As a teenager I watched the 1964 Republican convention in San Francisco, my hometown, from gavel to gavel. It was then that I became enamored of the conservative/libertarian movement and I haven't wavered since. To this day Barry Goldwater is the kind of politician I most admire.

The man that define modern conservative and libertarian movement as we know it. God bless you for starting the Regan revolution, Ron Paul revolution, and Trump populist movement. You have shaped this country in a positive way more than most presidents. It a shame that you never see the full extent of your work

@Abitofsanity Trump isn't a religious president like Bush. He couldn't care less if you're an Atheist, Muslim, etc. He just playing it for the base. Trump support the common troops, not the top brass and force other NATO countries to pay their fair share. He also cut taxes and deregulate the economy, leading to strong economic growth before COVID. Trump is a social liberal, fiscal conservative Republican. Just like Goldwater.

@Abitofsanity OH OK. If you want to talk about the so-called "Muslim ban," why didn't he banned travel from places like Indonesia and Malaysia? The two most populated Muslim countries? Also, why does it include places like Venezuela? I don't think Venezuela is predominantly Muslim. If you look at place that have restrictions, they are unstable places where terrorists are roaming around.

@Abitofsanity What Trans ban are you specifically talking about? I don't remember Trump signing anything against Trans people. If you said something about teaching kids Trans stuff and CRT. I assure you that Goldwater would be at the forefront of banning it. He would see through the CRT and other social issues as just another way of Marxist infiltration. Why do you think he refuses to sign the civil rights act despite not being a racist and heavy pressure from the media?

As a republican he was more liberal. He comprised God’s word. He was for abortion & gays right. So very sad to hear about him.
