The technique you used, with so little clay, gave a wonderful effect. I've never seen makume gane used without covering the entire surface of the backing clay. Your pendants are stunning. And this is not the first time you're creative mind has done something I've never seen before. How fun for me and the rest of us! Thank you so much for making this video!
This might be a way to give new life to some pieces that didn't make the grade and have been sitting in a drawer awaiting some inspiration! I'm going to try covering one to see how it looks!
I wish you could see what l made today after watching your videos for days now and I only started with clay about 3 weeks ago l am so proud to have made the above stone today. Many many thanks for your wonderful videos and guidence
My absolute favourite mokume gane tutorial and pattern. I just love it! 💗 I’m fairly new to this and this is by far my best work with this technique. Just adore the colours too. Thank you so much for sharing. 💕
I can't believe how that looks so much like a butterfly wing. Mine *never* turns out that good. I will have to watch it step by step to follow!! It's just beautiful.
Thank you! Yes, follow each step. I think some people just quickly watch something without paying too much attention, and then wonder why it didn’t come out quite right 😂 I used to hate Mokume Gane, because it never looked good to me. Now it’s one of my fave techniques, because it’s so versatile! ❤️
@@clayboutique I love it also and can follow my own plan. Just can't seem to get that butterfly look but I am determined. When it comes out well, I will post in Claying Along & tag you, ha ha!
Wow!! Absolutely gorgeous!! Love how these turned out! Definitely going to give your technique a try. Thanks so much for the fantastic tutorial! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! ❤
Wow, these are absolutely gorgeous! When I saw the pendant in the thumbnail at 1st, I could not figure out how you created it. It looks exactly like a butterfly wing! I typically don't gravitate towards mokume gane very often because, in all honesty, I tend to feel like it usually turns out a little too busy & childish looking for my taste. But this one though.. holy moly, it's BEAUTIFUL. It looks so classy & elegant while still maintaining those traditional mokume gane elements of fun & intrigue. I absolutely love what you did and I thank you so so much for sharing it with us!!
Thank you so much! I know what you mean about MG looking busy and childish. I steered away from it for a long time, for that reason! I love it, now. It’s so versatile!
@@clayboutique And you have now also shown me just how versatile & elegant it can look, and I thank you very much for that. I will also stop shying away from it, thanks to you!!
Jasmine I couldn’t have said it better myself!! Deb, I keep clicking on your tutorials and it seems like each time they turn out nicer and nicer! Your techniques are beautiful!
Those are stunning!!!❣️ I love your clay color combinations with the silver leaf on the translucent that you chose, it all works so well when contrasted with the black. Just so beautiful!!! Thank you so much for sharing 🙏 I look forward to trying this so I saved your tutorial 😁
Prettiest Mokume Gane I've ever seen! Well done! You could make butterfly wings this way along with abalone shell. I'm sure u know this. I'm going to try to make butterfly wings this way though! So pretty thanks!
Hello! That is so gorgeous! Can you tell me what that pretty black net ribbon that you strung the black mokume gane bead is called? thanx gorgeous work!
Thank you! I work on a tile. The one in this video is just a black, matte tile, but in other videos I’m working on a white, shiny tile. You can get them from Home Depot, if you’re in USA 😊
@@clayboutique Thank you so much! I am a clayer too here in the USA. I have a black tile and a white tile I have worked on. Right now I have a glass piece I work on but my light glares on the glass - not a good thing for videos. I got my tiles at Home Depot as well. I need to get a matte tile that is larger than the ones I have. You do beautiful work! Will be following you! If I use any of your techniques, I will give you the credit! God bless you!❤️
I learned a lot of stuff from your tutorials that help my claying in general. 👍 PS I also like the way you do the mokume game, too many fuss with it too much they put it through the pasta roller, they make too many indentations, and there is really no design. Also cutting out beforehand is a great idea. You've no idea how many tips I've gotten from you.

Lovely!
Very pretty it looks like a butterfly wing to me
It’s supposed to be a butterfly wing MG 😂
Very pretty 😍
Beautiful! I am just starting to make jewelry and i am wondering if you make the holes for the bails before or after its baked?
I use a hand drill after its baked.

Deb, the color combos looked great. Thanks
Wow beautiful. If you did it with blue, purple and green it would look like abalone ❣️
Ajoutez-vous une résine ou un vernis pour finaliser le bijou ?
Some are sanded and buffed, some have UV resin on them.
Can you tell me what UV resin you use ? Thank you 😍

Gorgeous! What did you bake them on? They look a bit curved.
Probably the side of a bowl!
Thank you ❤️
how do you stop your acrylic roller from sticking to the clay as mine seems to do that
I don’t do anything to it
@@clayboutique thanks, maybe I am too hard on my roller
amazing
😘
What do u use to polish your pieces
ruclips.net/video/doBK-lfSz3k/видео.html
Where do you buy your clay from? I can never find the colours you use
This is Premo. I just get it from the craft store
What are you using to burnish with? Card stock? Or just paper?
Card stock, but paper works, too.
Do you cover your finished work with resin or just sand and buff to get that finish?
I say what I do in the video.
@@clayboutique 😂😂😂 sorry was watching on mute
how long do you bake it??/
An hour
Is the copper a metallic clay? Thanks Deb.
Yes. I used Premo copper.
@@clayboutique - AWESOME! Thought so, but wanted to be sure - just ordered it. Thanks for all you help. :)

Yes, UV resin
