      Love this comment! Honestly, I think the combination of online shopping after a couple glasses of wine, and the beginnings of memory loss, definitely factor in here!

    Very interesting effects - I have always wanted to get a selection of nail foils to do things with and this is one of the mediums I wanted to use them with. I might have to just go ahead and get some. One thing that you probably do want to do if you're making jewelry to sell is to always finish off the pieces - file all the edges smooth before you decorate them and even make sure that all the pieces are not warped in any way - you may have to put some kind of weight on the pieces either before they bake or right after they come out of the oven to reduce warping. And maybe just use resin to glaze the pieces - glossy accents is okay, but I think the resin is much stronger and will probably last longer, plus - since the glossy accents and triple thick and diamond glaze and mod podge is water based - they will absorb water, re-hydrate, and dissolve if they get wet again. I love the different bails you used on the earrings. Anyway - it's fun to try all these cool things!

      Oh yes, they definitely need much more refined cleaning etc. in order for me to sell them.
      These were just some experiments to see what I could do with them.
      I agree that resin is the better, stronger option.
      I am on the lookout for a UV resin with no or low VOC's.

    Mod-podge dimensional magic is a good alternative to resin. Also glitter or mica powder or gems or tiny charms in the holes would look amazing I think. Awesome tutorial.

    Beautiful pieces! The nail foils did ok on raw clay? And the transfer gel baked ok? I thought you had to bake them first! Love the ones with the holes in them!

    • @LunarSunCreations
      @LunarSunCreations  9 месяцев назад +2

      Yes! It worked great! I didn't completely finish these pieces though.
      I have a dremel now and lots of wet/dry sandpaper as well, so the next ones will definitely have a more clean and polished end result! This was an awesome test run though!

    Hello, it looks beautiful, but I have a question: can we put such foil on a baked product? I ask, I'm making tracings on the cups, shaping the dress, ruffles and then baking the whole thing. Can I put it on raw polymer clay or will it work?

  • @beckyb4074
    @beckyb4074 Год назад +1

    I have glossy accents, yeah 👍. Yea, I've heard about the strong smell of the resin stuff, so definitely not a product I want to mess with. I'd never heard of nail foils before you. What other crafty ideas could they be used for? I've got some air dry clay that I wanted to make shapes out of, possibly for earrings. Thanks for sharing your experiments. God bless. Becky B

      Hi Becky!
      Well, since I have so many, I will definitely be experimenting more with them to see what else they can be used for.

    Hi Katia,
    Im new to your channel and polymer clay, so thank you for all your wonderful ideas. Could you tell me what your foil is please. Ive had a look online but there's so many. Some of the other channels ive seen, theirs has burnt or tarnished the pattern.
    Thank you.

    Hello Katia, I may have asked this question before, I can't remember. Where did you get the molds or cutters that you used for the shaped earring pieces you've made? Thanks in advance. I pray that you & yours (fur babies included) are all doing well. It's sure is super hot here this week, but last week we actually had 2 or 3 days that were really nice temps, especially for this time of year for us. Is it hot up there in northwestern Canada? Thanks for taking your limited time to share your ideas. Hugs to you and the fur babies. Take care and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas 😊

      It's so very hot here too!
      Most of my cutters are from Etsy.
      I'll have to take a look back to find the names of the shops I purchased from.
