  • Join us on our travels on the Camino de Santiago! About this episode:
Following a rest day we leave the town of Sarria heading 22km towards Portomarin. We get 100km up the road and we stop for our first coffee before we really start our trail for the day. After a gentle walk we get to our first village and we stop off for a bite to eat and another coffee.
Mark shares has amazing knowledge of Spains finest tractors on the camino 😃. We stop for another coffee where Mark gets a massage on how foot! This is where we get a little excited....we are approaching the 100km marker.
As we get to the 100km marker we are all proud of the journey that we have done as a family and we take a moment to make sure we get the photos done.
As we continue our walk we soon arrive at our next stop in Portomarin and we check into our beautiful pension (Pension Mar), have a bite to eat and then get ourselves to bed ready for our walk tomorrow.
Catch us on Episode 36 when you see us tackle the next stage of our walk on the Camino!

A friend asked me why the tea is so good in the UK; it’s because the coffee is so bad.

I remember with fondness and excitement upon reaching that 100 km marker. My two friends and I stopped at a store at kilometre 101 and bought three beer - one for each of us. At the 100 km mark we cracked our beers and had a well earned celebration - 700 km done, 100 km to go! great times. Congrats guys!

@@EverydayJourneysTV It was like an alternate reality or something now that I am home. I am still adjusting to my regular life. I miss the amazing people I finished the Camino with. Thankfully I am still in contact with most of them. But the Camino is addictive, and I won't be surprised if I do another!

We know the feelings you speak of here about being excited that you have made it so far, eager to get to Santiago, and yet not wanting the Camino to end. We walked our first Camino in 2007, and have returned again and again to walk other routes and favorite sections again. Thanks for showing us the landscapes and villages. We will be there walking in just a few weeks for our 15th "Camino-versary," celebrating being able to do it again.

Thank you Dave....there are so many tractor beauties on this section of the Camino, unfortunately we had to narrow them down to just the finer examples on this video 🚜.

Yes, it was really busy around this area, however, we loved seeing the 100km marker and it was interesting to see the pilgrims that had been walking for a few weeks also taking note of the 100km marker 👣

My first Camino (1 of 3 so far ) was from Sarria. Coming from Australia it seemed such a huge accomplishment, and seeing all the last
100k-ers was just how it was. Now having done other sections I think I prefer the path less travelled.
That said, the section you just did is a favourite, so beautiful, shady and green.
Loving your adventures, will also be a little sad when you get to Santiago de Compostela.
    Are you going to Finisterre?
Well done to Henry and Megan, they will have some tales to tell, mostly at your expense lol.
    Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺

Hey Christine...thanks for messaging and watching the videos 😃 We did not go forward to Finisterre, but that was more due to time (and flights that had to be caught) rather than anything else. We may go back one day and do the Santiago to Finisterre route. Henry and Megan are amazing, they did more than we every expected and they have grown in character since completing the Camino....and yes, they happily share things that we did with family and friends ☺️ Buen Camino 👣
