Great to see your inventive mind at work again. Your ideas and work are inspiring. Engine stand becomes engine test stand! With the 2x2 inch square tubing, could you weld 2 bolt anchors at equal distances from the ends of each 29 inch legs? Weld the threaded bolt anchors on the upper corners of the outside tubing to allow them to push the inner tubing squarely against the inner tubing, wedging them in place more securely? Or I believe I have seen where a bolt can pass through the top of the outer tubing, thread on the wall of the inner tube and extend to the bottom side of the inner tubing. A 1 inch steel plate is placed at the contact point of the bolt where it meets the floor of the inner tubing. When you crank down on the bolt the inner steel tubing is expanded enough to wedge it inside the outer tube. Whatever you do we will be watching and hoping it all comes together for you. Wonder if you need tubing legs that come out on the sides to prevent a rollover, or locking wheels - the BBC is sooooo heavy.

Hi Mike....Thanks for the nice comments and I like your idea, it sounds better than what I did
capping the top and bottom of the 2x2 square tubing to tighten it up.... With that idea, I may
be able to utilizes it in other places on this build.... The extra legs and locking wheels might
come, but I think I'm going to try it as is and improve as needed...

Brother you sure come up with some good ideas and you follow them thru so well. Wish I still had the skill, know how and forethought you have. I have all of the equipment, shop and used to be able to fabricate such things but have had a defibrillator for the last 9 years, a torn rotator cuff and other ailments that prevent or hinder me now but by Jingo I'm gonna have my brother help me build a couple of these test stands as winter time projects for my 427 and a 327.
