    I really appreciate that there's photography channel that has a more laid back narrator that isn't shoving their face in a web cam and using great editing that's also really educational. I'm super new to Polaroid photography and photography in general so I appreciate your channel.

    I agree 100%. I used to purchase my film from target, Best Buy or wherever I could find it. Had a couple of packs that legit were crap. I ended up calling Polaroid and asking what is up with their product and their film is $15 a box and I got a box that didn’t develop at all. From that point on I started ordering straight from Polaroid and I have not had a single problem since.

    You need to understand that impossible / Polaroid film has been on a straight uphill Journey since it was first released. Every single pack you buy will be better than the last. Also, when you buy from the store, not only are the earlier versions, but they could be sitting there for who-knows-how-long. Always always always check the date. When you bought it does not matter only the use-by/born on date

    • @SweetLouPhotography
      @SweetLouPhotography  4 года назад

      Cool Jesus!! I actually made a vid about better Polaroids (ruclips.net/video/kQEpGeggg-s/видео.html) The only thing I would add is based on my current experience with the 2020 formula (it seems like we are on a new, more stable chemistry) you should order from Polaroid, as I've had the best results going straight through them. I also think you should try to shoot the film as soon as possible- I think the longer it sits in your fridge, the more likely it will be to not develop properly.
      Or, did you mean composition stuff? Like not the performance of the film but rather creative ideas for the film itself?

    • @laika3660
      @laika3660 4 года назад

      @@SweetLouPhotography I watched that video, it was very informative! But yes, a bit more about the creative uses of the film. Maybe how to take great double exposures, what you could do with long exposures, or just even how to take better overall photos when shooting with an instant camera vs a digital.

      I love the newer Polaroids, but their film tends to be unreliable in my experience. My favorite format, and most reliable has been the FujiFilm Instax Wide. I made a vid about that camera too actually!

    I’ve had a similar experience with sourcing film from Amazon. The film was nearly expired when I got it. The developer pods will dry out and you’ll get those vertical stripes and poor development. I use only the monochrome film as I didn’t love the color of their color film.

    hey man do you think it s worth considering to buy a onestep 2 instead of a onestep+? I want to make it a present, and that person it isn t a photographer, not even an amateur to say it like that, just a regular person, but she would like this very much. I m asking that because the differences between diaphragms and focal length

    • @SweetLouPhotography
      @SweetLouPhotography  4 года назад

      Hey there! I actually did a review of both cameras if you want to compare in detail. To me the big differences between the two, the One Step 2 is a more casual experience. It doesn't connect to the phone, it doesn't have the focus switch. So if you want more control for more experimentation, go for the One Step+ but if you want the more point and shoot for fun sort of experience, go for the One Step 2. Hope that helps!!

      Thanks much, glad you dig what I'm doing here-- in my experience, the film seems to perform the best when you buy it from Polaroid, and use it fairly quickly (don't let it sit in the fridge for mad long, you know?) Regarding the camera, I picked up one from Target, and had no problems with it-- I don't think it necessarily matters where you get the camera itself from. But I do think it matters where you buy the film from.
