I've learned a lot from this show. Whenever I have a long awkward silence with someone I break it by saying, "Hey! See if you can wrestle me to the ground."
Poor Tom. Almost 3 seconds of sincerity and he nearly explodes from being so uncomfortable.
I think the “sincerity” is that he is homosexual, or at least bisexual

Tom is probably my favourite character, along with Greg. Matthew does such a convincing American accent!
If you listen carefully, his accent does slip through. Not in this scene exactly
I'm in love with Shiv, so she is my favorite character, but I do like the old man.

His accent slips through pretty frequently, so my headcanon is that he started affecting a sort of transatlantic accent in an attempt to impress/fit in with the Roys, and then it stuck. Also “I just popped ‘round to say” is the most British thing I’ve ever heard come out of a Midwesterner’s mouth lolololol.
Sarah Snook does a better American accent.
Matthew Macfadyen gave, I think, the best performance in this series, among a very strong cast. He was superb.
jesus you can almost feel in how much pain Tom is in, the actor does a fantastic job, i even teared up a bit.
I can sense immense sadness from Tom.
PLOT TWIST, this is probably my favourite scene in the entirety of the show. Their dynamic was such comedy gold, it really was.

Tom taking about Nero pushing his wife down the stairs has a whole new meaning when thinking about the end of season 3.

This scene was bookended so well with the "YESSSS!" moment from episode 7. Tom knocking over the stand in this scene even foreshadowed him wrecking the entire office later on.
Gosh I am gonna miss all the layers that Matthew Macfadyen brings to the screen as Tom.

i love his facial expressions. out of all the tv shows i watched i feel like Succession is the only show where you can truly say they all have intentional microexpressions, especially with the way they shoot the scenes, they always have to be in character

more like he was gonna be paraded and humiliated in the coliseum by nero rivals, after nero died. dude had no choice of anything in his life, so he took control of the only thing he could: his death.

From what I remember, Nero kicked his second wife in the stomach many times, killing her and her baby. But it’s also believed that all of the documented accounts of Nero’s reign in Rome were written by his political adversaries, which is so relevant to this show in the form of controlling the narrative. These writers are phenomenal

Why is Matthew Macfayden's voice an octave higher doing an American accent? Still a nice voice though.
My friend is taking an acting class it’s because to do an American accent you have to talk from your mouth while doing a British or similar accent is talking from your throat
