Great video… but man those sound effects every 5 seconds made it hard to watch. Anyway, let me add one tip: make good use of the multiple viewing angles. I use Zwift on a computer and keep the keyboard within reach, I know which number keys will give me certain angles so I can flick between them quickly. For example the bird's eye view is incredibly helpful for understanding how much the rubber band is stretching, how far off the back is too far and also how far the chase group are. The default angle is a compressed view so you may be treading on thin ice more than you realise. Big warning though, the 1 key (default angle) is VERY close to the Escape key which brings up the menu screen and so I've fat-thumbed my way out of race contention on a couple of occasions!
I am an OG with Sufferfest (now Wahoo Systm) so I have avoided Zwift like it was a disease, however, am seriously considering using it next Winter season just for the racing element to inject more intensity, motivation and variety into the off season. Thanks for another fantastic video Brian!
Sweet Shawn let’s race! I really like SUF back in the day too. Looking forward to what Wahoo turns it into eventually. Zwift is just got so many elements to it. The racing is extremely engaging
You’re welcome. But it appears RUclips does not like my idea very much. Tried 6-7 videos with that approach and they all died. I guess it makes sense but as a user I hate those interrupt ads! I tried brother - I tried! 😂
Good stuff! You mentioned it at the end, I would like to hear more about setup. I feel like ever since I switched to Bluetooth from ANT+ the trainer to game is less responsive.
funny - we chatted a long time about set up after filming. I'll have to invite Zach back after Worlds to discuss his set up. Mine is mainly AppleTV with a Saris Hammer H3 using BT primarily and I have never had a drop.
@@BrianDavisraces That’s good to know. I’m on Apple TV as well, Wahoo Kickr. Maybe it’s just my internet, router, lack of skill, tiny legs etc…I’ll have to keep working on it.
Brian, the "A: in the Tour de Zwift just represented that it was the long ride option, not the rating of the rider. I'm cat. C but had the "A" on the TdZ rides/races.
Hello, I would like to know if you could help me with a specific question. When I'm on group rides, for example with the robopacer, is there any way for the souce to constantly tell me how far the robopacer is? Thank you very much
Nice video with good tips. I'll try delaying the ramp up until 1-2 sec to go. I want to know how you won an A circuit race with an average of only 3.6 w/kg! 3:20
Very small field and focused on not working and not attacking. Afterwards I recalibrated and will again before the next race. Everything seemed fine but yeah I was a bit skeptical myself.
Constructive feedback only: The screen transitions were really distracting making it hard to follow the tips at times for future edits maybe give that one a miss. Enjoyable watch otherwise :)
Greetings, what is the name of the training board that Zac's bike is on in the video? I have seen those before and like how the seem to mimic the motion of road riding. Thanks
I think he’s on a Saris MP-1 but generically the concept is called a “rocker plate”. There’s a bunch of ways to build one yourself or some manufactured ones like the Saris exist but they’re spendy. People seem to love em
I know some people consider nearly every ride a “race” but Tour de Zwift wasn’t a true race - too each their own. If i’m doing anything other than a true race, I’m only racing against myself trying for PRs on the climbs and sprints
@@BrianDavisraces Sorry, I thought everybody but me knew about the "mooo", lol. It is something that the Zwifters keep saying in messaging, when I join a group ride. I think it's some form of greeting, but not sure what it really stands for and I can't find an answer on Zwift or Google anywhere.
@@pebbsc69 maybe Herd club riders: The Herd is a very supportive group, created with a focus on compassion and encouragement. All Zwifters are welcome to join! Looking for some company while riding on Zwift? Team members often ride together in big non-Herd events such as Fondos. Marius explains, “We will hang back at the gates for 2 minutes before we ride out together. You’ll often see us shout MOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! in the in-game chat.”
I have seen where people take advantage of the power delay to get recovery. You can spool up your cadence and when you see like 500w you can stop pedalling and take a little breather before it registers 0w/cadence. You can also time this with cornering for free positions. Coast into the corner and then at the apex you spike your power and it will sling shot you out. Such a fun game.

Lulz on the esc button but yeah that’s a great tip. Never thought of that before. Love it. Very smart! Thx for sharing with everyone #toptip
I left the video the sound effects were so annoying!
It’s the little nuances that aren’t known. Like Nehr said: -3% and 37 mph = supertuck. I’ll be watching these more. Appreciate the tips!
Hes got lots of those little gems, 5 watts here and there add up over those races.

How is Zwift going for you?
Nice video, Brian. I know the Ad revenue isn't great so interested to see how the no pre-roll add helps with the vid views etc
I'm hooked on zwift!
I can't imagine we used to just ride in the basement staring at walls...oh man, I love Zwift
Great tips, now to put them into practice thanks Brian and Zach 👍
Thx for the positivity! Good luck racing. See you out there
Thank you for no ads

Very informative, thx !
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome Video, the Sound for Tipps is a bit to high. Gf was asking what the fuck im doin haha. Content is Gold, keep it up my men
Thx for the feedback. I really messed this audio up. I’m a mess. Lolol. Most of the time I’m much better with it

‘preciate the comment Anthony. 💪
Hello, I loved that oscillating base that you have under the bike. what is this called and where can i get one?
Thank you and happy riding
I think Zach is on the rocker plate from Saris. Spendy but people love it
at 9:00, that's tour de zwift, A category just means long distance (and not necessarily ability)
Thx. Yeah I did not realize that. Good to know.
thank you for the lack of ads
I tried! I think yt doesn’t like that so the views get throttled? Who knows but worth experimenting with

oh thats super interesting - did not know that!

My absolute pleasure. Thx for the comment Ben

Good question. I’m not sure. I’d hit up Zwift Insider on Facebook for that question I think
legend for the ads!
I tried - but YT made it VERY clear they don’t serve ads from small timers without FULL ads. LAME

Nm read the comments and found it
thank you
Just did the super tuck on a London loop. 1 min of recovery.
Heavenly! Well played.

Yeah I just jumped into the wrong event. Sure felt like a race but it was the wrong event - my bad
You know someone is pro when their warm up is longer than your workout!
his numbers scare me...sheesh!
I did the three ;)
Sweet. Hope it helped!
nice
comment for the comment god!
This is the way! Thx. Lol. So perfect.

Got any tips to add of your own? How about....what do you eat before a zwift race?

Such a fun game.
Make sure to always have a BM before your race.
What's a BM ?
@@carstenjensen6654 I'm pretty sure he means 💩 - LOL
I don't want rules before I open a chat box. Tf
I just learned how to swipe the chat notices away from the mobile app. Game changer when not racing
You can cheat with e-bike
This is true.
