Hi, Sheri. Cool idea, and you did a great job with them. Using a wood stirring stick will cause microbubbles. Think of the pores in wood that contain air. That's why wood floats. When the stick goes into resin, that air escapes. Put some resin in a vacuum chamber to get rid of all the bubbles. Then put a wood stick in it and let it sit for 5 minutes. You'll see a lot of bubbles created from the stick alone.
What a knockout!. Absolutely drop dead gorgeous.
These look so easy to make. And they are very beautiful! I think this is something I might try.
Love this idea. I would want to use T-lights or votives. Thank you for the share. 🤗
Yes you could definitely use tea lights
Very clever. I am going to do this for sure. 👍👍👍
Absolutely beautiful love them ❤️ very good instructions. Thank you for sharing.
I never would have thought of doing that. That’s amazing!!! Thanks for sharing!
INTERESTING video, i also make candles, I have the problem of cleaning wax of the bowl and jug, any ideas to get then clean quick, Sheri
I love these. Do you think I could use plastic glass a ? Or would it melt
love your video's. Your smile is also so mesmerizing..
Beautiful! Can’t wait to try it
Those are stunning...Will definitely be making these in the future!!
Can you make the outside container fully resin and have only the small glass inside?
They are both beautiful. I’ll have to try this someday.
They look so pretty! But wont the heat affects the resin ??
You can use heat resistant resin... Which is also used for making coasters 😁 hope this helps
@@Claytonsoutandabout THERE IS NO SUCH THING.
@@-kohakuma- Actually there is...All brands of resin are different tho. I don't know what other brands are but I use KSResin on my coasters and it has a heat resistance of 475 degrees. For a project such as this I would say the higher the better just to be safe.
This is a awesome tutorial thank you for this so easy to follow
They are amazing love your channel totally inspiring!!!
Hi Sheri, I had that idea with what you are doing in this video, my question is would the inner glass candle while burning affect burning the resin on the outer wall? I did ask someone about this in a group about having a bottom resin layer without putting the wick anywhere near it they responded with no. Is doing it this way you are doing it ok for burning a candle on the inside?
They both are so pretty
These are amazing just found you & subscribed just from this video ! X
Congratulations, both are looking very beautiful!!!!👍🥰
Hello Sheri. Thank you so much for this video. I am a florist and am going to make one of these for a bride and friend of mine out of some flowers I kept back from her bouquet and have pressed. I live in the UK. Are you able to help me with when I can buy suitable gel from to make this candle? Thank you in advance!
Love these they look great
Hi. I am a new subscriber.Love watching your video.Thank you for sharing your techniques.
I am trying to find answer if I can use stamping wax for making candles? I read somewhere that stamping/sealing wax contains resin...but I would appreciate your advice on it
Beautiful ! Such a good idea ! ❤️
Hi so is it a certain resin to use for the candle as far heat? For burning the candle?
Yeah same question which resin to use which is heat resistant
great video I would like to leave an open spot in the resin to put in a candle... I have seen the mold on Amazon that you can make pretty candle holders but they are only for tea lights. I would like to be able to make one that holds bigger candles
Hi, what are the moulds called on amazon, thank you x
You could try a plant pot mold or pencil pot that’s what I have and it’s perfect
Can the candles be poured directly in resin container?
Look good. I like your VDO.
how cute! I love this idea for resin candles!
Thank you! Cheers!
Oh I missed this one! So fun cool!
They are beautiful, they would look beautiful for the center tables for my wedding. And great as a take away token . 🥰
Omg I think I had that same exact Ariel cup in the 90s 😳🥺
I think every 90's kid did 😂
@@sherivegasartist what size jars did you use?
These are so gorgeous I’m in love love 💓
Thank you
Hi Sheri could you tell us what are the sizes of your glasses please?
Hi they lovely, but what size glasses do you use?
Did you use normal glasses please? Thank you for sharing - as always your amazing. Sending lots of positive energy.
its best to use gel wax. I followed all the instructions she has given in the video and both of my resin candles cracked. resin expands when it’s exposed to heat which is dangerous. be safe.
Thank you so much. Have a week filled with positive energies. Regards Lee
Excellent Sheri
Beautiful! What oz jars are you using?
Can you do the same thing with Candle Gel on the outside?? Will it get hard like the resin??
No, it will still be jelly. It won't get hard like resin does.
@@wileycovington4497 I’m trying to decide which one I should go with here. How can it work for shipping my candles to my customers? Would you recommend resin or the Gel?
@@DJLanta I'd say resin. If you ship some place where the temperature will be above 80° you'd only run the risk of the resin mishaping. The jell on the otherhand, I would think would get very soft or even liquidate.
@@wileycovington4497 good point!! I spent all this money on Gel Wax though 😂
@@DJLanta keep those for local sales that you can hand deliver.
Can you rinse the wax off your cups down the drain?
Is it ok, to have them burning inside with resin around... won’t it have any effect on the resin ?
i wouldn't trust it !
Jane Taylor - exactly ... was not sure so wanted to clarify
That's what I thought as well, resin will melt if it'll exposed to extreme heat
@@AnyaandKharim hiya, im also a resin artist and no it wouldn't melt, if you use heat resistant resin, then its not an issue at all. it really depends on the type of resin used.
The flame can get to 1000°F
Love it!
can resin be replaced by gel wax
I will definitely try this and perfect for my give aways on my 50th birthday party
They are a perfect gift to giveaway
It's beautiful!❤❤❤❤❤
Tyfs! GREAT!
Where can I find the double jars?
Where do you purchase the scents for the candles?
Now I want to make this!
Can you explain what resin is?
Very beautiful
Love them
Love this!
I love them
lovely
Love at first sight. You are so beautiful.
New sub here!! I love your candles!!
Love it!!! Your awesome!!!😍😊❤
Aww thank you 😊
I would like to know what kind of resin is being used in this project thanks
I’m pretty sure I used make art crystal cast
Is resin a kind of wax?
Bit of a cheat but could I put a T-light in the central holder ? Thanks 🦆💕
Yes you definitely could
Beautiful projekt ❤️🇩🇰
But epoxy melts with heat. Won't it warp?
Use heat resistant resin 😁 hope this helps
@@Claytonsoutandabout theres no such thing. Just use candle gel
@@-kohakuma- Does candle get hard like the resin?? I am confused?
For this do we have to use epoxy resin or polyester resin?
Even I want to know
Omgg I can’t wait to try!!
Was it hard to take the inside glass out?
You don’t you leave it in.
Is your temperature in Celsius?
What resin brand did you use for here Sheri?
I used make art resin casting resin. It’s a Gold Coast brand but I think there casting resin is launching next week
Thank you ❤
Beautiful! ❤❤❤
Brilliant idea. X
Great idea thanks Sheri
Thank you for watching and commenting
what size jars did you use?
They are resin candle jars not “resin candles”
GW464 is the best use (This has replaced Ecosoya Q210 Soy Wax) be sure you only put candle safe scents & at the right fragrance load temp, it’s best to use the double boiler method to melt the wax.
But they look nice
I'm still confused. What?
I use soy wax why dose mine crack when drying please let me know
Can you pour the wax into the resin without the glass? Or will that burn it?
It will melt
it’s best to use gel wax. i followed the instructions in the video & both of my resin candles cracked. resin expands with heat. be safe.
Your incredible xx
Yeess! Good idea 👍🏻
👍👍👍
Beautiful
When you say 2:1 resin. 2 part A and 1 part B? Or vise versa?
Depends on the brand
Aren't resin and dried flowers and leaves flammable?
resin isnt flammable when dried. But I still do not think this is a good idea. its a harmful toxin and shouldnt be around flames considering the toxins it can release when being heated
@@simoneh8464 Hmm. Good point. Since the time I asked the question until you answered it now I'm not even in the same stratosphere of projects right lol. So it doesn't matter anymore but I appreciate your response.
Where is this master class you speak of?
What was confetti?
So cute!!
Can anyone tell me how to get the smaller glasses that go inside the jar?
candle supplies places should sell small an large jars
@@sherivegasartist Thank you so much! I picked some up from Hobby Lobby this morning.
Ahkm to.♥️
Hi I have a doubt…
Won’t the resins melt as the candle burns away
Are those real flowers? Im trying hard to learn but you dont reply.
First comment
You're actually confusing resin candle with forever gel candles. You basically burn the wax on inside glass and everything outside of the inner glass never gets burned up. This is where you add your decor. Its always been how forever gel candles are made. The problem with resin is its forever and if you mess up or want to change, you can't. But you can with clear candle gel. Just do gel love ♡♡♡
That would be a waste of wax. Just considering she only poured wax in the middle of the candle so I’m sure she knows resin is forever and that it won’t be getting melted
No, that IS casting resin. She needs to wear gloves and a respirator though.
S T U N N I N G
Ive never seen a candle with another cup inside
Looks like you didnt need the skewers
Thank you for wearing gloves and it sounds like a mask lol !!! So many people are doing these videos without showing that you need protection and I just can't take those people seriously. I don't want to learn from somebody that's not taking the proper percussion when you're using industrial-grade chemicals. Thank you for showing you have gloves on!
Agreed. There are a lot of people out there not being careful. However, I would point out that some resins are VOC free and therefore don’t require you to wear a mask while working with them. I am also fortunate enough to also be able to work outside nearly all year around (and I generally don’t do a pour on a day where the weather isn’t good enough), so fumes aren’t an issue for me. Don’t discount someone and their abilities just because they’re not wearing a mask.
@@JudiHodgkin im not sure about that. Ive done alot of research and taken afew safety classes within the past 2 years I've never heard of a resin that's safe not to wear a mask. I've always been told you're working with an industrial grade chemical that when mixing part A and Part B causes a chemical reaction and you should never ever use resin without gloves, mask and full sleeves to prevent Burns, from getting in your mouth or your eye's also to prevent breathing in toxic fumes. You may have the fortunate ability of being outside but there are many people that are not and they're doing it even in their living room with their kids nearby. I have never read that it's safe to use without a mask. Resin products contain chemicals that are known to cause cancer. Just because you can't smell the chemicals doesn't mean they're not there or that is safe. You should always wear a mask especially due to long-term exposure. You wont get sick right away...
@@JudiHodgkin I own my own business where I work with resin on a regular basis I have to be informed on the products I'm using or that I'm exposing my employee's to. I have searched everywhere and I've never found a resin says it's safe not to where a mask. They may neglect to tell you to wear a mask on the products packaging.. but when you go online and look up the product it says specifically to wear proper PPE.
Great information but dam you cute asf!! Lmao
Thank you on both
Big can,
You still dont explain your methed of measuring. Plus you use bowls, not candle jars
Japanese candle makers I think is the pioneer of this candle holder making. It’s been around for years now the candles they’re making are all over the net, so totally not a new idea.
I did say that. I got the inspiration from a cup then when I looked it up on Pinterest I saw others had too.
