I have this adapter, the control ring is very useful. I used it to adjust the ISO on my EOS R8.
To each his/her own I guess. When I bought my first Canon mirrorless camera (R6) I bought the control ring adapter. Having found absolutely no use for the control ring, other than to duplicate things easily controlled on the camera, when I bought my second body (R7) I opted to save $100.00 and buy the regular adapter.
Im here to wonder if the control is really needed so you answered my question. If you learn your camera, I shouldn't need the control ring.
Thanks for the video, right now i´m thinking about change my M50 mark II to a R6 mark II, and i have the sigma 12-24 Art f2.8 and the sigma 24-70 Art f2.8, my question is about certainly the autofocus works good and fast?, the R6 has about 4000 focus points and for my personal use, is very import, i wachted that you have de 150-600 and the autofocus is very importan too.
I use this combo with my Sigma 24-70m Art, 150-600m C, 15-35m Art, and 85m Art and no issues with the autofocus.
Does the adapter change image or video quality or focal length if used with EF or EF-S lenses for the RP camera?
There is a slight change but hard to notice it. In general it shouldn't significantly affect image and video quality or the focal range.
Possibly this is a dumb question, but does the control ring adapter do anything with all-manual lenses? That is, is it controlling the lens or the camera body?
I haven't tried that yet but it looks like that doesn't work that well with manual focus lens. See more here

is this adapter compatible on R8 and R6 MRK2 to use EF lenses?
It is compatible with EOS R series camera, includes either of them.
Great
Thank you!
Chill with the music Homeslice!
I'm glad that you find it enjoyable.
Its cost is totally ridiculous, just buy a Meike or a NEEWER.
Great choice indeed, I also own Meike :)
@@Chendaking I bought a Meike with the control ring.
