It's a kavanjo pickup...
I'm super happy with the way it sounds plugged in :)
Kendl Winter you're a gem!
I LOVE this song 💪🌱🌍 go girl ! 🌈👌
Thank You. Kendl is wearing a Que Audio DA04 mic on her banjo strap. It picked up both her voice and the banjo. The bass has a pickup that is plugged in direct. The banjo also had a pickup plugged in but it was not used. The recorder is a Tascam DR-680.
Thanks! Getting ready for season 2...

This gal is a pistol. Can just tell. Love it :)
Hello Chuck, your humbolt sessions is great! I've seen all the videos, this one is my favorite. I'd like to ask you some questions, did you use a tascam dr 680 to record? Which mics do you use? I'm thinking about buying a portable recorder, would you recommed the dr 680 or could you give me some advice to buy the recorder?
Thank you
Giuseppe
Hi and thanks! Yes, I use a modified Tascam DR 680 (www.busmanaudio.com/mods.html).I would highly recommend it. Mics are listed in the "about" section of each video. I am now sponsored by RODE mics but I haven't used them in production yet.
nice lyrics
I agree with Chad. Nice song, too.

The song is called "Centrifugal Forces" Thanks!!
Hello Chuck, great sound, video and song! What recorder do you use and how've you miked the voice and the instruments?
Hmmmm, what are the metal objects under the banjo strings on the banjo head near the neck? A pickup of some sort?
Yes, a pickup.
how is the ambient noise from the machines cancelled out? Compression? Lip syncing?
All live. She is wearing a lapel mic.
