Courage 2 is the long-awaited sequel to Courage. In this game, our protagonist is a world-renowned pogo stick champion, apparently. Thanks for watching!
Is this how characters in South Park sees the world when they're walking?
Ha, that actually made me laugh.
I'm really impressed this guy is able to talk while walking like that. One would expect him to bite his tongue or something.
***** He has some real courage...maybe that's why it's called courage, or maybe it's because you have to brave the pogo walking.
Hanako Ikezawa we all must embrace the Pogo stick one day.
When I find an abandoned asylum in the middle of the forest at night, I also pull out my trusty square-wheeled segway.
GorilladactylRex omg i'm dying
Cool name. How’d you come up with it?
@@objectifymutahar1869 I just really like gorilla glue, dactylitis and stereotypical dog names
@@GorilladactylRex is that really the truth? Sry 4 the l8 reply I was doing laundry
@@objectifymutahar1869 I needed a name to post a video a few years ago so I smashed in the first thing I thought of. That's all there is too it really.
I have a theory on why the constant bouncing. The creator must of put the playable character to close to the floor that it's actually clipping through the floor. Every time you move, your character tries to break out of the clipping, only to be brought back into the clipping which is whats creating the hopping............... but hey that's just a theory, A Game Theory!
Holy shit maybe you are right nice observation
4 years late here, but after making my own games my guess is that the developer added a math function to add "bounce" to walk, then scaled down the entire environment and changed the walk speed but forgot to readjust the frequency of the bounce. ruclips.net/video/lBqxcznu9T8/видео.html
If they were clipping through the floor wouldn't they have just, fell out of the world? Anything with gravity enabled would've just yeeted itself into the void, it's probably just too much bounce/headbob like the comment above me stated
Not really a theory.
I have a theory that the protagonist of this game is a jackhammer
qbeck11 omg i can't stop laughing hahaha
Or a Worm on a Pneumatic Drill.
I have a theory that the creator of this game is a jackass
Goldberg?
"There's a link in the description if you want to play it yourself!"
And...why would I want that?
Citizen Kane Because it's the best Pogo Stick Simulator ever made ?
Citizen Kane It's more something I feel obligated to say lol
But why would you want to pass up on this one?!
HarshlyCritical Because I don't feel like playing a horror game staring Michael J Fox.
Citizen Kane this comment was severely underappreciated.

You're basically playing as a human vibrator XD
Human Vibrator Simulator
.....I need this game!!!
Daichi The developer should put that on the box cover.
+ChelZemi The goal of the game is to reach the end of the level, with a person riding on your back. If the person orgasms then... uhm... a bomb explodes. Because reasons.

"Pound for pound this is the most jump scares I've seen so far! This is a pretty good game and shows there are some some talented people in the indie community."
Ok, with this I can conclude that this guy doesn't know the meaning of the word talent
Caio Henrique Was that an actual review on the IndieDB page? Wow.
HarshlyCritical Well, you know what these reviews tend to be like.

+John Smith hi tumblr
I assume that the main character was riding on a jackhammer the entire time, and it just wouldn't run outside, so he didn't use it then.
I'm sorry, I just can't see how someone could "proudly present" such an unfinished and nearly unplayable game. I mean looking at this literally makes me feel sick.
So, I think that your character's feet got trapped below the floor. The game is trying to fix that by pulling you above the floor, but since the floor is treated as solid, it doesn't let you, hence the bouncing effect.
Leon Yeah, that makes sense. Just constant clipping through the floor haha
Hehe, yeah that was killing me.
Leon There's also a common glitch in unity games where they implement a head bob, however the default script is so old it usually gets fucked up on different platforms and resolutions.
This game is rated 7.8/10.
Let's just think about that for a moment.
_"7.8/10 Too many jumpscares"_ ~IGN
Sorry ;-;
***** People sure like pogo sticks.
And half-ass voice acting, google translate, over used assets, cheap jumpscares, lazy stories, and overall pathetic development. But maybe I'm just nitpicking. .
Below Xero You OBVIOUSLY have never made a video game!!!! GOSH HOW CAN YOU CRITICIZE?
***** ;)
I don't see how the creator can watch this and DISCREDIT what you say. This is evidence lol.
Scary cool girl
The reviews for this game disgust me, saying how it's so "awesome" it's pathetic :I this 'horror' game needs criticism so it can at least improve.. And if the game creator can't handle criticism then they shouldn't make or create games u_u I hate how some people will be like "don't listen to deh haters they just jelly" NO, PEOPLE, COME ON, the only way people can improve is by practice and criticism, without good criticism then you won't know what to work on and what you need to improve on /)_(\ idk sorry for my rant, just this type of stuff where a game gets unworthy praise really peeves me
FearTheEyes Most of these comments are from generic fake-reaction Let's Players that want to advertise their shit by rating the game up and linking their videos right after a _"HOLEE CARP TIHS GAEM IS SCURRY AS BALLZ AND IT MADE ME POOPY ME PANTS NOW WATCH MY SHIT AND SUBSCRIBE"_. At the same time, all comments in this site have to be approved first, so any comments with actual criticism will probably get deleted.
This is almost as bad as those .exe games on Gamejolt :l
FearTheEyes half of the positive reviews are probably from the dev's themselves.
+FearTheEyes What more can I say..wel said. This was my second game I've created and it actually sucked
This is perhaps the first game I've ever played where the player character vibrates almost continually.
"I need to find my way ot of this asylum!" *bv-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v*
This game is killing me with the walking and how the flashlight is like that.
Alex is clearly suffering he's shaking so much poor child shouldn't have left his class for rare plants
This is just amazing. How did no one notice this bouncing up and down while walking before posting the game? And most of these developers, and I use that term loosely, expect us to believe they put in any real effort?
I love how he always reads the bad english in the games for verbatim in his vids lol. Hella funny.
"This was absolute fantastic!! You really keep your promise when you said you'll do the sequel a lot better than the first one. WOW! :D I am a great fan of the series and continue on man! Don't mind the critics! You're really doing a good job.
9/10 because overall this was like one of the best horror games I played. One thing that just bothers me is that the difficulty. Are you mad or something? Hahaha joke! Anyways, I completed the game and made a walkthrough of it. Hope you don't mind I posted it there. Thank you and God bless you always!"

"I shivers my skin. :)
great game, and i know you'll develop more into it.
Good job man, The Jumpscares, the phantoms, mazes.
Totally legit. And i hope to see more future releases :)"
Some reviews I found. First one was 9/10. Second was 10/10
+fleabagrusty I'm guessing both were from Let's Players. Eyeroll. GameJolt and IndieDB are full of that type of stuff. "Wow, great game, I really love it! Here's my video: X"
+HarshlyCritical Yeah. Both were from IndieDB. Thankfully this isn't on Steam..
I tried to watch it, i really did... but walking like your ankles are made of springs and slinkies really put me off.
Not even a minute in and already a grammatical error. I can tell this will be good
Yes.
jMadAvenger More like... oh I already lost count.
John Lancaster lol yeah
Y
Jesus, I lost it at the "pogo-mode" John, but when you said this game's better than the first...while seizure-walking around...it really sunk in how hilariously awful it was. Thanks for having the courage to play this. ;)
Oh god. It's the same stock scream from every *Gmod* horror map ever. Look at the spooks.
Maybe he just has really bad hiccups.
The gothic dude with the lipstick popping up got to be the lamest jump scare I've seen - but man lol the Pogo Stick comment made me laugh sooo much.
If coming was only soo easy, there'd be more flashlights around ;)

Hello fancy hat
H-hello!

OH MY GOD! I just about shat myself at the jumpscares that pop up in your face and then dissappear without a trace as if they weren't even there. So scurd.
What motivates people to make horse shit like this game?
JamesRodgers25 Amateurs, I suppose. Eh, not meant as an insult - just, rookies in the field, is all. Stuff like that isn't meant to be published though. :-/
James Rodgers
Point in case. And that horseshit ain't mean to go online... or leave a select circle of folks.
Seriously, if these rookies go ahead and put their stuff up on a site for all to see, then by all means, they gotta take that criticism.
They are horses and they eat food. The non-digested portion has to go somewhere. That's their motivation!
... so they're rebranding and commoditizing it.
Oh wow a midnight posting! Wasn't expecting that!
I personally wouldn't have played it all either. Maybe that jittery walk was shaking? I don't know.
Only the first jump scare got me and it was mostly because I wasn't looking at my screen at the time and turned to see it in time. It just uses too much, its easy to just shrug it off and see it as a nuisance (especially ones like in this game).
Plot twist...the character is actually a battery powered massager and is slowly losing battery power. Must. Find. Cure.
Might as well rename the game Earthquake Simulator w/ no reason jumpscare
"Is there an enemy? oooh nooo." Watch out, don't get too scared now! Thank you, for torturing yourself with the jittery walking nonsense for our entertainment, lol.
I don't have any regrets about asking you to play this game, i laughed so much i cried. I hope Courage 3 will be even better xD
What? Why is he walking like that? Are there springs attached to his shoes or something? That is the most ridiculous walking I have ever seen in a game so far. Wow. Just wow.
wolfdragon productions™ maybe its a cut south park character?
It's new big thing cool kids are doing. First there was sagging your pants, now there's bouncing up and down at incredible speeds
Jonathan Cane Welcome to the Ministry of Silly Walks.
Jonathan Cane Yep, because that doesn't make someone want to throw up...
"So far, it's better than the first one."
Yeah, because that's a big hurdle to get over.
I love it how the video recomendations on the right are all pogostick videos
I can’t wait for courage 3
I can't wait for the dev to come here like he did on the first Courage shit game and start whining about how he's inexperienced and pls don't be mean its his first game done in a week pls ;-;
He seriously did that? Wow!
Lmao your pause at the beginning about the courage 3 in development made me spit my drink out.
I saw the beginning grammar and I was just like oh no...it's gonna be one of those "horror" games...
A stray cat's wet ass could of farted better walking mechanics
In a movie theater's voice " Courage 2... when you thought the first one couldn't get any worse"
8/10 too much jumps
sev Elfen Lied avatar, 10/10.
*jumping up and down relentlessly*

I think I may of figured out whats going on with the walk. If I had to take a guess, its probably some kind of mechanic where as you move it plays a view shake like a bob to simulate a walk motion, otherwise it would be completely still. Some games use the animation on a 1st person model (or 3rd) to drive this movement, others simulate it with a simple bob that is more of an illusion to do the job. If I had to guess, I'd say the animation of the bob somehow is bugged or done wrong to where its playing it way faster than its intended rate, making you look like a pogostick master/vibrator.
I think my favorite part about these games are all the comments on it linking to their youtube videos and them saying how scary/fantastic of a game it is.
LOL these games never fail to disappoint us xD Was this game tested? If yes, was the developer's intention make the character tremble because he is scared? Either that Alex is either a pogo stick as John said, or a South Park character.
I'm not a game dev at all but my best guess is that some combination of the main character guy/Sprite (whatever you are when you play) and the texture of the floor tiles makes the jitteriness. Like he had a really small gait and so it exaggerates the texture of floor tiles. Maybe they aren't meant to be floors but also definitely on the developer and something to do with the playable character characteristics(like really short too in both courage games, slowish in he first). I'm sure a someone who knows game dev could easily explain it much better.
Yeah almost certainly the problem is with the character model because it had issues with anything except the smoothed outdoor ground not just the first floor tiles .
Yeah I'm certain that its something about the character model itself because it has the stuttering on any of the textures except the outside which was totally smoothed.
I know this comment is 4 months old at this point, but I can think answer your question a little bit. I've taken a few classes on animation and game making, and I can recognize this animation from my my time in those classes.
What I think is happening is the buildings floor, instead of being set as a floor like the outside area, was given a regular hit box. In simple games and programs, objects don't have built in hit boxes, you need to make a box and assign logic to it to prevent pass through. The most basic hit box is essentially "Is (model) within (area)? If yes, move back (distance)." So I think the jumping is actually the model touching the floor's box, and the basic hit box is moving it back. These hit boxes often only recognize moving objects, so that's why it doesn't reset him while standing still.
I might be completely wrong, but it's my guess.
in unity engine there is a default head bob with a first person template (along with some nice stock unity footsteps as well) however when you scale the character movement speed or the actual scale of the character and dont adjust the head bob interval you get something like this. essentially what we're seeing is a character thats like 100x too large for the head bob settings to accurately replicate walking
The reviews of this game say it's good.
It's a good horror game for those who've never played a horror game at least...
That intro should have ending with:
"All your base are belong to us."
HarshlyCritical I literally jump at the same time you jump in the beginning of the game. Lol Overall, love watching these horror games that you play I never get tired or bored.
Shit, I'm lost! I know! I must find the asylum! Which is also a lab!
I've seen many things. I've seen unanimated models sliding across corridors through walls and not touching the floor, I've seen low-res textures pop up randomly, I've seen gigantic textured motherfucking cubes with Jeff the Killer's face on them fall from the ceiling but I don't know If I've ever seen models just pop up and attach themselves to the camera. And I've not seen a game that cannot nail MOTHERFUCKING WALKING and I do blame the creator for fucking something up because the first person controller is one of the default assets in Unity. They probably got some weird thing they put together from googled scripts instead because if any part of the default first person controller gets stuck under something, it normally just falls right through and doesn't turn into the world's hardest to use sex toy.
Game breaking walking animation aside, I guess it was an improvement form the first game??? If you can call generic horror tropes, jumpscares, and an extremely weak plot an improvement.
Either the MC is doped up on amphetamines or too much caffeine.... or he is the one being referenced with, "someone will come" & the game just has him walking in the dark while he's gettin' busy. I apologize sorta, but with all that up & down jiggling, I couldn't help it.
Ugh, that walking made me kinda motion sick. Had to just listen instead of watching.
"There seems to be a third game coming out as well"
The face John made after that was priceless
"He likes to collect rare plants, so he wandered off to the forest..." What a jerky character, waltzing in woods and picking endangered species.
I like how your description says "Game: Slender: The Eight Pages" Yes RUclips, this is a slender game \(-.-)/
I don't know what kind of pogo sticks you've been on HC. More like a jackhammer.
Your character you play walks like Skips from Regular Show lol XD
I enjoy horror, but find is so difficult to find anything work paying attention to in that genre, especially games and film. I feel like many horror fans have extremely low standards, or find very different things scary than I do. This game might be better than the first in some respects, but it is still really terrible, but the comments on the indiedb page largely praise it.
"Just finished the game and I thought it was a pretty intense game. I agree with the other folks on here that it got a little repetitive after a while, but for the most part it terrified me pretty bad!"
"Pound for pound this is the most jump scares I've seen so far! This is a pretty good game and shows there are some some talented people in the indie community."
"I HATE THIS GAME. It scared me shitless. I'm going to go cry in a dark corner now. Scratch that, a bright happy corner with unicorns and puppies. THERE!"
If this is intense and scares them, then life must be horrifying. I can see them cowering in fear when the alarm clock goes off, or there is a loud sound outside.
I think the developer either had people wright thoes reviews or made several other accounts and wrote them him self, either that or there are some truly cowardly people in this world, but in the end at least the horror genre hasn't completely died after all we still have SOMA to look forward to and to be honest Kholat wasn't all that bad.
I don't know what you are talking about John, this game is great!
Sir. Simon either i'm terrible at getting sarcasm or your standards for horror are terrible.
Ian trust me, it sarcasm
Nick Butenko either that or this guy is talking about the fun-level in this game. It's hilarious.

Is this how they walk in South Park?
I got stung by a single wasp today. I did not fall over and go sleepy bye.
I was looking through the comments for the first game, and I found this gem:
"Hey DKReigns, this was a great game, probably one of the best indie horror games I've every played. I believe you have a lot of potential as a developer. But I was searching on youtube about your game and I seems a guy named "Harshly Critical", who is pretty famous, has been **** talking your game. Here is his video: ruclips.net/video/EWwOv9bPB6AH/видео.htmle's calling the dev of the game, you, pathetic and a cancer to the horror genre of indie games. You should check him out and tell him how much of an *** he is.He is giving you and your game a really bad name, especially since he has a lot of subscribers, it's not good for your reputation."
Mr. Stretch Ah yes, I remember this one. I never called the dev "pathetic" or "a cancer" or personally insulted them in any way, 99% sure. I guess that guy is just somebody trying to start trouble lol
i would love to see those legs movement that makes a walk like that! haha
When I’m sad as fuck and down I come here and I’m so happy you’re hilarious
HarshlyCritical You know ill be honest with you , I've been following you for q long time now i watched one of your play throughs of the indie horror series the "one shoots" and i instantly got hooked! Yet I forgot which play through it was but you annoyed the hell out of me. I think it was cause you were missing simple things that the viewer saw.. But in the end i came back and subscribed and hooked again. All in all your doing a great job . Ive became a big fan of you . Everytime I open up youtube i honestly look to your channel for a new video :)
John I was showing my friend your channel and I see this pop up on it! Yes! Thank you!
When he looked deep into the camera before talking about the link in the description.
Just then I realized what I had gotten myself into...
Can't. Unsee. Eyes. Bleed
I don't know how you were able to even play this after that walking effect started. I could barely watch this without feeling sick.
... let me see if I get the story of the intro straight. You play some random idiot who’s walking alone sho walks by a wasps nest, the wasps get angry (as wasps so wan to do.) and sting him, this is such a shock to his body that he is KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS. I’m sorry but if your knocked out cold from a wasp sting your likely allergic and if your already knocked out without medical help like NOW your dead. So this story is already off to a fantastic start, the protag should be dead on principle there should not be a game after this, but instead they for some inexplicable reason wake up in the middle of the woods at night near an abandoned asylum... sure.
Seeing the note covering the menu almost made me choke *facepalm*
Thanks for playing Courage 2, John!
I keep imagining a motor sound effect just by the jaggety camera movement everytime the character walks.
I love your voice acting for the narrator parts
The walking animation is fantastic. Wow!
At least we can take comfort in the fact that they are developing a third installment.
MY BIGGEST JUMPSCARE!
This game is as lame as it's annoying, I wouldn't stand a minute playing it. How is it possible for this to even have a rating?
I see some potential here and there but that's about it.
So... That happened. Maybe your character is a rabbit that can jump at super sonic speed, but not go very fast while doing it. Another 'great' game. Can't believe each jump scare was the exact same. Was hoping for a little mix up, but no, just guy with bloody face. Every few minutes. Awesome. Also, if I got lost in the forest at night, my first instinct wouldn't be 'Man, I need to get to that random asylum for some reason. Pogo stick, AWAY!!!!'
The game should receive an award for having the first mobile washing machine as a protagonist.
Oh, no. Tall Grass?! 'A wild Wolfe appears!'.
The kid who created this game uses counter strick zombie figures for jump scares
You find the best games and I love it truly
Maybe the glitchy walking could've been caused by a poorly placed floor going through the player model's feet/ camera poorly placed so it goes through the ceiling?
I don't know, I can't program, I can only commend the maker for actually making something 'playable'
This game has two endings. John got the good ending.
Great attempt as always John, considering. My God that constant shaking was just plain miserable so maybe 3rd times the charm? I guess we'll have to wait and see lol
I could only imagine the character as a rabbit jacked up on caffine.
10/10, greatest parody of horror games in years.
Looking forward to the third one, gotta complete the shitty trilogy.
That jumpy screen makes the video almost unwatchable. I don't know how you made it through the game without throwing up.
13:04 - There is doge. Right there. On the wall.
*spoiler alert*
The MC is a ballet dancer and is dancing on point throughout the entire game. Therefore, it is not a technical flaw in the game, but rather an inspiring display of incredible stamina.
Seriously, though, why would they release this steaming pile of crap? Especially beginning the game with "proudly presents"? Maybe they only reviewed the initial menu selection screen...
Thank you for this. I wanted this shit to be apart of my life, specifically your reaction to it all.
That first jumpscare also made me jump a bit. XD
That hurt my eyes pretty bad and I feel motion sickness, no more Pogo please.
Love this guy. him and BlackBusterCritic the main channels i watch.
The wasp nest story is hilarious!
To be fair, the dev said the original courage was *not* going to be updated at all, whereas he has fixed this version up.... You should assume this game is his actual first game, since he mentioned something about scraping the first one.
