The gov has surplus that they do dispose of. When I worked for a small town in southeastern Arizona 🌵, I was a screener for the City. So I could go to Davis Monthan in Tucson and acquire surplus for the city. Everything from pool tables to pickup trucks. I don’t think the city manager would have been amused had I come back with a tank or howitzer.!! 😁

Hey it's possible!! I had a friend that picked up a brand new half million dollar yacht for 80k. Folks bought it. Brought it home. Left the fish door open. Tide came in. Boat went down. He bought it at the dock from the insurance company. Refloated it. Had it towed to a yard. Pulled it out of the water. Dried it out, drained and changed the oil. New batteries and stuff. Got it running and brought it home to Florida and He did a Renovating an Abandoned Yacht IRL. It was freaking Nice when it was done.

Now if it was the Coast Guard then yes when they suspect a crime has/is being committed such as smuggling/trafficking but generally they would not be rude as to just come on to the boat as they would wait to be invited if no crime has been committed. The problem is it's the sheriffs department and they are generally the source problem in law enforcement, They think they get to do as they please whenever they please and if anybody crosses them they bully and harass you until you either leave or do something to protect yourself so they can use it to arrest you. With everything going on now days I would have had a gun at the ready and not invited them on to the boat and if they forced it I would have considered it an attack on me and the family and put them down.
Greenhelix5 They can ask if they can board and if the owner of the boat says yes then they can board the boat. Clearly no one present felt threatened by or afraid of them. Seems more like it was more of a way to meet Matt in person and not a search of the boat. Even cops can be star struck.

hey Matt if your going to get a boat here is a list of sailing terms.
port side=left side easy to remember port and left both have 4 letters.
starboard side=right side, both sides you facing the bow.
bow=front point area of boat.
stern=rear of boat.
deck=floor.
overhead=ceiling.
bulkhead=wall
keel=bottom most center line from bow to stern.
motor boats have short keels sail boats have deep keels.
mast=tall post to support sails vertically.
boom=horizontal pole to support main sail horizontally.
It gets the name boom because that's the sound it makes when it hits your head lol.
weather deck=any deck open to weather.
hull=the shell from keel to weather deck.
waterline=the level of water on your hull, it can differ based on load.
scuttle a boat or ship=large ships and some boats have valves under the water line to purposefully sink a vessel, when no valves use explosives a little goes a long way when scuttling a ship.
scuttlebutt=drinking fountain sailors would hang out around the scuttlebutt and discus rumors around ship.
scuttlebutt new definition=simply rumors now.
