Just want to point out I think it's more likely that rich is the player and that's why every monster would of remembered him has an employee. I think rich missed a Farwell party for his old boss that ended up talking place on the day of the hour of joy. It would explain the over arching guilt the player feels, elaborated to us during the dream sequence.

What if: Both Rye and Tom's theories are correct? What if Rich wants to burn everything to the ground, like Tom said, but Elliot wants to become a human again, like Rye said? Like that, everything clicks into place! It's the most likely solution, and I kind of like the idea of the Prototype being a hive-mind of multiple human consiousnesses, it really ties back to Mommy LongLegs' last words: *_"He'll make me PART OF HIM!!"_* Mommy, or Marie Payne, has now joined the hive-mind of human souls inside the Prototype, something akin to Ennard/Molten Freddy/the Blob from Five Nights at Freddy's

One thing i never thought about until you mentioned it. The Prototype talked to Theo, the drawing shows him under the bed, and he had to physically be there to bring Theo to the staff. But we know The Prototype was under lockdown and constant surveillance. So much so that it was a big deal when they lost sight of him for less than a minute. How did he get to Theo?
I think the prototype can change size considering how it’d need to move to get to mommy long legs and how that arm is arguably smaller than we see in chapter 3
I've definitely been leaning similar to your theory regarding the prototype for a while. Since the Prototype has been collecting the dead bodies of the toys we encounter, it feels clear that it's building Something (I think he might be improving his body or creating the ultimate servant like a Frankenstein monster). And to me, it makes more sense from a Horror perspective, that the Prototype is intentionally luring us into a trap at the bottom for a nefarious purpose. Whether that's to steal our human body for itself, or experiment on us to transform toys back into humans (or just torture us by becoming a toy); I feel it fits the genre better than an ultimate twist of "He was a good guy all along". Also, I feel the interview tape with the Prototype learning to mimic voices pushes me more toward "It wants to replace us," but honestly, at this point its goals are so vague, it could genuinely be anything.
Then again, "curse" words are pretty much cursed XD They are usually used for serious shit, but today... ppl use them frequently and interchangeably and unjustfully so :/ I think it would be better and easier to just... make up something else instead of using the SAME DAMN THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!!! sorry... I think that if you're arguing that a second human being added would have their consciousness merged, you have to also say that all the other toys who get added to the prototype's body also get merged.
I like your theory, and thematically the prototype being a parallel for the grab pack is cool, but I don't think there's evidence that the prototype was originally just an arm. I can definitely believe the 2 minds in 1 body thing though.
I'm just here for the fun, ngl, but: What if you're kind of right? What if the hand was created first for the Prototype? But, what if instead of them having killed Rich in this hypothetical, just for an arm bone, they kept him alive, and quarantined, where he couldn't cause any trouble. This leaves two of them, which would add to the "we," and "us," while giving Rich time to adjust: I'm sorry, the Prototype is way too intelligent for having been an immediate slam dunk, y'know? Does that make sense? As far as the hand symbolism itself, if I had to throw my hat into the ring, I'd say this: I think the symbolism is the hand these people had in doing these terrible things. For example, Rich or Elliot, or whoever the Prototype is, orchestrated the Hour of Joy. Like Poppy calls out, ultimately, it was an act senseless violence. Quite a few of those people didn't even know what was going on, Playtime Co made SURE of that. (Jack's character was HORRIFIED when he caught a GLIMPSE of PJ, and actively tried to warn Leithe, who gaslit him. Obviously, this was not an everyone-knows-everything type of situation.) So, that's their hand. As for our character, and the only part of us we can see being the grabpack hands, most likely it'd be because we WERE a member of the faculty, and a highranking one to-boot if Mommy-nee-Marie recognizes us, and Miss Barb Delight, too. We would likely have helped these horrific experiments take place, and then, somehow, we missed the Hour of Joy. Two hands. We helped create a mess, and we didn't even try to do anything about it. So now we're here. Alternatively, it could just be voiceless hero plus Mob trying to save the reveal for a little later on. Idk. XD
As some of the other comments have said, the video title and thumbnail don't seem like the best way to format it. HOWEVER, somebody did need to talk about the theory, as there is evidence in the game that directly contradicts the theory As it wasn't mentioned in the video, there is a tape you can find, I think it might be the one the one it the CatNap boss fight room, but that might be the one with the doctor. Anyways, in the tape, Rich is talking to CatNap, and CatNap says "The Prototype will save us" So unless the person talking isn't Rich, which I'm fairly certain it is, Rich can't be the Prototype
I think you are both right and wrong. I have a feeling that the prototype wants to destroy the facility, but he can't do it until someone gets evidence of the happenings that was going on so that it will never happen again. That's where we come in, we was someone that the prototype knew and trusted before and probably either quit, or fired.
I just wanted to call out that i jokingly called out rye in Tom's stream yesterday before i had watched it. After watching, i want to say that even if the original title was slightly misleading, i absolutely loved the way you handled the beginning of the video.
About telepathy, we literally see the prototype communicating telepathically in project playtime’s tutorial. I think that the whole thing looks like a creepy skinless version of Huggy, it would make sense from the marketing standpoint since huggy is definitely the most iconic character in the game.
I think the whole hand thing is kinda dumb. We only see a hand because the developers want to keep the mystery of the prototype until the last chapter or something. It’s not really that complicated.
I know they're just clickbait and I'm sure the video is going to largely polite and all but, nonetheless, that title and especially the thumbnail seem unnecessarily mean. It also doesn't help that I ended up coming across a decent amount of low key disrespect to Tom a lot before it was announced he was going to take over the channel, with, when he would appear on GTLive, people being like "Oh, he's alright, but all he does with Mat, it doesn't seem like he has his own opinions," which objectively isn't true but even if it was they work together on the same theories so of course some of their ideas are going to line up. To be clear I don't think Rye is contributing to that, I assume he didn't even know that sentiment existed, but, for me, knowing that those people exist/ed and might be scrutinising his theories even more even though he's been working on them heavily for a few years now, it's just kind of sad that, even if unintentional, such a thumbnail and title kind of perpetuates that. Again, I know it's just clickbait, I know it's just thing you "have to" do to get people to see your content, but when it's a real person in a position like this, I maybe would change it.
How is his thumbnail in anyway shape or form mean to Tom? It says “Is Tom’s theory wrong?” Not “Tom’s theory is wrong.” So that’s not mean. Rye states that he knows they have been working on theories for awhile before they took Matt’s mantle. So Rye knows that it’s not just actual first theory, so Rye is not picking on him for it being his “first theory.” If you watch Rye’s video they say that it’s his opinion and not so much fact. Rye is being polite as possible. You could argue why Rye even made the video in the first place?, but if you’ve been watching Rye you’d know that he normally talks about GameTheory theories and in no shape or form a new thing. I feel like since we it's theorized that we hear the Prototype in Project Playtime but don't actually see it, it's gotta have some telepathic abilities. That's not to say it can't also be escaping and doing all these things but I feel like it could definitely be telepathic.

I think the prototype body is probably small compared to its long arm this was the company biggest thing they made at the time and smaller toys were dangerous so if it were to escape it couldn’t go on a killing spree because its body couldn’t move as fast as smaller ones
You make some good points. 1006 referring to itself as "we" does seem to indicate more than one mind. Wanting to be human or bringing the protagonist back are a little weaker, but not impossible. However, if 1006 wants a human body, why is it taking dead toys, like Mommy longlegs, and making them part of itself? I'm also not convinced it was 1006 who sent the letter that brings the protagonist back. Another oddity that no one mentions is Ollie. Some have tried to figure out who he is, but I don't think anyone has mentioned the wrecked train. I may be wrong, but I seem to remember Ollie not being able to see the train wreck because there were no cameras in that section. yet when the protagonist is talking to Ollie on the phone, Ollie can now see the wreck when the protagonist looks at it. How? Is Ollie the phone?
If the Prototype wants to destroy the factory and everything in it, the toys he made loyal to himself probably wouldn't like that after hearing promises of freedom. The Prototype may need the player not only to bring down any remainder of Playtime down with it, but to use us to take down any possible opposition to his true plans. I'm sure CatNap woulda had a few choice words especially if his hero turned his back on his words in the end. So the Prototype needed at least the perfect scenario to put CatNap down. At least CatNap was useful in dispatching the rest of the Smiling Critters and having the rest of the toys in Playcare cannibalize each other. Def made some things easier in that regard, if things are going the way they could be going.
I think it's funny how everyone forgot about what mob entertainment did just because of it being entertaining. I never cared but it's almost like how people chose to love MJ even though he's a highly likely pdf file
tom literally brought the first poppy playtime game theory to life, kind of, you see, the first theory mat did about the game is that rich is huggy, and huggy is 1006, therefore rich is 1006 ignoring the huggy part (this is when chapter 1 was the only chapter of the game btw) wait, now that you said it, prototype could actually be the responsible for killing elliot after all, but i don't think he did it himself, remember the huggy VHS tape where he escaped and then stood still in front of a house close to the factory, it could be that this house is elliot's and that 1006 ordered huggy to kill him, and when he did, he stood still, he completed the job. also the fact that elliot has a dead kid in his house doesn't mean he's evil tbh, we know he has a dead member of the fammily, maybe that's what's left of them when they were turned into a toy prototype's goal to me is pretty clear, he wants us to help him, with what exactly? idk, getting rid of poppy? kill toys because he can't do it himself? (already debunked) switch places with us? (like ennard from fnaf)

I think a flaw in your hypothesis is still assuming the prototype organized the hour of joy with all the toys. I don't think this was the case. I think Theo was the big link. Clearly mommy was not happy being a part of it but she acted agaisnt her will thanks to Catnap's gas. I think the protoype uses catnap to free and afdect the bigger bodies. They were not nessisairly being controlled but just under an agressive/hallucinatory state. The they were not an army under the protoype but individuals lashing out at once to create pandemonium. It's clear the majority of the bigger body toys do NOT seem cool with the prototype. I think he incited a riot to break free but the factory shut down before he could get out and the remaining inmates took over areas like warlords. They each claimed their territories which only made it harder for the prototype to to move around and get free again. You were brought to the factory to confront these things. This distraction helps him get to part of the factory without risk and claim parts of the defeated toys for his own body. It is clear however that he did not organize the hour of joy as some willing rebellion under him form all involved. Most are not volubtary minions of the prototype and never were. That's why he needs outside help to escape now that his plan backfired. It is very much a transition form Arkham Asylum to Arkham city. An organized facility keeping the subjects under less than appropriate conditions to a contained anarchic criminal society. Huggy and mommy were never proven his supporters, let alone the biggest ones. In fact, mommy seems terrified of it. Again. Catnap's gas is what seems to ahve triggered the attack and it was to EVERYONE. The toys killed staff AND visitors. Adults AND children. We know this goes agaisnt the desired of toys like Mommy. Even Kissy participated. They did not do this out of their free volition an likely were VERY displeased with the prototype/catnap afterward. Not only did they kill people they didn't want to but were now trapped. From their perspective, the prototype used them and left them in an even worse environment than before. That's why catnap and the prototype can't move freely. They were ONLY able to do this through Catnap's gas and ONLY through planning in the system that existed before the fall of playtime. Now that the toys are free, the system is not making it easy to go around gassing them at once and the bigger bodies are WEARY of the two, they need an outsider. Huggy and mommy were never the closest allies..they were first simply a tool and then the biggest obstacles.
This one seems like a bit of a miss to me. I'm all for making what you wanna make but I don't think it's very smart to post a video asking "Is this new guy worse than the old guy" after he posts like, 2-3 videos. You've given him no chance.

Very much NOT a fan of this video's premise. Tom's theory is on par with MatPat's previous Poppy Playtime theories in terms of consistency regarding evidence and connecting dots to create a story (most likely because it's still the same team of theorists minus one). On top of that, I personally enjoyed the way that Tom presented new evidence and the overall theory more than how Matpat presented his Poppy Playtime theories in previous videos. Overall, it's pretty sucky to make a video like this on someone who is no doubt already facing a ton of pressure from the theorist community and Game Theory's massive audience since MatPat left. Making a video with this premise will only lead to people being more and more overly-scrutinizing of someone who is already subject to that with this new and heavy responsibility of taking over the role of a beloved host. Even if the video has a disclaimer to deflect from this kind of criticism (as it hasn't been premiered yet at the time of writing this comment) it still won't change the damage it'll do with the title and thumbnail exclusively targeting Tom, instead of Game Theory as a team or even just the theory as a concept. I thought you were better than this, Rye. I'm severely disappointed.
I see no issue in this video being made if rye sees something wrong in the video he has every right to comment on it and put his views forward. After all, theories are meant to push the discussion around the lore of these games forward if someone thinks something is wrong it creates a space for constructive debate. All content on this platform should be open to criticism, denying that only leads to isolated echo chambers for the deluded.

The problem overall is that, by targeting (as in pointing out a single person) this video, even if it's just and fair and polite criticism towards a theory, this is not the way the internet audience works, and many see this kind of title and thumbnail as an invitation to harass its subject. I will not assume Rye's intentions are malicious, but a thumbnail like this one could have a bad effect even if unintenionally

I personally believe that it's very irresponsible to make a video specifically targeting the face of an entire team, especially when that face is new and already being scrutinized by the larger community for replacing MatPat. I think the prototype is Elliot Ludwig's son that's what the nightmare or red gas hallucination with radio news broadcasts imply and I think that the protagonist is the scientist from the tape in the first part where you hear the hour of joy and the scientist says he'll be back and there was screaming in the background

Constructive criticism is not being mean, this is just what happens when a new Game Theory video comes out, we theorize with each other and prove each other wrong so we can learn the story the game is trying to tell us. this is not a beat down just because of the somewhat clickbait thumbnail.

I definitely found a few holes in the Game theory so I'm glad to see another perspective. I do think the prototype's motivation is shifting. Uniting the toys, then turning on them. Doing everything to save Theo then killing him, so the different minds perspective is an interesting one. Personally, I'd like more speculation/lore on Ollie. If he is indeed the prototype, why does Poppy trust him so much? Who does she think he is? If he is going to turn on her, it doesn't feel earned yet, because we don't have enough information. I realize that there is just so little on Ollie that we can't even begin to speculate. But it is a little unsatisfying at the moment. I hope we get a little more Ollie lore drops soon, because if he betrays us at this point it will be like, "Well yeah."

It was a misunderstanding caused by the negative leaning thumbnail and the NOW FIXED video title. I'd yet to watch the video since making the original comment, and wish to do so now! Have a good rest of y'alls day! mean??? Tom has been writing the majority of Game Theory's theories way before Matpat even left, so I don't think he's done anything differently at all?? In fact, I think Tom's playtime theory is actually extremely spot on as of right now. Besides, comparisons are never needed. Tom is not the same person as Matpat, and that's completely okay.

@indo7635 I've been busy all day so I couldn't exactly watch the video and fix my comment before any of this occurred, but I just wanted to point out that, like you said, this comment was posted before the video premiere even started, and I haven't had the chance to fully watch the video yet, so yes, this comment is pointless after Rye's confirmation on his knowledge about the new hosts. Either way, I still think comparison between the two hosts is also pointless because they are two different people, and that means that neither one can be objectively "better" than the other at theorizing because there is no control, there is no end all be all master theorist who does it the best way possible. That was moreso about the way the video premiere was first shown with the- now fixed- title and the negative leaning thumbnail, which, as many of us thought, felt like unnecessary negative pressure on someone who just became the new main voice for a very popular channel. I think it’s funny how some people believe that one person and one person only can be correct about theories in all games and think that know everything, without even playing the game. Also, it’s ridiculous how people are demoting others over a silly pizza bear death game or a silly fuzzy toys eat you game. I can’t imagine being a theorist and having to deal with all of this, on top of dealing with people in the real world, and still maintain an upload schedule. That must be hard. I think an important overlooked question is WHAT EVEN is the prototypes MAIN PURPOSE when they were created? huggy wuggy n mommy long legs n cat nap were successful experiments but they were all created to be workers in a sense but what was the prototypes job going to be or what toy were they supposed to be? they clearly were not used later as a worker but im curious as to why they specifically chose that hand design, like what toy were they going to be made into?

It's the most likely solution, and I kind of like the idea of the Prototype being a hive-mind of multiple human consiousnesses, it really ties back to Mommy LongLegs' last words: *_"He'll make me PART OF HIM!!"_*

One thing i never thought about until you mentioned it. The Prototype talked to Theo, the drawing shows him under the bed, and he had to physically be there to bring Theo to the staff.
But we know The Prototype was under lockdown and constant surveillance. So much so that it was a big deal when they lost sight of him for less than a minute.

I think the prototype can change size considering how it’d need to move to get to mommy long legs and how that arm is arguably smaller than we see in chapter 3
I've definitely been leaning similar to your theory regarding the prototype for a while. Since the Prototype has been collecting the dead bodies of the toys we encounter, it feels clear that it's building Something (I think he might be improving his body or creating the ultimate servant like a Frankenstein monster). And to me, it makes more sense from a Horror perspective, that the Prototype is intentionally luring us into a trap at the bottom for a nefarious purpose. Whether that's to steal our human body for itself, or experiment on us to transform toys back into humans (or just torture us by becoming a toy); I feel it fits the genre better than an ultimate twist of "He was a good guy all along". Also, I feel the interview tape with the Prototype learning to mimic voices pushes me more toward "It wants to replace us," but honestly, at this point its goals are so vague, it could genuinely be anything.

I think that if you're arguing that a second human being added would have their consciousness merged, you have to also say that all the other toys who get added to the prototype's body also get merged.
I like your theory, and thematically the prototype being a parallel for the grab pack is cool, but I don't think there's evidence that the prototype was originally just an arm. I can definitely believe the 2 minds in 1 body thing though.

What if you're kind of right? What if the hand was created first for the Prototype? But, what if instead of them having killed Rich in this hypothetical, just for an arm bone, they kept him alive, and quarantined, where he couldn't cause any trouble. This leaves two of them, which would add to the "we," and "us," while giving Rich time to adjust: I'm sorry, the Prototype is way too intelligent for having been an immediate slam dunk, y'know? As far as the hand symbolism itself, if I had to throw my hat into the ring, I'd say this: I think the symbolism is the hand these people had in doing these terrible things. For example, Rich or Elliot, or whoever the Prototype is, orchestrated the Hour of Joy. Like Poppy calls out, ultimately, it was an act senseless violence. Quite a few of those people didn't even know what was going on, Playtime Co made SURE of that. (Jack's character was HORRIFIED when he caught a GLIMPSE of PJ, and actively tried to warn Leithe, who gaslit him. Obviously, this was not an everyone-knows-everything type of situation.) So, that's their hand. As for our character, and the only part of us we can see being the grabpack hands, most likely it'd be because we WERE a member of the faculty, and a highranking one to-boot if Mommy-nee-Marie recognizes us, and Miss Barb Delight, too. We would likely have helped these horrific experiments take place, and then, somehow, we missed the Hour of Joy. Two hands. We helped create a mess, and we didn't even try to do anything about it. So now we're here.
Alternatively, it could just be voiceless hero plus Mob trying to save the reveal for a little later on. Idk. XD

I think you are both right and wrong. I have a feeling that the prototype wants to destroy the facility, but he can't do it until someone gets evidence of the happenings that was going on so that it will never happen again. That's where we come in, we was someone that the prototype knew and trusted before and probably either quit, or fired.
I just wanted to call out that i jokingly called out rye in Tom's stream yesterday before i had watched it. After watching, i want to say that even if the original title was slightly misleading, i absolutely loved the way you handled the beginning of the video.

I think the whole hand thing is kinda dumb. We only see a hand because the developers want to keep the mystery of the prototype until the last chapter or something. It’s not really that complicated.
I know they're just clickbait and I'm sure the video is going to largely polite and all but, nonetheless, that title and especially the thumbnail seem unnecessarily mean.
It also doesn't help that I ended up coming across a decent amount of low key disrespect to Tom a lot before it was announced he was going to take over the channel, with, when he would appear on GTLive, people being like "Oh, he's alright, but all he does with Mat, it doesn't seem like he has his own opinions," which objectively isn't true but even if it was they work together on the same theories so of course some of their ideas are going to line up. To be clear I don't think Rye is contributing to that, I assume he didn't even know that sentiment existed, but, for me, knowing that those people exist/ed and might be scrutinising his theories even more even though he's been working on them heavily for a few years now, it's just kind of sad that, even if unintentional, such a thumbnail and title kind of perpetuates that.

How is his thumbnail in anyway shape or form mean to Tom? It says “Is Tom’s theory wrong?” Not “Tom’s theory is wrong.” So that’s not mean. Rye states that he knows they have been working on theories for awhile before they took Matt’s mantle. So Rye knows that it’s not just actual first theory, so Rye is not picking on him for it being his “first theory.” If you watch Rye’s video they say that it’s his opinion and not so much fact. Rye is being polite as possible. You could argue why Rye even made the video in the first place?, but if you’ve been watching Rye you’d know that he normally talks about GameTheory theories and in no shape or form a new thing. I think the prototype body is probably small compared to its long arm this was the company biggest thing they made at the time and smaller toys were dangerous so if it were to escape it couldn’t go on a killing spree because its body couldn’t move as fast as smaller ones
You make some good points. 1006 referring to itself as "we" does seem to indicate more than one mind. Wanting to be human or bringing the protagonist back are a little weaker, but not impossible. However, if 1006 wants a human body, why is it taking dead toys, like Mommy longlegs, and making them part of itself? I'm also not convinced it was 1006 who sent the letter that brings the protagonist back.
Another oddity that no one mentions is Ollie. Some have tried to figure out who he is, but I don't think anyone has mentioned the wrecked train. I may be wrong, but I seem to remember Ollie not being able to see the train wreck because there were no cameras in that section. yet when the protagonist is talking to Ollie on the phone, Ollie can now see the wreck when the protagonist looks at it. How? Is Ollie the phone?

If the Prototype wants to destroy the factory and everything in it, the toys he made loyal to himself probably wouldn't like that after hearing promises of freedom. The Prototype may need the player not only to bring down any remainder of Playtime down with it, but to use us to take down any possible opposition to his true plans. I'm sure CatNap woulda had a few choice words especially if his hero turned his back on his words in the end. So the Prototype needed at least the perfect scenario to put CatNap down. At least CatNap was useful in dispatching the rest of the Smiling Critters and having the rest of the toys in Playcare cannibalize each other. Def made some things easier in that regard, if things are going the way they could be going.
Please don't tell me we are going to have another Ennard situation, the FNAF comparisons run deep enough as is. XD

wait, now that you said it, prototype could actually be the responsible for killing elliot after all, but i don't think he did it himself, remember the huggy VHS tape where he escaped and then stood still in front of a house close to the factory, it could be that this house is elliot's and that 1006 ordered huggy to kill him, and when he did, he stood still, he completed the job.

I think a flaw in your hypothesis is still assuming the prototype organized the hour of joy with all the toys. I don't think this was the case. I think Theo was the big link. Clearly mommy was not happy being a part of it but she acted agaisnt her will thanks to Catnap's gas. I think the protoype uses catnap to free and afdect the bigger bodies. They were not nessisairly being controlled but just under an agressive/hallucinatory state. The they were not an army under the protoype but individuals lashing out at once to create pandemonium. It's clear the majority of the bigger body toys do NOT seem cool with the prototype. I think he incited a riot to break free but the factory shut down before he could get out and the remaining inmates took over areas like warlords. They each claimed their territories which only made it harder for the prototype to to move around and get free again. You were brought to the factory to confront these things. This distraction helps him get to part of the factory without risk and claim parts of the defeated toys for his own body. It is clear however that he did not organize the hour of joy as some willing rebellion under him form all involved. Most are not volubtary minions of the prototype and never were. That's why he needs outside help to escape now that his plan backfired. It is very much a transition form Arkham Asylum to Arkham city. An organized facility keeping the subjects under less than appropriate conditions to a contained anarchic criminal society.
Huggy and mommy were never proven his supporters, let alone the biggest ones. In fact, mommy seems terrified of it. Again. Catnap's gas is what seems to ahve triggered the attack and it was to EVERYONE. The toys killed staff AND visitors. Adults AND children. We know this goes agaisnt the desired of toys like Mommy. Even Kissy participated. They did not do this out of their free volition an likely were VERY displeased with the prototype/catnap afterward. Not only did they kill people they didn't want to but were now trapped. From their perspective, the prototype used them and left them in an even worse environment than before. That's why catnap and the prototype can't move freely. They were ONLY able to do this through Catnap's gas and ONLY through planning in the system that existed before the fall of playtime. Now that the toys are free, the system is not making it easy to go around gassing them at once and the bigger bodies are WEARY of the two, they need an outsider. Huggy and mommy were never the closest allies..they were first simply a tool and then the biggest obstacles.

Very much NOT a fan of this video's premise. Tom's theory is on par with MatPat's previous Poppy Playtime theories in terms of consistency regarding evidence and connecting dots to create a story (most likely because it's still the same team of theorists minus one).
On top of that, I personally enjoyed the way that Tom presented new evidence and the overall theory more than how Matpat presented his Poppy Playtime theories in previous videos.
Overall, it's pretty sucky to make a video like this on someone who is no doubt already facing a ton of pressure from the theorist community and Game Theory's massive audience since MatPat left. Making a video with this premise will only lead to people being more and more overly-scrutinizing of someone who is already subject to that with this new and heavy responsibility of taking over the role of a beloved host.
Even if the video has a disclaimer to deflect from this kind of criticism (as it hasn't been premiered yet at the time of writing this comment) it still won't change the damage it'll do with the title and thumbnail exclusively targeting Tom, instead of Game Theory as a team or even just the theory as a concept.

I see no issue in this video being made if rye sees something wrong in the video he has every right to comment on it and put his views forward. After all, theories are meant to push the discussion around the lore of these games forward if someone thinks something is wrong it creates a space for constructive debate. All content on this platform should be open to criticism, denying that only leads to isolated echo chambers for the deluded.

The problem overall is that, by targeting (as in pointing out a single person) this video, even if it's just and fair and polite criticism towards a theory, this is not the way the internet audience works, and many see this kind of title and thumbnail as an invitation to harass its subject.
I will not assume Rye's intentions are malicious, but a thumbnail like this one could have a bad effect even if unintenionally

I definitely found a few holes in the Game theory so I'm glad to see another perspective. I do think the prototype's motivation is shifting. Uniting the toys, then turning on them. Doing everything to save Theo then killing him, so the different minds perspective is an interesting one. Personally, I'd like more speculation/lore on Ollie. If he is indeed the prototype, why does Poppy trust him so much? Who does she think he is? If he is going to turn on her, it doesn't feel earned yet, because we don't have enough information. I realize that there is just so little on Ollie that we can't even begin to speculate. But it is a little unsatisfying at the moment. I hope we get a little more Ollie lore drops soon, because if he betrays us at this point it will be like, "Well yeah."

mean??? Tom has been writing the majority of Game Theory's theories way before Matpat even left, so I don't think he's done anything differently at all?? In fact, I think Tom's playtime theory is actually extremely spot on as of right now. Besides, comparisons are never needed. Tom is not the same person as Matpat, and that's completely okay.

@indo7635 I've been busy all day so I couldn't exactly watch the video and fix my comment before any of this occurred, but I just wanted to point out that, like you said, this comment was posted before the video premiere even started, and I haven't had the chance to fully watch the video yet, so yes, this comment is pointless after Rye's confirmation on his knowledge about the new hosts. Either way, I still think comparison between the two hosts is also pointless because they are two different people, and that means that neither one can be objectively "better" than the other at theorizing because there is no control, there is no end all be all master theorist who does it the best way possible. That was moreso about the way the video premiere was first shown with the- now fixed- title and the negative leaning thumbnail, which, as many of us thought, felt like unnecessary negative pressure on someone who just became the new main voice for a very popular channel. Rye is obviously not trashing on Tom, I'm not trashing on Rye, the man knows what's going on and we're all on the same understanding level, that this isn't against Tom as host and his writing for the channel, this is just a video about counter-theorizing. I was just about to edit and/or delete my comment just now before I saw your reply, and wanted to respond, clear any confusion (hopefully). Anyway, I'm going to watch this video now. Have a good day.

I think it’s funny how some people believe that one person and one person only can be correct about theories in all games and think that know everything, without even playing the game. Also, it’s ridiculous how people are demoting others over a silly pizza bear death game or a silly fuzzy toys eat you game. I can’t imagine being a theorist and having to deal with all of this, on top of dealing with people in the real world, and still maintain an upload schedule. That must be hard. But there I go again, ranting about burning pizzerias, and humanoid toys. TLDR: It’s hard to be a theorist.

I think an important overlooked question is WHAT EVEN is the prototypes MAIN PURPOSE when they were created? huggy wuggy n mommy long legs n cat nap were successful experiments but they were all created to be workers in a sense but what was the prototypes job going to be or what toy were they supposed to be? they clearly were not used later as a worker but im curious as to why they specifically chose that hand design, like what toy were they going to be made into?

Fully disagree with both you and Tom and feel like you're both leaving out key evidence like the radio recordings that are backwards and a few other things but I like theories for the sake of theories i don't have to agree to enjoy them
