I've never thought about it, but the distance from which enemies see you here is a lot more accurate compared to real life, you really have to hide. We're just so used to games that have reduced the vision cones to be so dramatically small.

You can also set a FPS cap using Riva Tuner Statistic Server or using command \g_maxfps 100 or lower because the more FPS you have, the more accurate enemies are and their reactions are faster
Apparently the AI shooting through tents was a bug introduced in the 1.4 patch, where they removed bullet piercing resistance from the canvas material for multiplayer and the singleplayer AI broke as an unintended side effect. GOG included a mod's fix for this in the last patch (June 1st, 2019).

This was something intended to somehow facilitate team play, as i understand it, but it just about breaks the singleplayer game completely. Ctrytek [which is to say UbiSoft, who now own Crytek] does not care; it will not be fixed. A shame really, for its day this was a great game.

This is actually my favorite video from Dunkey, where he seems to genuinely be having fun with a game. His own laughter made me laugh more than half his jokes.

What I love about the AI is that the enemies take full advantage of cover. The 2D map will show their general direction but it won't show you exactly where they are unless you've already tagged them with your binoculars. Foliage will hide them to the point where they can get within 6 feet of you and all you can hear are their footsteps. It's incredibly stressful. If you're hiding behind a building, they'll slow down when they get to the other side of it and then slowly creep around to catch you by surprise. They'll also use grenades to flush you out.
wats also hard is that bushes in this game dont react to players or npcs like in other far cry games, meaning they can be hiding in bushes but u cant tell since the bushes dont move

I don't think you read my comment right or have never played the game. Foliage is pointless. Even if you hide in the foliage and move from that location while totally in cover in foliage still, they will always hit you with each bullet.

I always remember my very first experience (impression) of this game. I came to a beach, where I could see just past a large cliff edge, a group of grunts hanging out around a jeep. I attempted to sneak in towards them... shortly following that I hear "Did you hear that?"... *pin pull*... *quiet thud*... *BOOM*. The AI threw a grenade at it's own jeep and killed all three bad guys. O_O The AI beat it'self, that's an accomplishment.
Just so you all know. The game was released with this shitty ass bug where the enemies would shoot you through walls and detect you even though there's no chance in hell that they should. The solution was to patch the game. I still can't understand how they could release the game in that state. Didn't anyone test the freaking thing before shipping it?!

Patch 1.4 introduced this bug. It is the latest patch for the game. Stick to 1.33 and things are fine. Not sure if you can downgrade from 1.4 with steam.

I always remember my very first experience (impression) of this game. I came to a beach, where I could see just past a large cliff edge, a group of grunts hanging out around a jeep. I attempted to sneak in towards them... shortly following that I hear
"Did you hear that?"... *pin pull*... *quiet thud*... *BOOM*.
The AI threw a grenade at it's own jeep and killed all three bad guys.
O_O The AI beat it'self, that's an accomplishment.

Just so you all know. The game was released with this shitty ass bug where the enemies would shoot you through walls and detect you even though there's no chance in hell that they should. The solution was to patch the game. I still can't understand how they could release the game in that state. Didn't anyone test the freaking thing before shipping it?!

I heard some patch actually screwed it all up (I think the patch was meant for Steam). And it was never fixed because Ubisoft.
Patch 1.4 introduced this bug. It is the latest patch for the game. Stick to 1.33 and things are fine. Not sure if you can downgrade from 1.4 with steam.
