The 12 volt socket has a very stiff spring. In about 30 seconds you can fix that. Just unscrew the 12 volt socket tip, take out the spring, compress it all the way with pliers and it will be smaller. Works amazing, I don't have issues anymore with my 12 volt socket.

I have followed the instructions to the letter and it just does not work on this ICECO GO20 model. Mine even came with it in Fahrenheit mode, it was supposed to default to Celsius. I did not try the app, I wanted to know how to do this from the machine itself. But the cooler does work fine otherwise, and it is very quiet and does seem well built. Is your home made solar generator still running a 35AH AGM battery? If so, about how long can you run this fridge before you need to charge your battery? By the way good videos, Thanks.
@@Jasonoid in my small van i only need and have room for a 20L. I currently have Alpicool C20. i run it as a freezer mode during daylight hours to leverage my solar (only 100watts). My freezer consumes about 40 watts on lowest temp and never turns off in a hot van, i wonder if the iceco 20L would be any any more efficient if used like tihs?
I run my Iceco off of a Ecoflow river pro 720 KW solar "generator". so on my first extended trip - I put in the 20 Q ICECO fridge freezer ran it at 35 degrees temp, , My Ecoflow will power it for 10 hours at night, with only losing about 12% charge in the box. I do have one big complaint - and that's with the Iceco refrigerator. even though the temp was set at 35 degrees, the readout showed the temp varying between 29 degrees and 39 degrees - that kind of temp swing (if it was really happening) is not the best scenario for keeping food cold and fresh. I tried looking at the settings - looking for some sort of tolerance range setting, but could not find any - either on the control panel on the fridge, or in the app .
I think the temps inside swing the most depending on how full the fridge is. Do you have a fridge thermometer inside showing the actual temp? The actual temp inside shouldn't vary that much VS what the display is showing.
And now there is the ICECO iCooler: First 3 in 1 Freezer for about the same price of the GO20. I think is has a similar capacity to the VL45, I might consider getting this new version instead. Good review.

I would suggest you have a large battery in your car just to make sure it can handle the extra load. Some cars come with TINY batteries these days. I upgraded my Honda Accord battery just for that reason, I have a video on it. I went on a road trip with my Accord and the fridge worked awesome. Just make sure you have a plug that is still powered on when the keys are turned off. Modern cars disable the 12 volt sockets to save power these days.
I have used it as a freezer, it works great as a freezer, it does consume more power the lower the Temps so you have to plan ahead if you are running off battery power. Car trips and hotel stays the freezer mode is perfect.
Thinking of getting a battery bank to power some of these electric fridges because when my car is off, there is no power to keep them cold. I have an Iceco VL60ProS and am getting one of these GO20’s because the VL60 is so huge and heavy. What would be a good size battery to handle either of those fridges for when the car is off overnight?
You left out one important fact can you run it off your 12 volt car battery over night and for how long before it kills your battery. 30 year refrigerator technician
Running it overnight wont run your battery down. It pulls 3amps at 12 volts at a 25% duty cycle. Only would use about 10-12AH of your battery. I had my larger fridge, my VL45, running off my battery for 4 days just fine. I started the engine to charge the battery once in the morning and once right before bed. Worked like a charm and that one uses slightly more power. I would recommend ICECO fridges because they are built super well. Thanks for watching, happy to answer any questions! New video coming soon comparing 11 fridges!
We will be on a boat and want to use this to make ice. Would this be able to get cold enough long enough to freeze water? I've seen report that it has a hard time holding 0 degrees. Online reads ice needs 0 degrees. Don't kow if ice will form at 10-15.
This one isn't the most insulated fridge so I think it would be hard to get that low in the heat. I'd recommend the Setpower RV45s or the ICECO VL45 for getting temps that low. Those fridges are a little bit bigger but you could use them for multiple purposes.
@@Jasonoid We're on a boat and already have a fridge. Space and energy consumption are huge factors. The 45 is simply too big. Looking for a solution for making ice. Don't want an ice making machine as they are energy hogs, serve 1 purpose and take up valuable space. Really want a small portable fridge that freezes. This is a big deal in the boating world. For those of us who only have access to ice when fueling which isn't often. Also I could sew my own insulated cover for the unit leaving the compressor open for ventulation.
I understand the unit will use more power in freezer mode. But in freezer mode will it use more amp draw. Another question will it cool down to 0 degrees using it as a freezer only without the divider?
No, the compressor just runs longer in freezer mode. Same amount of Amp draw, just cycles more frequently. I haven't tried running it that low personally, I'm guessing it wouldn't have an issue holding 10 degrees F.
Great thanks for your reply. I wasn't able to find any information on what angles it's safe to run at. Want to use in a sailboat and jeep. If you have any info on that it would be nice to know.
Hello Jason, The first video u did with ur father in law about all the fridg/freezer he had got me interested in the Iceco go20. I did just bought one in white. I was wondering about the temperature sensor on urs, does your temp gauge flexuate from the set setting? I'm testing mine inside on my Jackery 1000. Not on the road yet. I mainly plan on using the iceco go20 as a freezer. After letting the unit run for a while & setting at zero, I then fill the freezer 3/4 full with already frozen meat. The temperature seems to go from zero a few minutes then goes to 2 or up to 11F. Is that normal operation, do u know? I thought the temp would stay zero until I open the freezer to take something out. I hv a temperature gauge inside the iceco go20 and both reading matches. My meat stays frozen however. So it appears to be working. I also hv insulated cover on the iceco but left the vets open for airflow. Maybe the unit is not great for freezer use only and or that's the nature of the sensor letting me know its sence the temp has risen, but why? Thanks u for ur help, Lee
Hey Li, the fridge temperature swing is normal, my GO20 also swings a bit. As long as it stays within the "freezer range" your food will be safe. It's a matter of efficiency so that the compressor doesn't run quite as often. I haven't noticed any issues with my food during trips with that fridge. I love mine!
@@Jasonoid Thank you so much. Yes its stays in the freezing range. I love how this model look. When I first saw the review I was in love with it. lol On more question, is the battery in the app for a AGM type of charging? Since I use the Jackery, that battery app does not apply right? In my app it always say 100%. Thanks again!🤗
@@GHE2005 yeah, I love it too! As for the battery capacity on the app. You'll just have to use the meter on the Jackery. I'm guessing the output of your Jackery is regulated to always be the same voltage so you can't tell the capacity from the voltage.
@@Jasonoid The Jackey has a pure sign wave so I think it mean its regulated? lol I see how many watts its using on the Jackery. Sorry last question, hehe. I saw ur reply about the socket does not fit tightly, mine is the same. I can unscrew the socket like u are saying to do to fix the spring. I hv a red tip that I can undo but that does not get to the spring. I see a small screw that I can unscrew, is that where the spring is located? I can take a picture of my 12 socket on the iceco to send u if u can provide me an email? I don't want to undo the screw and screw up something. Mechanical electrical stuff on 12v I'm not all that clear about yet. One of theses days, I'm going to make that power box u made on ur video. That looks really awesome and functional. I like to hv that as a back up for my Igo20. 😊
@@GHE2005 I'm thinking you got a 12v socket that's not adjustable. Some are and some aren't, I may be wrong in the video but I have 1 type that you can adjust the spring. If you aren't having issues with it popping out just leave it as it is. If it keeps popping out and you plan to build a battery box, just cut off the cigarette plug and solder in Anderson power pole or a SAE connector, they are much better!
This fridge has an "auto" eco mode. If the temps gets far from the set point it jumps to max mode. If the temp is near the setpoint it uses eco mode. I think it's pretty cool.
The lid will not shut with a 1 gallon milk jug and I think the half gallon jugs are the same height, it has to sit on its side to fit. But it does fit!
With a 50 watt solar panel and sun it would last forever. When the days get cloudy and the sun doesn't come out it would last about 2 days then I have to run a generator or my truck with an inverter to charge it. These fridges are SUPER efficient!
I dislike all 12v cords because every socket is different and they have a risk of popping out. It's no different than any other 12v cord and works fine.
I am wondering how many watt hours does it consume for 24 hours if plug in 12v power station? I used eco flow power station which has 1260 watt hours. I tested it for 24 hours and this fridge consumed 50% of the power. Is this normal?
Some times batteries have less power than they advertise. Freezer mode will use much more power than fridge mode. Plan on about 24wh per hour if the temps aren't too high and it's in fridge mode. Freezer mode it's probably near 45 wh. Hope that info helps.
@@Jasonoid Thank you so much for your reply! I put just 1/3 of food in dual room to try. I used dual room. I put it in a room which room temperature is under 68. I set up -18 and 5 C. I guess it is normal for 50 watt/ hour.
@@Jasonoid It says for meat is -18 Celsius. And also I think the system preset up left room freezer is also -18 Celsius based on user guide. I should try to set up -5 Celsius and see how many watt hours will it consume.
@@tomatoada It will use much less power as it doesnt have to be so cold. I'd recommend 36F for the fridge side, and 22F for the freezer side. You will have to convert that over to Celsius, I hope that helps!

Can you put a gallon of water or milk in ?
No
Helppp. Will this first a regular milk jug. 2lsize
The lid will not shut with a 1 gallon milk jug and I think the half gallon jugs are the same height, it has to sit on its side to fit. But it does fit!
@@Jasonoid man you are awesome thank you!
hello
discount does not work for go20 :(
I'm sorry, it seems to only work on some models on their website. They currently have 25% off ALL ITEMS for blackfriday. Check out their website.
how long would your lead acid battery last on that fridge?
With a 50 watt solar panel and sun it would last forever. When the days get cloudy and the sun doesn't come out it would last about 2 days then I have to run a generator or my truck with an inverter to charge it. These fridges are SUPER efficient!
@@Jasonoid thanks! Your videos inspired me to build a solar generator with that fridge
@@HKSmr2rbo Love my solar generator, I use it all the time! Thanks for watching!
Any issues with the 12volt cord?
I dislike all 12v cords because every socket is different and they have a risk of popping out. It's no different than any other 12v cord and works fine.
I just bought this unit and it came with a new redesigned socket that doesnt fallout like before.
how much?
Prices drop under $400 in Amazon, keep an eye out on the lowest prices.
@@tomatoada why do you have it set so low? -18? Why not like -5 and 5?
@@Jasonoid It says for meat is -18 Celsius. And also I think the system preset up left room freezer is also -18 Celsius based on user guide. I should try to set up -5 Celsius and see how many watt hours will it consume.
@@tomatoada It will use much less power as it doesnt have to be so cold. I'd recommend 36F for the fridge side, and 22F for the freezer side. You will have to convert that over to Celsius, I hope that helps!
Customer service is so overloaded with calls while my food is going bad with malfunctioning 12volt cold!
What's wrong with it? There's not much to a cord.
Does the fridge even power on? Does it turn on but give an error code? Are you running it off your car 12v outlet or off 120vac?
Can't call it a review when it gets sent to you for free. You were paid by them.
I wasn't paid money, they just provided the fridge. My video provides much more information about the GO20 then most the others out there. If the fridge doesn't pass my testing the video doesn't get published and it gets sent back.
