This is hyping me up for tonight's game vs Carolina. Two 100 pt teams fighting for the top spot in a division that normally never sniffs 100 pts. Sports story lines rule.
I have loved the Rangers for decades and will bleed blue till I die, but this isn't our year. We have the foundation of a legacy team here with multiple cups, but until we do something about our goalie situation we won't be a real cup contender. Our backup is a disaster that we usually have to score 5 goals to win a game with him in net. We should have scooped up flower while he was available. We would have been unstoppable then. All in all I'm very happy with the team we have for the most part and we are definitely a strong force in the NHL with an annual Vezina candidate if not winner. All we need is a reliable backup to be a cup contender.
A backup does not make or break a contender. The idea is to have Shesty play every single game. This is not even debatable. If he gets injured then we can have this conversation. Get amped… it’s ok.
This year is different, we haven’t had a talented NYR team like this in decades. They’re going to make noise in the playoffs, and they’ve got players who are not quite satisfied with what they’ve done so far.
Play strong defensively. Keep opponents to the outside. Be disciplined. Panarin needs to b a Good in the playoffs. Kreids and Mika superstars. And the rest need to chip in timely goalz

The backup only plays on the second of consecutive game days, which doesn't happen in the playoffs. Silly comment.
