Thanks for the great video. Do you have trouble opening the lid on the vl pro fridges? My parents (70s) have a hard time opening them because you have to hold in on the handle then lift. They prefer my dometic which is just a simple lift.
I truly appreciate the time and effort you put into your videos. I have learned a ton from watching and i know ill save a lot of money in the long run because I wont make some mistakes in buying the wrong items or setting things up incorrectly because of what Ive learned. You have definitely become my go to channel these days when it comes to solar among other things. You explain things well and its easy to understand while being very thorough and getting to information that is very useful in how products will actually perform. Your reviews of fridges helped me decide on which would work best for my needs and helped me land on this being the one to buy. Ill definitely be using your code so hopefully the kickback will add a little bit for you as well. You are incredibly thorough and get more in depth than just about anyone and the comparable grids are so extremely helpful in sorting the information in one easy to find spot. I also appreciate how grounded and down to earth you come off and it makes for an easy watch and makes me want to see this channel grow that much more. Thanks again for all your efforts and Im more than happy to try and support this channel as I hope you will continue to grow and the channel will thrive as im sure you work incredibly hard for us and you deserve all the success you can get.
Appreciate the very well done breakdown of the vl35. Did alot of reviewing on truck fridges and after this video I recently purchased this unit to take on getaways.
I hope you're not planning on using it as a freezer, the compressor is not powerful enough and the lid is not air tight. I just returned my 2nd unit after wasting my weekend testing and trying to get the temperature down to -18°C recommended for frozen meat and food. It simply doesn't go further down than -12°C and that's not half full with pre frozen bottles/jugs of water.
@@VancouverTrailShredders No i plan on using it as a fridge. That is why i chose a single zone unit. I am not sure this vl35 is capable in the specs to go down to -18 C. Have you tried Jason's function settings, i would choose 1 of Iceco's dual zone units if i was you pretty sure they are more than capable. I also did not want a dual zone unit as they consume quite a bit more power and i do not want to pack around my huge sogen. A few days at a time and a fridge that would tackle the job with rugged ness and build quality is what i spent many hours researching.
@armourofgod7588 I've been emailing back and forth for 2 weeks trying to solve things including different settings w/o any luck unfortunately. The dual zones are not 100% reliable, I've read too many issues.
Just got mine this week.I cooled it off with AC. Then I test charged it on a Bluetti 70s. It ran from Wednesday at 7pm til Friday at 7pm. Indoor test. Works great so far. Taking it on road trip tomorrow. Thanks
Great video as always. I'm a 12V fridge/freezer addict. I own 2 dometic cfx3 45's a 26qt Joytutus, and my latest acquisition is the Setpower 45s. I was considering the iceco but what sold me on the Setpower rv 45s was the 40º anti-shape function. Still testing it out, so far there seems to be about an 12º difference in internal temperature from the set temperature. I've put several bottles of water to freeze over several days and it has only frozen one, on the top shelf of all places. I set it as 20º so I need to lower the temp. Nice design and as I understand it is also manufactured by Iceco. The real surprise is the Joytutus I bought about 3 years ago. It is a real cheap unit which could use a better seal on the lid but otherwise I have had it plugged in for almost 3 years straight on freezer mode and the compressor keeps on running. Not bad for a unit I paid less than $230 for. Again great video, and thank you for your work.
Nice. This is another one of your videos that makes me wish I were in the market for the product being reviewed. I'll be taking my generic 37L compressor-cooler on a trip this weekend, powering it during the day from my Oukitel CN505 power station.
I bought this after using the Go20 b/c I needed a larger model. Excellent review...I am very pleased with the performance and power consumption. After arriving at the cabin, I power it with a EcoFlow Delta 2. Cheers!
Would get one of these iceco fridges with secop compressor for daily use in a vehicle, or with 2 separate lid sections to use one as freezer. Love the flexible lid. Need to get vehicle first for sizing. Your reviews and spreadsheet are really great to see what size and brands are energy misers (not the smallest ones out there!). Thanks.
I want a dual zone fridge like the ecoflow where you can store a divider in the lid, but I want a small fridge like this. Awesome review as always. A bit off topic, but just a follow up from my Elecaenta 120w woes. I've recently purchased a Powerness solarX 120w panel as a replacement and it's awesome! I have the newest version with the extra adapters and the newer panels. Here are the specs: Max power: 140w(omg) Max power current: 7.78 amp, yes 7.78 not 6.6 Max power voltage: 18v I lost the damn booklet but the open circuit voltage when cold tripped my Golabs R300 overvoltage protection at 23.5v so my guess it's around 24v open circuit when cold. I just put my hand over one of the panels to drop the voltage then plugged into the Golabs when the Golabs started charging and the voltage dropped more, I took my hand away. It was pumping in an indicated 60w into the Golabs at the 3amp current limit so with 5w added for losses on that little MPPT controller it was probably pumping in at around 22v at 3 amp. I had it up against a wall so I couldn't look at the panel LCD screen. In October in Toronto(alt 412m) with 652w/m2 solar radiation I was pulling 106w. Temps were around 70 F nice breeze which probably helped with the efficiency but considering this panel is tested at 1000w/m2 solar and I was getting 106w at 18.3v at 5.79amp at 65% of the tested solar radiation I think is awesome. It has an LCD screen on the back which tells you what the panel is pumping out in volts and amps for the DC USB-C and USB-A ports which to me is more of a gimmick but it's fun to look at and it may help beginners angle their panels for max power. The newest version comes with all the adapters unlike the older one. It has a magnetic clasp as well as the two inner panels fold onto themselves. I'm just putting it out there so maybe you can hit them up for a review as a community member found a gem. They have sizes 40w to 200w. I think it was about 10 or 20 bucks more than the Elecaenta but it feels WAY better quality especially the ETFE coating which on the 2 lemon Elecaenta's look like a child put it on.(I don't blame them, their supplier is at fault) Just a head up for the community as there is almost no reviews on it except some crazy German in Australia and in Europe and they are just plugging it in and go "Hey it works". And it's all the older model not this new one. Maybe hit them up and see if they'll send a panel or two for testing. They still market it as a 120w panel so I'm wondering if this is another XT100 gem which gets OVER what it's claiming(120w) under ideal conditions. One guy on Amazon claimed he got a max of 135w which is probably a fluke in the summer. Oh and it has a 2 year warranty not the standard 1 year. Test it damn you! Test it! 🙂

There is definitely a difference between a cheaper plastic fridge and a heavier duty metal fridge. Usually product price translates over into customer support and warranty. If you plan to use a fridge while camping or off-roading throughout the year, something more durable will definitely hold up better over time. If you just have the fridge sitting around at your house, you probably don't have to worry about durability as much. Stay away from the Glacier! I retuned two units, got my refund and ran. Not that you had plans on doing so, also stay away from Iceco, especially this model. It can't even go down to -18°C with already frozen bottles of water inside, It gets stuck at -12°C with a non stop running compressor that tries to get it 6°C colder. Now I know why I can't find reviews/test of Iceco fridges that actually been used as a freezer, simply because it fails to do so. I tested two units at room temperature, neither were able to go down to -18°C so both were returned for yet another refund!
@Jasonoid would you recommend either of those over the ecoflow unit? That one was still on sale for under $800 last I looked which seemed kind of in line if slightly more expensive and the vacuum insulation seems to work equally well as bulkier units 🤔. @Jasonoid I thought the ice maker would also work if you just plugged it into a 110 outlet? So if I were at a campground where I would actually be using the ice or if I had the additional capacity with the capability to recharge I could just plug it into the 110 outlet on a Delta 2 Max (shortlisted possible all-in-one camping trip power supply).
@Jasonoid I've tested two units in the last 2 weeks and neither were able to go further down than 10F. When it looses power temperature goes up to 30F within an hour. I thought there was something wrong with the first unit but the second had the same issue. Even with complete frozen jugs of water the temperature didn't go below 10F
@Jasonoid this was tested at room temperature, don't even want to know how it wouldn't perform mid summer when it should live in my truck 24/7 So unfortunately, I passed on testing a 3rd one, just ended getting a Dometic. Thanks for replying!
The perspective of the first shot made these both look massive. Thee things are interesting. I don't like the buttons but I like that AC input. The brick is annoying
What I really want to know is how long it takes out the box to get from ambient temp to fridge temp! Just got mine and it’s been over 3 hours and it still says 47 degrees
Had an iceco VL45ProS and it broke early. Got sent a new one and the 2nd unit didn’t last either since it stopped going under 34 degrees and would drain my Detla 2 power station. They also aren’t very responsive with their warranty. Built quality isn’t that great. Would not buy an Iceco again.
How were you using them? Two of them broke?! I had friend who had his fridge just rolling around in the back of his truck on a bumpy dirt road and it stopped working too. I have tested and used like 10 of these and they are all still going strong with family I've given them to 🤷
It's much more narrow which is hard to see from the video. The height and width are similar. The exact internal and external dimensions are on their website for reference.
Self liked comment... Nothing in life is free man. What do you think the 120 hours of testing the product costed me? What do you think the filming and the editing of the video costed me? They didn't pay me a penny for this video. Definetly lost money on the deal...

@@VancouverTrailShredders I test at both 70F and 85F but either way, Dometic will work well for you I'm sure 👍
The perspective of the first shot made these both look massive. Thee things are interesting. I don't like the buttons but I like that AC input. The brick is annoying
HAHAHA, I guess when the camera is back that far it kinda gives a fishbowl perspective that stretches things out.
I have noticed (might have missed it) that your reviews never reference Jackery power stations ?
I tested the Jackery 2000 plus, it did great in my testing. I'm also testing a newer model coming up soon!
Does anyone have a fix for the E3 error code?
Email ICECO support, they will let know what to do or start the warranty process.
What I really want to know is how long it takes out the box to get from ambient temp to fridge temp! Just got mine and it’s been over 3 hours and it still says 47 degrees
Usually 20 minutes or less, that's odd it's taking that long.
@@Jasonoidseems to be doing okay now maybe it just needed some time to get things flowing I don’t know 🤷
@@unounv good to hear!
Hey. Do you know if iceco fridges can be stored for the winter in a seasonal cabin with temps 0 or below?
Yep, they work fine if powered off and stored at cold temps
Had an iceco VL45ProS and it broke early. Got sent a new one and the 2nd unit didn’t last either since it stopped going under 34 degrees and would drain my Detla 2 power station. They also aren’t very responsive with their warranty. Built quality isn’t that great. Would not buy an Iceco again.
How were you using them? Two of them broke?!
I had friend who had his fridge just rolling around in the back of his truck on a bumpy dirt road and it stopped working too.
I have tested and used like 10 of these and they are all still going strong with family I've given them to 🤷
The 35 seems huge relative to the 60, considering it's 35 vs 60.
It's much more narrow which is hard to see from the video. The height and width are similar. The exact internal and external dimensions are on their website for reference.
👍
Because it’s free !! Just like the first one. Positive reviews keep the free products coming.
Self liked comment... Nothing in life is free man. What do you think the 120 hours of testing the product costed me? What do you think the filming and the editing of the video costed me? They didn't pay me a penny for this video. Definetly lost money on the deal...
I'd say time is more valuable than money sometimes. Jason's wife here 🙋♀️. I'll be the first one to tell you all how much time, effort, and energy Jason puts into this channel all while working a full time job and helping me raise a family. There are a lot of sacrifices made. But hey, at least you got "free" information just by watching his videos.
