  • The Skyeship Express Gondola is a system of two gondolas that provide lift service from Skyeship Base on Route 4 to the top of Skye Peak. The stages meet up at the bottom of the Needle's Eye trail, where cabins can either be turned, or interlined onto the next stage. Two other lifts, the Needle's Eye Express, and Northbrook Quad, also begin there. While it's an old lift, it has low hours for its age, and is one of the fastest lifts in the region.

Nothing beats that view of Skye Peak and Needle's Eye when you crest the last breakover.

I wonder if any of the old machinery from the old gondola is in the old angle station?

All gone, just the parking rails for Skyeship in there now.

Interesting that you weren't able to get off at the station between the first and second stages. Was there a reason?

You can get off there. I just chose to ride all the way to the top.

If you park your car at this lodge do you take the gondola back at the end of the day or ski back?

You ski back down Great Eastern at the end of the day. No need to download.

I’ll be here next week for a long weekend… wondering how often and what time of day this lift is likely to run full speed as I would like to catch it running at full speed

If there's no wind then expect it to run at least 1100.
