupted by the two main characters calling bullshit on that event and Tawara told them to shut up and it was super hilarious.

And about that first 1/3... Why the hell do they use Takayanagi's voice as the background storyteller, this is specifically the MCs role and we can definitely tell he's not lol Cool anime though, but the manga does it much more justice.
exactly i got invested in souichiro but only got to see little of him and in the manga it wasn't him who saved the day in the end and ge kinda became the villain
