I have wanted a Q7 since I first saw one in 07. I can finally afford to buy one now, but the high cost of maintenance scares me. I have looked at other makes and models, but I always end up coming back to a Q7. The ones I can afford have close to and over 200000km ( diesel TDI models ).

Same as me, but go for 3.0 petrol ,much better. Diesel will cost u more on maintenance.

@@kalimann2766 The 3.0L T gas engine is a rare one to find. The 3.6L is more common here in Canada, but suffer from carbon build up. I was told that the diesel engines had most problems sorted by 2010. I don't think I have ever researched a vehicle more than I have done for a Q7. Bottom line is, Audi's are not cheap to maintain out of warranty ( what ever the model you chose ). If you can find a good independent German car mechanic and a good source for cheàp parts, we should be ok.

you can get some good fuel additives these days that help reduce carbon build up, the only thing that worries me with these is that if it reduces the build up round the cylinders the engine may start to burn oil. although tolerances are obviously better than in the old days when i used to work on them
