Enjoyed your video but I think a bit more can be said about the action of the Padlock Icon by the Size Settings at 11:30. If the padlock is locked it maintains the "Aspect Ratio" of the imported image. So if you, say, doubled the image height the width would also double. With the padlock unlocked double the height and the width would stay as original and the image would become distorted. In the example given set the height at 6 with a locked padlock and the width would change to maintain the overall shape. In this case circular.
Thought I would point out that your zero is wherever you set it for the machine. All your numbers for cutting are then based off your machine's zero point. Ex. if machine zero is set at center of your table/work holding area, with the top of the material that is being cut set at zero for the z axis of your machine, and making/cutting a pocket (square) that is 3"x 3" x 2. Left of the center would be -1.5000 and right of center would be +1.5000 inches in x and y. Whereas machine zero being set and the bottom left of your table, that cut area would now be +3.000 in x and y. Your z/cut depth being that zero is at top of your material would be -0.0000 through -2.0000 inches. if your machine zero/tool bit is set at zero on the top of the table/work holding area everything would then be +/up from that point. That way you can leave your machine position for x and y always in the same location.
The Easel software was developed by the Inventables company for their CNC machine called X-Carve. The software can be used with other CNC machines, but I am not sure about laser. I do not have any experience with a laser attachment as of yet and its integration into Easel.
I downloaded Easel and ran out the 30 day free trial. Everyone keeps referring to this as "free" software. I have never been able to use the software, pro or not. It's always said "You need pro to do this". 30/month is more than I pay for cable. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you so much for sharing your findings, very helpful.
super informative video, I like the way you explain what you are doing
Want to thank you for this info. I'm new to the cnc world and this helped out for starting my new journey .
I learned something today, Thank you!

Thanks. Great info.

Hello Sir, The Easel Software is Compatible or can use to any brand of Cnc laser machine?

The background music makes it so hard to focus
Thank you for the feedback. I will make the appropriate adjustment on my next tutorial.
I agree. If I want background music, I will turn on the radio. Most annoying.
The object itself is not 6 inches it is the frame around the object that is six inches.
Best background music yest by the way
Tip # 6 and 7 respectively: ditch easel for Vectric V Carve, and figure out a way to get the Ender 3 wheels outta the whole system
I really enjoyed this video content but i just could not focus on the information with all he goofy background noise/ music.
These aren’t “tips” it’s how the program is used.
