With each passing year, it's getting more and more difficult to release something truly unique. But I have a sample of Frustration on the way, along with Penhaligon's Legacy of Petra. Will definitely be trying that new Aqua Allegoria too. Already seen that it gets compared to Trefle Pur which is my favourite from Atelier Cologne. Shalimar Millesime Tonka probably among my top 3 designers from this year! Really appreciate you sharing Karine. 💖
Indeed, once you've smelled many fragrances this is hard to find something unique. Still the difficulty is to create something unique but that will please people so they wear it. In the end, we all want to smell good ... Even if I don't mind smelling weird sometimes (for people around me 😜)
If you like lavender and tonka, maybe you would like Arcadia from Hiram Green? I would recommend their discovery set in any case. Shangri La and Slowdive are also very good.
Oh indeed I didn't notice they had a new release. Lavender and tonka always sound good to me 😄 I tried several ones from the brand (Slowdive included) a long time ago. That may be a great idea to try them again 😊
Babycat is a beauty for sure. I'm not easy with incense, unless it's subtle, and i love the twinkling incense in Babycat, not to mention a gorgeous vanilla and suede. As you were talking about violet from Hermes i was thinking he it's similar to Misia, and then you mentioned it. 👍. Misia is so lovely. Love hearing all your thoughts on these 2022 releases. Hi Lizzie ! 😊 I wore Babycat yesterday and I really appreciate it when I stay home. For me incense has something relaxing and almost meditative. Nice to stay under a blanket reading a book 😄 Violette Volynka has more floral aspect of the violet to me, not only the violet leaves. The leather has a bit more character than in Misia (it reminds me quickly of goat leather at some stage 😅). But I enjoy both and indeed they have very similar notes 😉

I wish I hadn't missed out on the Shalimar. The Tonka Imperial is one of the fragrances I plan to purchase in the new year. I have tested and do enjoy the freshness of the rosemary note.
