A bit too much shilling though. These universities create non-thinking caffeine-addicted yes-people and order-followers. Even what he said about 'coupling' is not true. Most people graduate as single and with a warped view of romance and marriage, besides all the debt. He says nice things but in the grand scheme he's almost a paid advertisement.

Our world needs more people like Sal Khan: Intelligent, articulate and willing to lead. We have too many Liberal Arts & Humanities majors leading the world, most of whom will never do anything for the advancement of humanity.
In a world that pays more attention to the release of the new I-phone or I-pad, it's great to see Sal being recognised for his efforts.
Let's hope this serves a catalyst for a new generation of thinkers; the ones who really care.
    What an inspiration to humanity!

I do see your point, it is a good one. I have never been to college, but found the universality of his speech transcended the institution. Using Khanacademy, I see that he wants for everyone what was only available to him and his peers at MIT. His speech at Rice University was equally inspiring. He may deliver the spark, but each of us has to nurture the flame and shine individually. As I age I learned not to compare my accomplishments to anyone else. I learn and relearn this lesson.

It was an MIT graduation. RUclips gives us the ability to see it. But its intended audience were those who graduated from one of the best Universities in the world. He's asking them not to waste the advantages that they have. I think, Salman Khan, who went from profiteering to altering the course of education, has the right to tell people who will mostly go into banking, or VC, or profiteering of industries and tell them to take their skills and make the world a better place.
