Thanks for doing this video. Short and to the point and exactly what I needed to know!
Hot off the press, you found new hidden gems!!
I missed that announcement, thanks for sharing. It will be helpful in the future.
Super helpful for circular designs!
That saved me a lot of time thanks!
Wow Awesome! Nice tutorial
Thanks!
How precise do you have to get in positioning your bit above center? Seems tricky. Does it entail measuring your workpiece and marking center?
I use a long straight edge to mark an x using 2 diagonal marks crossing in the center.
And chucking up a vbit, makes aligning x,y zeros very precise when needed.
Usually I'm cutting out my workpiece as the last toolpath so precision center isn't imperative in that scenario, but if you're like carving a Joice Grove into some exotic hardwood cutting boards, you might want to use the vbit method to get center as precise as possible.
Thanks for the video, but do i now need to manually guide the router to the centre? Sounds harder!
The spindle would need to be jogged into position for setting.x,y zero regardless of whether corner or center is being used, yes.
Wonderful news
FINALLY!!!!
Cool, except that it uses a "pro" feature. If you want to keep using the free version, you can't change zero settings, unless I'm missing something.
You are correct, this is a Pro only feature as it is considered an "advanced zeroing method"
how is it done in the 3d mode
I actually made a video showing that too. It does take a little math and trickery to get it at the right placement, but at least it's possible...

this is not in the 3D carving
It must be done my moving the model for 3d
