That not the scene that proves she's always been a good person and if you noticed in each arc besides luffy nami is the one that forms the most connections and friends with people in each arc becaus she's kind hearted
I think a scene like this shows why Usopp is one of the best characters in One Piece. He's not a monster in battle like Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji. He doesn't have a devil fruit power like Chopper. He's an ordinary man (at least he was here before observation haki) who knows his limits but cares deeply for his friends and will put his life on the line if he has to. Nami realises this and resonates with him, she cares more for his well-being than the money. The music adds to a great, yet despairing scene. You have to give massive credit to the voice actors as well. I would say Usopp is one of the more relatable characters.
Luffy ate a devil fruit and trained in his childhood you could see his strength is that big even in the early episodes. Sanji is actually a modified human. He was just more "human" than his siblings. Zoro's strength probably came from his genetics where Oda hinted with the word ''sunacchi" in the wano arc which points to Zoro's hometown. He also trained to surpass kuina. Usopp didn't train in his childhood unlike the monster trio.. that's why you can't ain't blame him for being weak plus judging his appearance as not being "badass" like the others doesn't make him less likeable. He won't stay weak forever. After 2 years of timeskip, he gets alot stronger and recently in dressrosa arc, he awakened the kenbunshoku haki which he most likely inherited from his father Yasopp (Yasopp is a sniper in shank's crew) no doubt about it.
Usopp now: Franky... he took the money, and had his crew beat me to a pulp. I'm so weak! I don't deserve to be with you! Usopp later: Wow! His hair changes if you press his nose long enough!
Yeah, weird to think about how one's relationship to someone can change so drasticly like that. Heck in one movie they have a friendly competition. Oh.. I just remembered Franky's reaction to god Usopp too.
When Franky saws the love ussop put into repairing merry, he recognizes him. Also, he is proud that ussop can handle his creations to their top level, like the sunny's gaon ho or the braquiotank
What makes this extremely wholesome is Nami at this timeline, cares and LOVES money. She does whatever she can to get that opportunity. The fact she told Usopp “forget about the money” and concerns on his wellbeing shows alot the kind of person Nami is before the timeskip.
they have a strong bound also as normal humans they know that there is no a "go back to home" , they can die in a way or another because they fight monster so they are to close becuase that can be the last time
This scene is so impactful. Ussop was in his most worst Situation and he felt no hesitation to open up to nami in the slightest even tho we hear directly from himself how dissapointed he is and what a failure he must be. He still saw nami and told her about his insecurities. Both of them share such a deep bond
also because they know the path they are is dangerus and probably they well know that there is no a "go back to home" as normal humans they enyoi each other because is a high chanse that there will be the last
You gotta love how Nami acts regarding the crowd surrounding them, her strong demeanor feels all the more important because she is doing it for the most part to shield Usopp’s honor, he already feels like a failure, he doesn’t need a crowd of nobodies criticizing him or feeling pity for him.
My favorite part of this scene is the dramatic irony. We already know, along with Nami, that the ship can't be fixed. Hearing Usopp say "We were finally going to repair Merry!" It makes the scene all the more heartbreaking. Even if they got the money back somehow, we as an audience knew that they would eventually have to break the news to Usopp about the ship. Oda is incredible at creating dramatic tension in so many ways.
This was definitely one of the most poignant scenes in the entire Water 7 saga. Not only did you feel it for Usopp, but you really got the sense in this scene that Nami could empathize with his sense of weakness (a good call-back to how she confided in him about feeling the same way during Alabasta), and during the saga as a whole, it really came home strongly how Usopp's low self-esteem affected his sense of self-worth as a Straw Hat and his interactions with the other crew members by extension (especially Sanji, who gave him a much-needed pep talk during the Enies Lobby fights, and Zoro, who also wanted him to come back to the crew but had to exercise tough love and crew discipline so that Luffy's authority as the captain wouldn't be jeopardized).
Normally someone could laugh when the anime shows how weak is Usopp against a strong enemy, but in this situation you could feel the pain Usopp felt for being part of the weakest crew members.
It wasn't just his weakness, but his feeling of uselessness. Nami could be weak since her real use is being a Navigator. Chopper is a doctor. Sure, Ussop is supposed to be a sharp shooter... but they are lacking good weapons so at this moment in time, that held no value. And as a carpenter... he was crap... they needed to get a real one.... So Ussop at this point in time really was useless... he just couldn't keep up... until his weapons finally got an upgrade and he finally had the chance to use them.
Digitalistic sure, because when jumped on by group of thugs normal person lights a cigarette, drops a one liner and kicks every single one until they apologize.
Seeing this as a kid, I actually felt really bad for Ussop and just imagined to myself what this would be like in real life. If you found your friend nearly lifeless and robbed. They work hard to get what they want, and he/she is fighting to get what they wants back, only to get destroyed and almost dead, I would be fucking pissed off.
even as an adult you can actually relate to what usopp feels.. there are times where you fail because you weren't good enough and you feel like there's nothing you can do. The line that hit me the most is when he said he couldn't face the crew because of his failure.
Same here man. Oda can REALLY hit you in the feels, Water 7 was one of the most emotional arcs I've ever seen in any anime. Heck, even in any show or movie.
I hadn’t felt this much emotion from the show since Nami’s breakdown during the Arlong Park arc. This scene was so depressing and sad, but watching the crew march to the Franky House to avenge their friend was heartwarming.
I don't understand how anyone can dislike Nami just because she hits her comrades. She's a great character. Also, Sanji beats the crap out of Luffy and Ussop all the time
This arc is so intense 1.) Luffy and Nami learned that Going Merry cannot be repaired anymore, they even argued with the shipwrights. 2.) Usopp disappeared. Found Usopp lying on the ground gravely injured and learned 200 million beli was stolen by franky family. Usopp had an existential crisis as a strawhat member. 3.) The gang was on a collapse, Robin disappeared with no trace and Usopp argued with Luffy about the fate of the Merry, went on a physical fight. Usopp left the strawhats. 5.) Robin was forced to take part on CP9 operations and surrender to the world governement in exchange of letting the strawhats live. 5.) Strawhats were framed by the undercovered CP9 for assassination attempt on iceburg by using Robin. Strawhats are being headhunted around the water 7 and were forced to hide. Strawhats thought Robin betrayed them. 6.) Undercover CP9 agents revealed their identities infront of Iceburg and Paulie. Learned that 3 of their coworkers/friends for 5 years were just acting. 7.) Paulie, who still see them as friends, felt betrayed and saddened. Even got shocked when his former friends even attempted to murder them without hesitation.

Iv always felt like nobody remembers this scene but i always do, its like the one thing i remember the most, this scene right here, usopp at his lowest point was so human i just couldnt believe after this happened he was my favorite character of the entire show.
Fr especially since the merry was in bad condition and the money was gonna be used to fix her and now it’s gone he must’ve felt like shit for letting that happen since he was emotionally attached to merry
The shame and disappointment he felt here was the beginning of his self doubt. This leads to his fight with Luffy over Merry! I have read multiple comments, cursing Usopp about fighting Luffy but this is so humanly possible between two friends! Everyone talks about loyalty but no one talks about the issues such as inferiority complex and feeling of being a burden.
same lol at first i thought i wont forgive him eventho he's going to join the crew, but the fight happened and i just thought "okay franky if you're able to reconcile usopp and the others back together then i'll forgive you" franky kinda did not do that but i guess i grew into him. oda genius as always
This scene is exactly when I started to love Usopp as a character. As myself know that feeling of soul crushing defeat. I’ve always struggled with the idea of being helpless and unable to do anything about it. So yeah this scene make me emotional every time I watch it.
Ernesto Chiu Well that was before when she wanted money to buy of her village, so it doesn't really count. She wasn't really a part of the crew at that point and I'm pretty sure her town was more important.
The source of shame is pride, thats why he was so ashamed of his weakness and thats why in this state he tried to get it back alone. God i love this guy.
@@alysssabear the comedy element in pre ts came from the crew joking around with each other like real friends would Now the comedy is gags that are painfully flanderized and inorganic
By far, the saddest moment in all OP for me. The brutal feeling of uselessness, shame and weakness hitting hard when failing to those he loves. The feeling of not being able to retribute by a simple act as keep a godamm suitcase safe for those that saved him so many times. All this coming from someone that doesn't believe in himself and is totally low self stemed. Maybe getting even worse, he thinks the ship he adores will not survive because his fault, not knowing Merry is 100% condemned. Holy shit.
The music really makes this scene even more powerful with emotion. I remember hearing the same background music during Choppers backstory. Plus, the Voice acting for Ussop is unbelievable Good.
The worse part in this scene is Usopp still believes that Merry can still be fixed, that's why he's so disappointed to himself for not taking care of the money which supposedly will be used for repairing his beloved ship. It's probably one of the most heartbreaking Go D. Usopp scenes in all of One Piece. :((
This part hit like a freight train! Seeing how Nami and Usopp truly care about the crew and each other is probably one of the reasons why I love this show. Not so much for the story, but just to see the camaraderie and family bond between them all.
Being beaten to the verge of death doesn't bother Usopp, the fact he lost the money and is worried about being seen as not dependable. Man... Usopp is a true friend
I just realized this guy added music to this scene,no wonder I didn't get teary eyed when I first watched the original. This one hurts more with the music.
Up until now, I can't believe people saying these two are weak and useless. Well, I'm sorry that they're the most normal human in the crew and not a devil fruit eaters. I feel like those people skipped arlong park's arc, where they mentioned that nami only drew maps, she didn't even trained to fight. They're in the world where strong people are, with powers. Just because they're not monstrous, they are vital members of the crew and is fulfilling their roles in the crew so well. They all have roles in the crew, nami's role as the navigator is to choose the safest path to avoid danger or death, to take them to adventures, she also have extraordinary skills in reading weather which even devices can’t track, especially cyclones, important note, nami was super sick and yet, detect a cyclone. She is also good at negotiating and really smart. While Usopp’s role is the sniper, he mostly got their back, he already proved himself so many times and is fulfilling his role so damn well. All crew members has each role, these two might be less strong than others but they can be great at their own abilities and capabilities, that’s their strength that helped the crew so many times. Which means, they aren't weak or useless at all. There are times that they're getting scared, that's normal. They're not the monster trio who's fearless and confident enough to take anyone in a fight. But there are times that they'll fight and win it, even if it's teamed up. They’ll fight just to buy their crewmates some time, to protect them. Idk why some fans failed to see their worth and things they sacrificed. Fans these days are so unbelievable and too toxic. If the character is less strong, they’ll throw them out the bus and doesn't acknowledge the things they have done. Lol. What a shame.
This arc has the best writing in all of One Piece. Usopp gets so well rounded as a character and it's absolutely crushing to watch. Dude gets beaten near death and the first thing he immediately thinks about is how they can't fix Merry and how disappointed his friends will be. Or that he thinks at least.

People who say he is a "bitch" in this scene truly never understood the meaning of struggle and being weak is
I’m fan of Usopp, and this scene really broke my heart
He the GOAT, period
usopp now would of kicked the Franky family ass which is pretty cool. usopp is more powerful than he gets credit for
I honestly think he would've whooped their asses if he had the prep for it
Usopp was the most relatable straw hat before the timeskip. He used to be closest thing along with Nami to a normal human being.
Carrion Hound Wasn't that Sanji?
Digitalistic sure, because when jumped on by group of thugs normal person lights a cigarette, drops a one liner and kicks every single one until they apologize.
I knew it.
It helps that Ussop voice actor is so good with the delivery on this scene, you really feel the shame he's suffering in his tone
@@marcuswolve7297 Yep bro. I actually thought Ussop was dead too.
It happend to me... no one fought for me
Same here man. Oda can REALLY hit you in the feels, Water 7 was one of the most emotional arcs I've ever seen in any anime. Heck, even in any show or movie.
I hadn’t felt this much emotion from the show since Nami’s breakdown during the Arlong Park arc. This scene was so depressing and sad, but watching the crew march to the Franky House to avenge their friend was heartwarming.
the relation of nami with the straw hats are strong but the most is with usopp because they have many bonds and moments thogether
You really get to see Nami “feel” his pain always makes me choked up....
Nami is a nice woman in hard times. ^_^

Just this scene, itself makes enough for me to rewatch the whole series again. I'm not even kidding
...You did?
One of the most moving scenes I have ever seen in anime....I still tear up when I see it....Water 7 is the best Arc in One Piece.....
Rob was laughing at him
The emotion in their voice it makes me tear up instantly water 7 made my eyes water 😭😭😭
I don't understand how anyone can dislike Nami just because she hits her comrades. She's a great character. Also, Sanji beats the crap out of Luffy and Ussop all the time
She’s a bitch, it’s annoying how she yells and hit her crewmates over their flaws , but they can’t criticize her and got plenty of flaws herself
Nami has her great moments like this, but she's also a total bitch at times where there's no need to be one.

This arc is so intense
1.) Luffy and Nami learned that Going Merry cannot be repaired anymore, they even argued with the shipwrights.
I love Nami and Ussop relationship🧡🥺 too cute! So brother and sister!
It’s heart breaking hearing Usopp’s voice, you can feel how sad he is

Nami "they hurt him badly. I shouldn't move him" proceeds to move him

I remember being mad knowing that Franky was going to join the crew after seeing this scene. lol Now he's one of my top 3 favorites!
I hate Franky
I didn't know which made me so much more surprised I thought he was the main villain this ark
Dude i was exactly the same way. Now he's also in my top 3 chars haha.
Franky is the worst strawhat
same lol at first i thought i wont forgive him eventho he's going to join the crew, but the fight happened and i just thought "okay franky if you're able to reconcile usopp and the others back together then i'll forgive you"
franky kinda did not do that but i guess i grew into him. oda genius as always
This arc felt so great. So much internal drama and disputes. Loved the real interactions and moments.
Usopp got it really hard in this Arc 🤧😭
I feel so bad for Usopp. He felt so ashamed
And the worst was just yet to come..
😖
@@lightheart5 i would be fuckin pissed to work with pirates that ahve powers if they cannot face someone who is more stronger than them

Just seeing Usopp cry and feeling utterly humiliated breaks my heart
😭😭
I'm a massive dub fan but I have to admit that shit hit different
This scene is exactly when I started to love Usopp as a character. As myself know that feeling of soul crushing defeat. I’ve always struggled with the idea of being helpless and unable to do anything about it. So yeah this scene make me emotional every time I watch it.
Nami doesn't care for the money more than ussop?
Real nakama is much important then money......
That why i more like her than hancock.
Nami really carefull about her nakama.
Hancock didn't have Nakama, she had worshipers...plus her scar was one that made her not trust anyone...
TheDeathmail She trusts in Luffy
Ernesto Chiu Well that was before when she wanted money to buy of her village, so it doesn't really count. She wasn't really a part of the crew at that point and I'm pretty sure her town was more important.
This makes me cry. I love how they care for each other
Zoro , Luffy , Nami and Usopp's friendship will never be replaced by other crew members
Nami and Ussop one of the most beautiful relationships in one piece like siblings and besties ❤
たった数分で涙が出るなんて素晴らしい
Ussop deserved it he's a clown
Usopp is the most relatable character

“Yeah.. I’m so weak”
That hit different
I always love these moments when they show the only thing that Nami values more than money is her crew
I think Nami always had a soft spot in her heart for Usopp because he was just as weak as she was.
0:20 野次馬へ掛けた言葉はめっちゃ強い口調で必死そうだけど、その直後にウソップに掛けた言葉はすごく心配そうで不安そうで優しい口調と声色になってるのほんと好き
As much as Nami says she loves money, it's always really nice when she shows that she actually loves her crew more
The source of shame is pride, thats why he was so ashamed of his weakness and thats why in this state he tried to get it back alone.
God i love this guy.
This is one reason why I like Usopp, he is having a lot of development throughout this arc
I never really cry over sad scenes in anime, but this scene always gets me to tear up
I miss the old onepiece where the crew actually interacted with each other meaningfully without yelling over some joke
I think there were more jokes before timeskip.
Pre timeskip was way more comedic, what do you mean? 💀
@@alysssabear not my point.
I think you watched old one piece with a c○ck in your ear
@@alysssabear the comedy element in pre ts came from the crew joking around with each other like real friends would
Now the comedy is gags that are painfully flanderized and inorganic
Usopp's voice actor is just legendary
Bruno Marincolo he sure is! I can definitely feel the emotion in his voice
He have more than over 30 years of voice acting experience.
Wow that dialogue is insane, so well written to set up the character arc Usopp goes through
やっぱナミってめちゃくちゃ優しいよなぁ。
ウェザリアで新聞見たときも、ルフィの気持ち考えてガチ泣きしてたし。
By far, the saddest moment in all OP for me.
The brutal feeling of uselessness, shame and weakness hitting hard when failing to those he loves. The feeling of not being able to retribute by a simple act as keep a godamm suitcase safe for those that saved him so many times. All this coming from someone that doesn't believe in himself and is totally low self stemed.
Maybe getting even worse, he thinks the ship he adores will not survive because his fault, not knowing Merry is 100% condemned. Holy shit.
Usopp's voice actor so good I FelT it
The music really makes this scene even more powerful with emotion. I remember hearing the same background music during Choppers backstory. Plus, the Voice acting for Ussop is unbelievable Good.
I feel so bad for usopp especially the fact that the moment he recovers he ends up hearing that they’re gonna get rid of the going merry
Usopp may not be the strongest but you can tell he has just as much pride as any other straw hat.
Usopp remains tobe the most relatable and human charecter in the show.
This arc broke me. The closest we came to this level of drama and character development in the new world was the Sanji/Whole Cake Island arc.

This to me is probably one of the most saddest moments in the anime because knowing how fun and goofy usopp is and seeing him like this breaks me
This arc has the best writing in all of One Piece. Usopp gets so well rounded as a character and it's absolutely crushing to watch. Dude gets beaten near death and the first thing he immediately thinks about is how they can't fix Merry and how disappointed his friends will be. Or that he thinks at least.
